Not sure I understand what you mean, but my thinking is that it would be up to the server owner to add the skin or not and maybe each skin could only be in use by one layer at a time? that way you don't see exact copies of the same aircraft. I'll try to explain a little bit better: So my first request would be a generalized mission option to enable or disable repaints overall...So you could decide if people could repaint their aircraft or not without doing number 2: An option per aircraft to have in-game repainting enabled or disabled. I think having both options would be nice and give both mission designers and players as many options as possible. Hope that helps! :thumbup:
  2. Two things that I'd like to see with that: 1) Mission option (enable/disable in-game repaint) 2) Unit specific option and/or override (enable/disable in-game repaint for this unit/group) If something like that could be done, I'm all for it!
  3. This poll was the top four aircraft for a few years, then they added more. I think its mainly the vocal switch clickers that don't want super-modern aircraft...? Personally, I think the Raptors systems could be done (there can't be that much to it, really...), but the flight model is a big mystery...That would take some serious work...SFMs are generally unacceptable for people here, so I feel that's the hang-up with that aircraft. I personally don't care, I just want more aircraft in the sim. :joystick: As an F-14 pilot once asked about the DCS Hornet: Will ED put it in its proper position...Behind a tanker? :megalol: I'd be fine with an FC3 style Raptor, even if it were an SFM...Hell, put the 'sack on it too and make it fair-ish. :)

If you're fast/nose down enough, you have the double beeper (activates at ~7.7-7.8 g, IIRC) to judge stuff...Otherwise, keep your cross check going well - Except when in the first turn after the merge, usually you don't want to look down then...IDK, I always lose tally, lol. :doh: To perhaps answer your question a bit better, I believe 22 AOA is usually the max for a rate fight...Anything over that and I *think* you're losing knots, usually...Depends on weight and stuff...
  10. The ER in-game, IIRC, has more drag then the 7, but it also has a crazy long burn time and a lot of thrust...It goes pretty darn far... Really, your only option is to play proper BVR as a flight of coordinated humans... Maneuver and look for unobserved entry opportunities!!
  11. That is excellent advice, if you're in the WEZ (Weapon Employment Zone), expect a shot!!! As for the OP, personally, I think learning some missile defense stuff in FC3 jets (where you'll have lots of SA and stuff) then learning it in the MiG-21 is a good idea. In general, its hard to build SA in the Fish', so learning how to do that, in a few different platforms, might help you. Alternatively, get Tacview, maybe some friends, and go reinvent the air to air wheel! :joystick: ;)
  12. ^This It seriously helps with roll/yaw rate deficiencies at low speed high AOA stuff; the problem is that the spool time is so long for low to high RPM changes that you might not be able to stop a spin with the engine inside the turn...

  14. It doesn't have anything to do with being a two-seater or not. I think the training Raptor was developed a bit then canned in the 97-99 period, so the new one will probably be an F-22C, imo.

  23. They've been 'inop' for a while, AFAIK...I *think* the real radar mainly uses the TDC for that...?
  24. Is that an F-15A or C? The C had structural improvements, for example, a 9g design limit, instead of 7.33 like the original F-15As. I wonder what the design/structural max G margin is on these things...I'm assuming 1.5, but I don't really know...
  25. It was the F-4 *pilots* that couldn't dogfight - Not the jet itself! :) (That's something they always miss, the internet people always go for lack of A/C performance and the gun issues...) As for the F-35, well, they say it handles like the Hornet there, but with better acceleration and climb...Add in unobserved entries, excellent weapons, jamming, and some other things - Sounds like a decent ACM'r to me.
