Kind of sounds like the wind was disabled or something, i would imagine dropping mk82 from 10k be to very inaccurate surely, having said that i have never tried it myself..

I found the basic training campaign really good for learning the a10c. It teaches alot by repetition, and the rest i filled in with videos. I went to on to complete all the content for the a10, and it's my favourite module easily. I tried hornet but just can get into it really, thats all i bought. Once the a10c gets its upgrades, then i will fly 'the enemy within 3.0' and see how it goes, until then i have moved away from flying but still take half an hour per month to ramp start my a10 and refresh my skills a little, i find i can easily start the jet up and fly.

Same here, i never used the laste unless i was using dumb bombs, certainly never had an issue with jdams or laser guided bombs hitting the target with no wind data.

I cant remember what book it was, but i read that the canopy restricts air speed in some newer engine variants of the f-16, due to the polycarbonate softening and warping at high speed due to the heat generated, but still it's a nice view alright :D

I did the training, and it shows you where you should be touching down does it not? I cant think, check out recon stewarts old videos on youtube.. he covered these a while ago.

DCS really needs better weather etc, so many clear blue skies and the odd cloud around just isnt anywhere near realistic.

You can load whatever you like, no penalty. 6 Mavericks really slows your a-10 though..

Its certainly easier in some ways, it doesn't have the long press/short press nature that the a10c does, i really struggled with that to begin with.

Have to agree, feels a little odd having it 'viper'. Would prefer fighting falcon but i'm not going to loose sleep over it..

I wouldn't be waiting on the a10c update, probably just needs higher tex setting in the configuration.

Probably better to use mark points, just select & drop when in range etc

If it's coming up with launch inhibit, you may be too far out of the keyhole to lock. In other words, the target needs to be pretty close to the line of sight of the missile to lock it up. Best line it up in a shallow dive rather than flying straight and level.. TMS up short is the correct button press for locking the missile.

There never is any impact, you can ignore the atc at will in dcs as its a joke ;)

I understand your frustrations, i was the same but pressed on through. It is an effective way to learn through repetition, you can skip missions by editing the logbook lua, once you get through there is a great sense of achievement, at least for me ;)

Ha yeah i'm sure most of us just wait for the red triangle and hook that up on the TAD. To be honest, i used to ignore most of the 9-line information, apart from the co-ords which i didnt mind keying into the cdu, stuff like the ingress and egress points i ignored and just turned in on the target ;)

So i can use the same script and edit for different cockpit displays? What else can i export from the hornet cockpit?

Using the wingman to engage air defences is the single thing i do as he spots them much quicker than i do. Also keep an eye on the tad and learn how to use it to spot theats, once the wingman starts to engage, his spi shows on the tad and you can then slew your sensors to that point and mark it and help him engage if possible. Very powerful tool is the TAD.

I love the A10c, it's the only aircraft i have any hours on really. But im at the end of the content, and im looking for another challenge,i dont fly online. I do have the hornet, and prob will go to that in the coming weeks. One thing i wont miss from the a10c is that dam beeping when you pull slightly too much G, god thats annoying :D But i will miss how easy the hotas is to operate and of course it's matched perfectly to the TM hotas, which was the reason i bought it in the first place. It will be hard to let go..

Dont waste your ammo on tanks, save it for the other stuff as others have said. Only if you have nothing left give it a go, otherwise, cbu's and mavs etc
