Mig-19 Landing Gear Lever LOCK not stopping the Gear lever
Volator replied to Jags1041's topic in Bug Reports
Confirmed. -
Knowing the mag var for a certain map/time frame is very important. I'd rather like to see this information on the F10 map, but on the kneeboard would be fine too.

ME option: Changing static aircraft bort numbers
Volator replied to Volator's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Seeing we currently have 262 pages in the DCS wishlist section... does it actually make any difference to post wishes here? Does ED take note of them? -
Absolutely. As much fun as the MiG-21 is, there's more than just artwork that needs an overhaul. Some things have been mentioned here already, and there is more. Don't waste too much time in trying to fix the old code or improve it superficially for no financial return, better invest the time to do it all nice and clean from scratch in accordance with current standards. I'll happily pay for a version 2 of that magnificient plane that has been a backbone of DCS for so long.

That could certainly be an option, but it would probably cause a lot of confusion in MP. Maybe giving the server host an option to choose what to display could be a solution.

I agree, but if this briefing room is the first sign of proper/complete mission planning and briefing tools coming to DCS eventually, i.e. the cart will eventually lead to a horse being put in front, I'm fine with that. Let's hope for the best.

F10 map should show the in-game tactical callsigns (Enfield 1-1, 711, ...) instead of "callsigns" chosen by players to add to realism and atmosphere when there is a human GCI/AWACS. That way he/she wouldn't have to adress callsigns like " 'Da Tr1ck5ter" or similar nonsense.

Cockpit indicator lights stay on even after turning off power.
Volator replied to LowRider88's topic in Bug Reports
Can confirm. Gun ready lights and external load (bombs/tanks) lights remain on after complete shutdown. Notice that the voltmeter shows voltage even though battery switch is off, no external power applied. -
Well, firing up DCS again and opening control settings from the main menu seems to have worked, thanks for the hint.
-
Is this a bug or sth messed up on my side? Most kneeboard controls are highlighted and cannot be used, most importantly "Next page" and "Previous page"
-
Most probably this: I'd also add the crazy pitch oscillations at lower speeds, but opinions differ there.

Requesting an option in the mission editor to change static aircraft bort numbers to allow for more realistic sceneries, i.e. assigning realistic bort numbers to static aircraft that were actually used by an air force on a certain airframe.

Hi, the faction GDR (still) has wrong callsigns and comms. In the sim it can only have western / NATO callsigns, even when it's assigned to REDFOR. It also has English comms in-game. This is not realistic. As a Warsaw Pact ally, the GDR faction used numerical callsigns just like the Soviets, and the main communication language in aviation was Russian too, so it should have that in the sim as well. Screenie and track attached. GDR_English_comms.trk

Livery request for a potiental F-4D or a what if 523rd
Volator replied to upyr1's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Yes, dedicated, separate livery threads to bundle all the various ideas and requests might be useful here. -

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you... Phinally! The dream comes true.

I think now that the horde has moved on this server has actually become more enjoyable lately. It is also getting better with the new Cold War modules. Empty is not good of course, but "full" also has certain downsides. *Edit* 23 players on at 20:30 UTC. Not bad, nothing to worry about.

As a mission designer you can/must assign a callsign to aircraft in the mission. You can also assign bort numbers for aircraft, but they can be changed in an MP mission in the loading screen. Callsigns cannot be changed. In order to make use of realistic, individual numerical code callsigns as used in the Warsaw Pact in MP missions (where the mission designer does not know in advance which pilot is selecting which aircraft) could you please add the option in the rearm/refuel screen to also change the three-digits code callsign to have proper interaction with AI ATC and GCI (at least for REDFOR aircraft where pilot IDs are the callsigns)
