  2. Interesting. I was wondering why, during a BVR engagement with another Hornet AI wingman, he was firing his 120C at 36 miles out when my cockpit launch perimeters for my 120c's were still not even close to advising a shot.

  4. Yes, you are correct. I use a 55 inch 4K TV with very low input lag and I do not use any AA in DCS and it looks good enough for me. I use a 1070 SC card and my frames (in 2.5.5) with mostly high settings are really good. 2.5.6 frames are worse for sure, but I don't typically drop below 30 fps and can keep 60 in many circumstances that are up at altitude.

  6. AACQ does not perform NCTR *Bump* Noticed this today as well, on all maps in the Hornet. AACQ locks to STT do not produce a NCTR result.

  8. Hey, buddy. Would you do a test for me? Would you use the 'create a mission" feature, go to 'advanced' and then make sure all the unit settings on the right, for Red and Blue forces are set to MAX. Then, go into the Mission Editor and use the "Unit" feature and tell me how many total units there are.... and then fly the mission and give us a FPS performance report? I'm curious how a system like yours can handle 200/250+ units. I'm particularly curious how your rig performs when Red and Blue ground forces converge and start shooting at each other. My rig is only moderate in comparison to yours, but in 2.5.6, when ground forces start shooting, my FPS drop dramatically (this is when I'm flying the Hornet). In 2.5.5, this wasn't a problem.   9. For sure, but we're not talking about thousands of units moving around. We're talking about less than 400. Honestly 200 units in 2.5.6 brings things to a grinding halt with medium/high setting. Note, I'm a 4K player, though. I think DCS at 1080p works really well. Again, this can be remedied somewhat, I think, with a really aggressive Vulkan implementation.
  10. Without a MAJOR Vulkan implementation in DCS, I can't see new weather+Dynamic Campaign ever happening successfully. Right now, in 2.5.6, with 300 - 400 units on the entire map, FPS come to a single digit crawl on my (not terrible, but moderately good) system.
  11. There is no "greatly improved" performance for me (though I did have one saved mission that performed a little better than in the previous 2.5.6 patches). I play in 4K, non-VR.
  12. ***Forgot to mention above: this test mission plays beautifully in the latest 2.5.5 Stable branch, averaging about 50 FPS with all the same graphics settings.
  13. Hey, NineLine. Here's a mission I created today using the mission generator to highlight the bizarre/painful performance issues that crop up in the latest 2.5.6 OB in the SW region of the Persian Gulf map. My frames dropped to as low as 7 FPS and averaged about 15 FPS. What is odd is, when I then pause the game, frames jump up immediately to 55/60 FPS... even with exterior camera panning, trackIR movement, etc. Could you and the team please test?   21. Can you imagine what a dynamic campaign would do to FPS performance with 2.5.6's current state?!? Good thing that feature is probably three or more years out. :)
