  1. Road Bridge Taree NSW in EXP3
  2. Be nice to get some IIRAF F14 schemes as select able skins in the ME
  3. You mean undesignate :) If CCIP is the underlying PROG mode when you undesignate then Yes you will get CCIP symbology. If you entered AUTO by way of AUTO as your PROG mode it will revert to Undesignated AUTO with a "designation" reticle at the VV position if current Dive angle is >7.5 deg or if less a Reticle at 7.5 deg with Chain line to VV..... waiting for you to redsignate. So if you want the Flexibility of CCIP to be there immediately on undesignation then you should set your PROG mode to CCIP. If you designate you go straight into AUTO (though CCIP will still be shown on the SMS display as your PROG mode). If the TDC is assigned to the HUD AGR should always be in operation (if you dont have a Pod of LST )
  4. HUD designations can be done sort of in the Sim at present but the mechanization is incorrect. In the SIM you currently need the ARM Master on to be able to Designate with the pickle switch. This is incorrect the ARM master has nothing to do with designations. In addition anytime you designate anything the WYPT button on the HI will read TGT and be boxed (at present with a HUD designation it stays as WYPT.) with the TD diamond displayed on the map at the TGT position. IRL there are 2 variants of the HUD designation, one related to AUTO weapons delivery and the other to straight out designation of anything that can be done in AG or NAV master modes and uses the TDC not the Pickle button. HUD RETICLE DESIGNATION (Pickle button) This is associated with AG mode and weapon release. With the TDC assigned to the HUD (dot in VV) and AUTO the current programmed delivery mode the designation reticle is displayed at the VV position or depressed at 7.5degrees if current dive angle <7.5deg. The pilot flies the reticle pipper to the point of interest and presses (and holds) the pickle button the TD diamond appears AUTO symbology appears and the pilot completes the release, operationally this is referred to as "AUTO POINT BLANK" and is generally used for Dive or Dive Toss delivery's. HUD TD DESIGNATION (TDC) This is available in AG modes and NAV modes. To designate first ensure the TDC is assigned to the HUD (dot in VV). To get the designation working press and release the TDC. A segmented TD diamond will appear in the HUD ... exactly where follows a protocol ... in its most basic form the TD diamond will appear at the VV if Dive angle ?7.5 degress if <7.5 degrees it will be displayed at 7.5 degrees. Once you have the segmented TD diamond displayed you can no action slew as required. Again WYPT on the HI will become a boxed TGT.
  5. With the TDC Assigned to the HUD (Dot in VV) a momentary press of the TDC should result in a HUD designation the initial position of the TD diamond will vary on a number of factors. Once its there though you can slew either Action or No action to refine the designation. This is independent of any other sensor allowing visual designation. It cant be done in the Sim at the moment but I am pretty sure it will come along in the future.
  6. Same as No action slew just needs more uncomfortable finger work and is intrinsically less accurate since holding the TDC depressed and moving is awkward in comparison to direct No action slewing. Either way a conscious key press to activate No action slewing or a Depress and hold TDC to action slew is required ... prevents a random slew if the TDC were bumped.
  7. I have no issues using either Point Blank Designation (HUD VV) or via a NAVDSG/WYPT designation. There are a couple of errors in the mechanization. With TDC Assigned to the HUD you can slew the TD diamond directly with the TDC. This is slightly in error. Slewing the TD diamond IRL can occur in two states with TDC depressed known as "Action slewing" and with the TDC not depressed called "No action slewing". This is the preferred method. IRL as its ergonomically a lot easier to slew the diamond without having to hold the TDC depressed as well. To enable No action slewing the TDC is pressed momentarily, this segments the TD diamond indicating that No action slewing is available. The pilot can then slew as required. The real benefit is that the instant the slew is stopped a ranging sample is taken immediately to update the solution. For this reason it is beneficial to do a "micro slew" as late as possible. Currently it doesn't seem you can tell the sim to hold the TDC down and slew it just assumes the TDC is depressed so you can slew to your hearts content. A momentary press of the TDC will segment the TD diamond and slew works ok. So in essence you can no action slew in the sim without the TDC depressed something you cant do in the jet ..... might be a key binding limitation. To me Slew resolution is now an issue. In the HUD its now hard to slew super accurately. Previously it was much finer but a change occurred with people complaining about lethargic Radar Cursor slew rates. The radar cursor slew rates have been increased ... to the detriment of super precise HUD TD slewing. As to accuracy well be sure you are tracking the ASL accurately if performing Dive Toss or Toss ensure your G is constant, and of course ensure your Designation is precise. Its a fact of life the longer the slant range accuracy diminishes, dumb bombs from 20K don't expect pickle barrel accuracy.
  8. From the same Tanking sequence :)
  9. AUTO has full Vertical and lateral Toss capabilities (if the you are above the target) Attached file shows example of TOSS. Release cue is a appearing late (WIP) should appear when Solution is possible before 45 deg NU. Toss2.trk
  10. Once an FCI always an FCI :)
  11. When Hornets were pure .... before they started growing fences and bumps :)
  12. Normal Operation, subterranean attacks are not considered :)
  13. No Rdr LOS is different to Seeker LOS depending on intercept geom. Its like this in the Real jet. The separation in fact confirms that the missile is in self track and not just being slaved by the radar
  14. Target Aspect vector and 3G or greater Turn tail is bugged at present.
  15. Danke Drag in PA mode is being looked at :)
  16. "More importantly, if it's not implemented, that is fine, but BIT-MI needs to be implemented as the real-world workaround." What Memory Inspect is required? I am presuming an entry ?
  17. BLIN ? Bit Logic Inspection Number
  18. The trim readout is a "relatively" new Software feature. Not sure if its timeline wise accurate for the software loads as depicted in the Sim. We need info as to exactly when this feature became operational on the C. It went Operational on the E/F model with Software MC OFP H3E around 2008 ish
  19. As the Wingman turn your Form lights up to max it will bathe your lead with glorious green glow ... easily enough to use your day time references :)
  20. In the Mirage III it was typical to hit the circuit (VFR) at 130gall remaining .... enough for 2 circuits.
  21. A simple method is directly abeam the point on final you want to roll wings level at
  22. RAAF Initial 400Kts (5 sec interval) Circuit 1500ft Wingtip down the rwy for spacing. Base Turn VV 7 deg down correcting to 3 deg as you roll out on final Throttle drives AOA Stick drives Flight path put VV on aimpoint Mini flare landing Touch and go Mil Gear up Flaps Auto after Take Off

    IFF

The IFF interrogation can be set up in various ways to provide specific Mode interrogations more or less automatically etc or can be commanded to specifically interrogate a target with manual initiation by the pilot. All of this takes time. I suggest all you are seeing in this video is the time taken by the IFF/DL etc to do its stuff then display the hostile TD diamond.
