  1. For sure, but we're not talking about thousands of units moving around. We're talking about less than 400. Honestly 200 units in 2.5.6 brings things to a grinding halt with medium/high setting. Note, I'm a 4K player, though. I think DCS at 1080p works really well. Again, this can be remedied somewhat, I think, with a really aggressive Vulkan implementation.
  2. Without a MAJOR Vulkan implementation in DCS, I can't see new weather+Dynamic Campaign ever happening successfully. Right now, in 2.5.6, with 300 - 400 units on the entire map, FPS come to a single digit crawl on my (not terrible, but moderately good) system.
  3. There is no "greatly improved" performance for me (though I did have one saved mission that performed a little better than in the previous 2.5.6 patches). I play in 4K, non-VR.
  4. ***Forgot to mention above: this test mission plays beautifully in the latest 2.5.5 Stable branch, averaging about 50 FPS with all the same graphics settings.
  5. Hey, NineLine. Here's a mission I created today using the mission generator to highlight the bizarre/painful performance issues that crop up in the latest 2.5.6 OB in the SW region of the Persian Gulf map. My frames dropped to as low as 7 FPS and averaged about 15 FPS. What is odd is, when I then pause the game, frames jump up immediately to 55/60 FPS... even with exterior camera panning, trackIR movement, etc. Could you and the team please test? I do not use any mods. Thanks! MG TEST.miz
  6. So here's the point: in 2.5.5, one did not have to turn the shadows off, but now one does to get equal performance? This is not progress. Keep bug squashing...
  7. This is not simply a VR problem either. Performance is worse for us 2D players as well.
  8. AV8B or F-16? Hornet for sure.
  9. Hey, buddy. What resolution (or VR?) are you playing at and what are your graphics settings? Thanks.
  10. Very true. I have zero interest in the stick. But that throttle...
  11. My most eagerly awaited plane is the FPS-60 Optimizer. Fingers crossed for that one.
  12. For sure! The FPP is first rate. Although, this is my all time favorite F-15 specific podcast: https://omegataupodcast.net/224-flying-the-f-15-eagle/ OmegaTau has some cool aviation episodes among other topics, but this F-15 interview is SO interesting.
  13. Can you imagine what a dynamic campaign would do to FPS performance with 2.5.6's current state?!? Good thing that feature is probably three or more years out. :)
  14. "Not a pound for Air to Ground" I'll leave this right here...
  15. I fly the hornet exclusively, because of time and it's brilliant.
  16. Good work, Worrazen! I've noticed this smoke/exhaust-FPS-killer for quite some time (even before 2.5.6). Hope this helps the Devs iron some performance stuff out.
  17. Man, I just really love the Hornet! It was probably my third or fourth favorite jet until Wags & Co. brought it into my basement...Now, probably my number one.
  18. This would be AWESOME for the helo guys. A SAR mission option would be a lot of fun... and I'm not even a helo guy.
  19. Cylon, judging from his avatar pic and most of his comments, I wouldn't take him very seriously or even respond to anything he says.
  20. Interesting, stuff. Thanks for the efforts, Toutenglisse.
  21. Nah, the trees look great: striking a good balance between look and performance (2.5.6 performance hit aside :))
  22. Not sure what to tell you? The Hornet radar is working BEAUTIFULLY for me! It is probably my favorite feature of the Hornet.
  23. Yesterday, on the Caucasus map in the latest 2.5.6 open beta, my hornet was smoking black like a chimney idling on the runway before takeoff AND at 16,000 feet in full after burner. This is not correct, I'm pretty sure.
