Hm. But why then advertise NOE flying with it? I assumed it´s mainly meant for not only rough terrain, but water primarily...setting a "safe" 30m radar alt and cruising along the waterline...But I am unsure. I wonder if we will hear about it in a patchnote.

Mirage F1 can carry two Sidewinder or Magic II on wingtip pylons and two 530Fs on underwing pylons. So 4, just like M2KC. Maybe there have been modifications to carry more Magic IIs by other countries, just like M2KC (where the 4 Magic option is not available on French machines but Greek etc.) The large missiles seen in the images are not any A2A missile I´m familiar with, and nothing out of the 530 family. They might be A2G missiles.

More whacky fun with planes - Su-33 Edition.
Chrinik replied to HolyMackeral's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
But now the nose wheel actually steers further. It can turn almost 90° I assume, to turn it almost in place for carrier deck operation. It´s just that the implementation and visuals are wrong. -
Unfortunately, taking a break from releasing modules and fixing on the base core, while appreciated, does not make them money and is thus unsustainable. They have to keep making the dosh so they can keep making free stuff for us.

Rudder trim moves the rudder, even with no airflow...
Chrinik replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Are you sure it´s not a mechanical system that does directly affect the rudder position? -
Most throttles to my understanding have this detent for afterburners for example...yet you see no module requiring any complex task by the player to access the AB, now do you? It will probably be similar.

Press Shift+Enter I believe (or maybe ctrl+enter...) to activate the control input visualizer, this should tell you if one of your inputs is giving an erronious command, like maybe your rudder pedals are stuck. Then check the mission settings if there is any wind. Lastly, post a video, it´s really hard to diagnose a "pull to the left" without knowing what it looks like.

Stock there is about a 20% difference in single threaded performance between 3770K and 6700K primarily because of the 500mHz clock speed difference, OC that 3770K and you can gain some parity, altho the Skylake can pull ahead again with OC. Mine pulls 4.6 easily but I run it at 4.5. Kabylake is just a faster skylake, so the higher clockspeeds are a given performance up. Sandy-Bridge overclocked like a champ, don´t know what the maximum headroom on Ivy-bridge is, but I see a bunch of 4.5gHz results...that´s a start.
-
There might be your problem. Try overclocking the chip, since your slow clockspeed is holding you back alot. I however, am curious how you are running DDR4 with a 3770K?

I noticed a massive improvement switching to a 1080ti from a 1080, but I don´t play in VR. I´d suggest you get MSI Afterburner with the Riva tuner and let it show you system loads while in game. If the GPU is running at 99%, you are GPU bottlenecked, if your CPU is running at 100%, you are CPU bottlenecked, if your memory is maxed out, you don´t have enough RAM and it has to write the files to a storage drive (much slower) so both GPU and CPU are waiting for the data... And post your full system specs. No, that CPU is more than capable of pushing 90fps when paired with a decent GPU...people are still using Sandy-Bridge to game. But then again, DCS is very CPU bound, newer CPUs and DDR4 RAM might give it a performance boost? Hard to say without diagnostics.

More like "they got permission to do it because it´s been recently retired and we got lucky" but I get the sentiment XD Remember, the dev "wanting" to do something and being "able" to do something are two sides of the story that don´t have to align :music_whistling:

Old steam key versions will still be viable to be used with the standalone, only newly purchased modules are locked. I would recommend switching to the standalone, it doesn´t give valve a 30% cut so more revenue to the dev that made the module aswell, usually better sales, bonus points, and earlier access (if desired) to new modules or beta and alpha clients. So you can still switch without losing anything. But you can stay on steam if you want, I just think it doesn´t add anything useful to DCS.

Weren´t the last modules ED released the L39 and Spitfire?
-
Short answer: No. Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Also, why? Do you want to fight even less in the F15? You already got a BVR Missile that fights for you, you also want a short ranger?

We make gameplay concessions all the time, especially in multiplayer. "80ies scenario" with A-10C? Nobody seems to have a problem with those. So if our beloved Hornet is going to be excluded from limited loadout servers because it doesn´t have "phased out" Aim-7s or other, older weapons, that would be hugely disappointing to me. I´ll take what they give me, but the ability to "stand in" for older lagacy Hornets by tweaking the available arsenal would be a nice option to have. Also the ability to play around with different weapon eras and compare them, etc. If, however, the Lot20 is incompatible with these weapons entirely for some reason, then no, leave them out.
-
And because it seems more useful, this is exactly the way it works  In AACQ modes, the Radar follows fixed patterns, in VS (vertical scan) it literally just scans vertically along your lift vector, whichever direction you might be pointing it right now :smilewink:

On the topic of Iranian Tomcats & Russian Weapons
Chrinik replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Why do they have to be old, beat up, out of spare parts, used for 30 years models just to represent "Iranian" F-14s? They had been new and fully featured at some point. Apart from the usedlook on some of our liveries and cockpit textures, all DCS aircraft operate as if factory fresh, unless specifically kneecapped by random system failures, but noone does that because then people would cry and not fly on that server. I, for one, would love a "hardcore scenario" server every once in a while, where your plane "might" malfunction, weapons and airframes are limited and so on...could be cool. But other than that, all DCS aircraft are as if perfectly preserved from a specific time slice. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
Chrinik replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
The video specifically shows the fighter to fighter capability...there is no AWACs in that example. Only works with AI wingman for whatever reason. Apart from AWACs, there is a ground Radar unit that also works with it. Could be used to replace the current ones and 27s would have DL with them. -

Chrinik replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
In Singleplayer missions it works as intended, giving you Radar information of your entire flight. It even has specific symbology to differentiate your own, and your buddies contacts. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9
Chrinik replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I think it has always been in to some extend...I remember way back when the Mirage was only a couple months old I played around with the flightmodel using a fully fueled and armed Mirage, flipped the switch and pulled, I pulled 90° AOA and snapped the right wing off... Certainly nothing was shooting at me since I was on an empty map all by myself. Also, on the D2M system, since it´s attached to the Magic Pylon, I thought they didn´t add the old Magic Pylons in for us to choose? I can only select on Magic missle type per pylon and unless you can just break it using random system failures, I don´t know how to turn it off. And I thought the Flanker fighter2fighter datalink doesn´t work in MP between clients? Even in custom servers I´ve never seen it work, and I never heard it working in conjunction with ground radar, only with AWACs... -
Conventional wisdom is to put the targets flight vector indicator (the little square) into said interception circle when firing 530s to give the missile an optimal launch without much turning needed off the rail. Practical application holds this to be true. Missile barely jerks when firing there.

How about you don´t pull too much AoA, starving the engine of air and thus thrust and producing incredible drag from your delta wing design and thus keep your energy and speed where it should be? And how about you don´t compare yourself to AI that uses simple flight models. I did guns-only dogfights against a very good SU-27 pilot in DCS and managed to beat him 2-1...Just don´t be too stick heavy. Also, if you are having trouble, keep the AOA limiter in stores mode, you won´t overturn then. If you do find yourself with no energy, NOSE DOWN IMMEDIATELY and hope you have altitude left...the engine is, as I said, air-starved at high AoAs so simply pointing the nose up and expecting the engine to perform magic for you ain´t gonna cut it. The drag may be too high, but it´s not like it can´t be counteracted easily by more sensible flying. --All statements refer to current M2000 build--

Yes, ED knows. Turn it off in the meantime.
