Lots of exciting / upcoming modules announced over the summer - Kola, Australia, Kfir, Herc etc… … would be good to have a home on the forums for chats on these

No, that’s not the way I heard it in the interview above - correct, ED haven’t announced, but it sounded (to me) that the under the tarp comment related to stuff that M3 & ED were working on collaboratively or ED led…

not planned or realistic Kola peninsula: a "must-have" unit
rkk01 replied to sith1144's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Absolutely this… No point having carrier Ops without ASW, incl SSN / SSK vs SSNBM -
Not necessarily a big deal for the other maps… but Kola inlet / Barents Sea without underwater cat and mouse would be missing the most important component. Even if sub v sub wasn’t doable (or lacked visual / game appeal) then any surface fleet action would absolutely need to include ASW element We are supposed to be getting an Oberon from Razbam - I’m not sure that anyone knows what the capabilities of these boats were, even 20-30 years on from decommissioning. The stories that seeped out during the 80s were / are either urban legend, almost entirely remain highly classified, or perhaps were in part allowed, if only to veil what the SSNs were capable of….? Either way, there’s more published material on the earlier RN SSNs Ops than there appears to be on the SSKs

Don’t forget that we have got / are getting a fairly good set of Cold War RN assets, which would be perfect for this map… Will be interesting to see if DCS / ORBX take on the challenge of the underwater environment. Classification will always be difficult, but as a minimum we would need to see some Soviet missile boats, as well a Los Angeles and a UK Valiant or S Class Of course, the S Atlantic subs could also find a home…

Kola Inlet - fab news… will need a core step change re naval assets and ASW / Cold War cat and mouse below the waves + amphib ops + recon and covert insertion / extraction

@BIGNEWY, @NineLine… Needs its own sub…

Fair enough - looked incredibly long as the camera panned around… and the double take on the EQ made me think they were trying to hint freezing the frame it looks like some of the length is actually the rear of the wing???
-
Wait is that an Exocet on the blue F4 EQ to port of Spunknockers aircraft on the start up vid…??? Looks very long
-
Some interesting snippets in there… … around 24 mins - working with ED, Marianas WW2, other assets… surely there’s a Zero in that mix? The “under the tarp” comment - unannounced ED content to launch with Marianas? Would certainly need more navy assets than just the Intrepid - USN DDs, BB, CL??? Assault fleet can presumably be reused from Normandy. IJN assets?? Also really, really pleased that RN FAA skins are planned, with possible RN ordnance to follow in EA

A Sea Fury would be great - as well as an Illustrious carrier (suitable home for Corsairs, might as well add a Seafire) Regarding Typhoons, Tempests and Furies… There were two distinct Tempests… I believe that the most commonly used WW2 Tempest was the Napier Sabre engined Tempest Mk. V. This Tempest is the one that resembles the Typhoon - H24 cyl Sabre engine, distinctive chin radiator Like the Sea Fury, the Tempest II didn’t see WW2 service - both are closely related with the powerful Bristol Centaurus engine

Is there a full list of release skins yet???

But…. ….. we don’t need to be limited by it Flying the Mosquito in the Patagonian fjord land is immensely enjoyable. Its not Norway, but play with the wind and weather settings and you have a dark brooding overcast with wind-lashed whitecaps 50’ below and towering mountains either side. That atmosphere gives the “suspension of disbelief”, as much as, or more than “right aircraft, right place, right opponents” Same goes for nightfighter or night intruder missions - ideally we’d want a Netherlands - N Germany - Denmark map, but it really doesn’t matter when the searchlights and flak are lighting up scattered cloud base over Caen or Cherbourg Waiting for the ideal “correct scenario” might be the perfect situation, but in doing so we deny ourselves so many hugely rewarding flight hours. Of course, everyone will have a different take on this, and each to their own However, if DCS want to provide us with a 262, then I will certainly buy one -
Continue the collaboration with True Grit… … HB two-seater + variable geometry experience… Plus TG European aircraft / systems and German pilot contacts / experience… ”Tonka Dream Team”

Excellent news that thing LOOKS fast

Mosquito PR.XVI Spitfire PR.XIX … although on a serious note, even a generic PR pod mod would be great for any / all aircraft. Have a range of pre-set camera angles to choose from - and essentially the output would be screenshots from that pre-set position
