Operation Fall Blau / Case Blue in 1942… Lots of action along the Caucasus mountain range and coast. As a student I met an old soldier who fought in the area, and he claimed to have reached as far as anyone in the German advance had reached. Many decades later my curiosity prompted me to research this, and I believe his unit fought along the Terek River to Mozdok and Malgobek. Timeline wise this would be summer 1942 through to winter 42/43, so a little before the DCS plane set, including the La7… Also, I understand that the Luftwaffe was withdrawn from the Caucasus to support 6th Army at Stalingrad, leaving the air open to the Soviets to harass German ground forces

Interesting aircraft… … but I think night Ops are pretty much “special interest” in DCS at the moment. I’ve tried using the Anton as a wilde sau nightfighter - which works quite well, although takeoff and landing without runway lights is difficult Rather than a P-61, IMO, a better approach would be to adapt the existing Mosquito and Ju-88 models to nightfighter versions (although FF fast Bomber versions of both would be even better)

No OB update as yet… ETA - unexpectedly excited about this module

That will depend on era of interest… Pre-1982, I guess not much on the Falklands? For the Falklands Conflict there are various books for the UK side which give some / scant info on Argentine positions - radar, Roland(?) SAM sites, OPs etc… Presumably “modern” is pretty much “as is”…?

Just picked up the “other” versions of the MB-339 and M-346 Not as and alternative to DCS … … just for a few flight hours

I just(*) want to sit up there ^^ and run through the start up for all FOUR Merlins… … and “recruit” my son as Flight Engineer to help push the four throttles (**) forward as we roll (*) - well not really… flying the Lanc and dropping ordnance etc etc as well (**) - adds four axis throttle to long wish list

A quick Google suggests both a good for circa 800kts at low level…?

SEPECAT Jaguar… Low level strike on the forthcoming Kola map F-104 would be an interesting choice, but we can really do with some more Euro models any of: Hawker Hunter English Electric Canberra Blackburn Buccaneer Hawker Sea Fury would also be a huge

Suez Canal could be an interesting strategic feature… Not sure if any canals have featured in DCS - would obviously need to be navigable… Supercarrier in the desert, anyone…?!

It is kind of worrying that the F4U Corsair sub has gone so quiet… … although the same could be said for all things WW2 Lets hope there’s a raft of new announcements pending, as we have seen for Cold War / jet era aviation.

N Africa - Malta - Italy Unashamedly a WW2 theatre, but with lots of operational variety and the very lovely desert and med camo schemes… Much better than pushing dev resources into DCS: Battle of Britain, IMHO As far as modern / Cold War, recent announcements and a few hints / assumptions have closed up some gaps jungle???

Biggest question for AviaStorm will be what they do with / how they implement the rear cockpit… (and when it’s ready for deployment)

Will be happy if we can use the German version as a GR1 - the classic Cold War low-level mission profile Some RAF liveries “in the box” would be perfect… but I’m sure there will be a host of squadron markings online in no time Of course, if the devs get bored / short of work, they can always add a TIALD pod
