  1. If the JTAC gives you coordinates you can use pre-mode.
  2. Hmm.. I haveb't done it but I feel like that should be quite possible to do in DCS. With some practice mind you.
  3. Viper is easier. I know them both. Better HOTAS means less need to take hands off. The DED + ICP system in viper is more efficient and intuitive in use, once you bind the keys to the keyboard. Take entering a waypoint as an example. Especially Air to Air the viper much more intuitive. Hornet radar has way to many MFD buttons you need to press and options you don't need. Although the Hornet radar is much better once you master it.
  4. You may want to try again. As long as you have one missile left on the plane you can switch between them with the wpn button. You can even see me doing it in the track I shared. And since you can also see me switch between the 3 missiles in the track your claim here makes no sense. Maybe you didn't watch the whole track? I don't know.
  5. I watched your track and I see you used the UFC to switch between the missiles after you had launched them all. If that is how it's supposed to be so be it. But it seems weird to me that the easy way to switch works fine for 3/4 missiles but once you launch the last one that button just becomes inoperable.
  6. Thanks for explaining the pairing logic. I wasn't aware of that. However. I still feel there is an issue here. I've uploaded another track. What I do here is I pair 3 of 4 missiles first. I then ripple them off. As long as I keep the 4th missile on the plane I can switch between the 3 missiles that are in the air using the WPN button on the DL page. But once I let go of the last missile that button becomes dead. Even though I have 3 paired missiles in the air that I was able to switch between before launching the last missile. This doesn't seem like intended behavior to me. Although if you say it is then I will gladly accept that. I'll just have to make sure I always keep one missile until the other 3 have hit. 7. I'm assuming this is for situations where you know where an enemy is through other means like datalink or AWACS calls. Then there is absolutely value in not alerting the enemy to your presence until you are within missile range.
  8. I would argue that moving the beam is an operation which probably takes longer than hitting a button.
  9. When all SLAMERs have been launched I can no longer choose DL channels. track included. Air launch. SLAMERissue.trk
  10. Is there a reason not to just silence the radar instead?

    F-15E Jester?

I can see why some may want it but I don't see why the module needs it. You can do everything from the front seat, apart from turning on the RWR and TGP. It no more needs it than a hornet or viper IMHO.
  12. I can say that it doesn't happen for me with a virpil. I also tend to depress the first stage in preparation for a gun shot.
  13. Someone should mod this so it looks like a severed neck.
  14. If up against intelligent(players) enemies I don't think you will ever "know" much. It's all about anticipation. Like a game of chess. Fire an amraam early which you know will not hit but it will force him to do something. But he has done the same probably. So you need to do something. But when to turn back in? Too early and you eat a missile. Too late and he will gain the advantage... I don't know. This is why I stick to shooting AIs. Then you just climb to 40k feet, launch the amraam at 40nm and they will usually eat it.
  15. Throttle to idle -> wait for 300kts IAS -> gear down, flaps full , hook down(if carrier landing) -> when it starts ballooning counter with forward stick -> below 200 kts speed will start dropping fast so start countering with throttle -> when you no longer have to push stick forward to stop the ballooning start trimming pitch up gradually until you get to on-speed AoA -> engage auto-throttle -> keep FPV on landing spot -> rest is smooth sailing. That's how I do it. Works every time(at least 90% of the time). The part that needs practice is the transition from ballooning, where you need forward stick, to where it starts dropping like a rock. You need to predict that and start throttling up early to check the speed drop.
  16. What about gbu laser codes? So far it has been possible to change this code in-flight in the hornet(and warthog). Will this change now?(From what I've been told it should not be possible in any plane.)
  17. For me it is helpfull to press IFF-out(or in, can't remember). This hides all the datalink stuff from the FCR page. Now you can only see what the radar sees. When the radar has just picked up a target it will look like a RWS contact. Don't press tms-right at this point. You have to wait until it becomes a tracked target(usually happens when the radar has swept past the contact once or twice.). Tracked targets are filled boxes. These will become system targets when you tms right. System targets are empty boxes. Tms right will cycle between these. Instead of pressing TMS right to upgrade all tracked targets to system targets you can cherry-pick tracked targets by pressing tms up on them. So if you have 6 tracked targets and you know you only want to shoot 2 of them, press tms up on those two. Then you can use tms right to cycle between those specific ones.
  18. Type the number of the waypoint you want it to point at in the scratchpad and then click pushbutton 17(number four from the left on the top row of the MFD) on the TGP screen.
  19. Atflir takes an Amraam station. Also the Litening is in a better spot regarding masking. The Atflir gets masked by ordnance more easily. So I prefer Litening.
  20. I believe setting EID Auto ID disables AAI Auto ID making that step unnecessary if you want to have it on EID Auto ID. Bear in mind that they are functionally identical.
  21. It seems Razbam made the choice for you since they make both the harrier and strike eagle.
  22. In Vis/DTOS modes, and also HUD Markpoint mode, Tms up Long will slave SPI to HMCS so you can look at something on the ground and set your SPI there. HUD needs to be SOI for it to work I believe.
  23. Tomcat is awesome but I hate flying it because it's multi-crew and me and Jester don't get along. Have you considered the JF-17? It's like the F16s weaker, quirkier but more intelligent little brother.
  24. I've been trying some dogfights with the mig29 AI but they keep going stupid on me. It's kind of hard to test out turn rates and stuff against the AI when they keep doing this. I've attached a track to show the issue. AI being stupid.trk
  25. It still skips bombs when changing stations making it impossible to pre-program all the bombs. It's typically not a huge problem since you can select the skipped bombs after the other bombs have been dropped but still can be a little annoying.
