Wait... weren't all maps translated to a spherical projection since new Caucasus map arrived? The old Caucasus was indeed flat.

can not reproduce Graphical glitch with blinking Master Caution?
Czar replied to frumpy's topic in Bugs and Problems
DLAA. It is a temporal solution to Anti Aliasing. I see it as well on the Tomcat radar screen, sometimes blinking TWS targets and phoenix in pitbull countdowns characters and icons meshes into constant in certain zoom values especially far. Why is it affected by zoom? The temporal algorithm make it so. The problem will be only resolved by changing anti aliasing methods. -
After landing. Director wanted to make my Hornet kiss the static Tomcat. I had to disregard him and taxi myself towards starboard. I placed the statics, so likely that's a horrible spot and that plane shouldn't be there. Directors are unaware of statics position, but that's maybe asking too much of the system at the moment, just pointing it out.

Hi grlmsgt, the command is called Nose Gear Steering / Auto Acquisition Button. You've got to keep it pressed to steer like on the Sabre.

F14 not authorized / antivirus / false positive
Czar replied to Semaphore's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did you take any action on the 'threat'? Seems like the file is in quarantine. Either nuke that file with windows defender and restart or make windows defender bypass it clicking to allow it to exist. Your windows defender panel shouldn't display any 'current threat' existing, before making a repair or updating DCS. Last resort: Download the DCS installer from the DCS website. Make it install DCS on the same drive but in a different folder. You can name it whatever you like. Stop installation when it is downloading the files. Make an exclusion on Windows Defender and in any other anti virus you have, of that new folder. CUT and paste your old DCS files to the new folder made. If any file is stuck by 'another program is using this file', Let them be and bypass them. The goal is to avoid downloading massive files again. Resume installation through the installer you just downloaded for the path of that new folder you've made. It will verify the files that exists instead of re downloading everything. -
F14 not authorized / antivirus / false positive

Hi Bagpipe. It seems that your installation is missing the F14-HeatblurCommon.dll that may have been deleted by the anti virus. Try to remove/uninstall the module through the launcher, do a repair and then update DCS. If the issue persists. Try the following: Disable real-time protection temporarily on windows defender despite having the DCS root folder in the exclusion list. Type: "Windows Security" in the Search Bar -> Virus & Threat Protection -> Virus & threat protection settings 'manage settings' -> Turn off real-time protection. Restart PC. Do a DCS repair and whatever else DCS needs including re installing the F-14 module. Re activate real-time protection from windows defender. So, they are attacking eachother now. Wild! I'm not surprised, though... sad. -
Pretty much what rob10 said. There is a lot more that needs to go on outside of that screen. INS aligned. Weapon designated somewhere. Master Arm to Arm. Judging by the fuel flow and fuel levels, your plane still is on ground/deck. JDAM on the picture is aligned. You need a TGT designation somewhere for it to grab. Try to prepare the weapon in the air to avoid messing with the aircraft operation flow if you're beginning the familiarization. A few things won't work with weight on wheels.

There are a few threads open about this on this forum section. Remove all your mods and see if the problem resolves. Rename your DCS folder in 'saved games' to DCS_Old and try to access the menu and launch a mission. If it is resolved with this, it is some of the mods you're using. I have only the A-4 mod and Tacview so I know those two are not causing it. I saw some post talking about the Su-30 mod. Best of luck. Hopefully it is an easy fix with removing mods for the time being.

fixed There is no more rain on the canopy of the Kamov
Czar replied to Kappa-131st's topic in Bugs and Problems
I haven't flown the Ka-50 BS3 yet in rain on the new patch. I know it is curved instead of flat glass, but this video maybe can help to build up a picture. It should indeed spread:- 31 replies

Bump Maps. They are truly everywhere in some maps, but if you get rid of them, from high up everything will look bland again, just like Early South Atlantic map. There needs to be a new tech for high density autogen (3D), with performance in mind, to populate these areas with either rocks or bushes or trees. Add not substract. I highly disagree that bump maps should be removed. It would be a downgrade if so. In that video thumbnail with the Mig-29 on the latest post, the bump mapping on the ground pulls off some excellent visuals from that altitude.

Iraq's Baghdad performance was a scary surprise. I hope the map is properly ironed out on its autogen to make room in hardware power for the actual missions and scenarios for the average joe's computer, especially in multiplayer in densely populated locations.

F14 not authorized / antivirus / false positive
Czar replied to Semaphore's topic in Bugs and Problems
Oh no. Please everyone, DO NOT TURN OFF your Windows Firewall or Windows Defender. That's a bad idea. Only do this. It is enough to never see this issue again. It is/was also standard on another simulator with some avionics modeling. Also the Windows Defender is wrongly flagging other open source projects that are checked for malware code: Make an Exclusion on the whole DCS root folder on your anti-virus, including Windows Defender. Do a repair. Usual path for files and folder exclusion management (windows 11 in english): Search for "windows security" in the search bar Virus & Threat Protection At 'Virus & Threat Protection Settings', click on 'manage settings' Bottom of the page click on 'add or remove exclusions' Add the whole DCS root Folder. This is it. Don't touch Windows Firewall. -
Hi, Arcc. Rename your DCS 'saved games' folder to something like DCS_OLD and try to launch a mission. Your settings will be reset for the time being. Usual path: C:\Users\<yourusernameinwindows>\Saved Games\DCS If you're able to launch, there is something on your old folder messing up with the sim. I saw that you have a few things on scripts including 'moving map' addon. See if renaming 'scripts' folder to 'scripts_old' can make the sim run normally again. Edit: do what BIGNEWY mentioned too.

The HUD + heatblur interference fix alone is worth celebration! o/ Still waiting for the Tomcat vfx upgrades from Heatblur especially the overwing/fuselage vapor in line with what their Phantom has. Sad to not see anything related to Heatblur on the notes.

If that's true, people are missing out BIG time. This kind of hurts to hear. It enriches so much a sortie, especially in co-op. Some situations with weather ends up generating hilarious outcomes. (I got yelled at because I made the mission and the tanker altitude ended up in the soup . Worth it.) To think players are omitting this kind of experience either alone or with friend is kind of saddening. I'm working on a reference points AAR tutorial-lite 'series' with 2D in mind because of some noise around AAR in DCS. You just gave me another reason to push this task up in priority thinking the reason we don't have new tankers is because people don't want or can't engage in AAR. I had to vent, because I enjoy a lot of AAR and know how many problems it has in DCS to the point of wanting an overhaul asap. I know it won't happen soon, but the state seems like just 'being left behind'. Fair skies

Can you raise your pagefile to 30gb and see if it is smoother? I have a 12600kf and haven't needed to unpark any core. 30gb on pagefile, 64gb system ram. All smooth.

I now remember this tanker on lock on after the mentions. DCSW needs a serious overhaul on AAR in several fronts, especially the basket not retracting after the tanker disconnects from the aircraft due to refueling completion ending up clipping/entering the cockpit. Besides that, other tankers are more than welcome, especially for time period accuracy. It is been a bit immersion breaking refueling the F-4E with the KC-135 on a scenario intended to be in the 70s at the moment.

I mean... It is not always about range, but to avoid that turn around time cycle an aircraft takes after landing if some serious CAP is going on. Netherlands also has the F-16, which is notorious to have small legs. (I know it was likely a joke)

joy pull back aircraft won't go up
Czar replied to johnnyxtheman's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs - General
You're not flying it properly. You don't have enough air speed to pull off this pitch angle and stick deflection. The beep is an AoA warning, it doesn't mean anything having more stick deflection aft before the AoA warning sounds. It is working as it should. Aim for 180+ kts for hard maneuvers and do them in smaller inputs. -
joy pull back aircraft won't go up
Czar replied to johnnyxtheman's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs - General
The beep is the AoA warning. When it does, it means you're essentially air breaking with the wings with how high the angle of attack is. If you hear it, you need to push the stick forward to be able to gain speed and stabilize the flight. At rotation, your plane went 20º+ nose up towards 40º later, the standard is only 10º Refer to the page 587 of the Warthog Manual for the take off numbers. ...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C_2\Doc or ...\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Doc: During takeoff roll, maintain directional control using nosewheel steering until flight controls become effective. Disengage nosewheel steering at 70 KIAS. At approximately 10 knots prior to takeoff speed, pull back on the control stick and establish a pitch angle of 10 degrees. Rotation is generally around 135 knots with a combat load. With pitch established at 10 degrees, let the aircraft fly itself off the runway. Do not yank back on the stick to get the aircraft airborne! It should read In:0 and out:0 (zero). A bit of lack of precision in the center is not the end of the world and you always can manually compensate. You might have a stick that's not properly centered/calibrated on the Y axis as you shown on the picture. You either need to calibrate, replace the stick or adjust manually or with trim in flight for the stick current calibration. Double check your bindings for trim as well. Don't forget to disable the 'game flight mode' in DCS options as that's not supported anymore. By looking at your video, the rotation was way too abrupt and your plane was already looking at 15º degree nose up before lift off. A couple of seconds later you were at 30º pitch. Refer to the manual and video references for the A-10C take off. Your reaction should be to push the stick forward. -

remove cockpit mod Whats happened to my mirrors?
Czar replied to markturner1960's topic in DCS: F-5E
'Refurbished Pit' is a mod. It has nothing to do with the product. It comes with 'default' and 'chinese', afaik.
