Help with setting up CH gear in DCS Options
104th_Crunch replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I did one that moved the zoom controls and the TrackIR center keys to the throttle. That way I could use the same trim hat that the A-10C uses. That was my only real change, but it was a bit of work. When I have some time in the next few days I will post it here. -

Glad to hear you back up! Sorry, I never use the save function in DCS. I just back up my saved games folder. -
Help with setting up CH gear in DCS Options
104th_Crunch replied to AKA_Clutter's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Negative. They may not be in the same order. The order is as you said, the order they appear in CH Control Manager. Go in to CH Manger and test your controllers. Make sure all the axes show movements. If that is ok, and all your controllers show up in the Windows Game Controller applet, you should be good. If those are okay you are not understanding how to setup the controllers in DCS. It sounds like you do know how though. So, if those 2 are okay, try deleting your DCS save game folder in case the problem is DCS. It's under my doucuments/saved games/DCS. -

What ever you see in the Windows Game Controller applet that is in Windows Control Panel, is what you will see in DCS. -
Shkval Pro Throttle Mini-Stick <Crunch>
104th_Crunch replied to ErichVon's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Hi ErichVon, Yes, there is no more setting within DCS, or FC as well now, to use a mouse for slewing anything. I have good results though by doing the following: 1) Instead of the Ministick controlling the mouse, in CH Manager make the X&Y axes of the Ministick, joystick axes instead ('CM Device 2' for both X&Y). 2) In CH Manager get rid of the curves for the X&Y axes of the Ministick. Make them straight lines. 3) in DCS, do not use a custom 'User Curve' any longer. Just set up X&Y axes of the Ministick like the picture attached. I find the control pretty good now. -
Welcome back. I plan to be active again this week as well. Hope to catch ya online.

The standard flight modelling does not allow the fine trimming as far as I know.

Stop passwording every DCSW server

Good question GG!!! One I have no time to think about right now lol, but I hope someone is working on that one :) -
Stop passwording every DCSW server
104th_Crunch replied to JABO2009's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
In a way this point is moot I think. All fighters are at FC level anyway. If it is a DCS A-10C against a FC F-15, what does it matter? Now, when there is a DCS F-15 vs a FC F-15, there may be an issue. Even then, I would more than welcome the chance to be in my DCS F-15 and shoot down a FC F-15!! -

Well, Frostie says it all there just about. I would add many that fly FC are also very competent in DCS. Also FC is a good gateway to DCS. I would welcome easy setting severs, even if I wouldn't participate in them. More servers, more choice, larger community. -

The occurence of passworded servers will be less now that FC3 is here with PvP play. There is only one real soultion I think. A dedicated server app included with DCS that easily takes care of trouble makers. Auto-banning etc. -
Will FC3 models get updated RWR?
104th_Crunch replied to ralfidude's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Here is a picture I made once. It is just a visualization and angles are not 100% accruate in the picture. Make sure what you are decribing is not affected by this -

Are you taking in to account the fact that the RWR does not have 360 degrees of detection? -
This is not about making sure thigs are fair, and balanced. It is about realism. ED should release what is realistic. For FC2, however, there was a mod to use the R77 on the Su-27, as it is not an outrageous concept, even though not 100% accurate. I am sure there is a way to do it in FC3. Just not sure how to do it myself.

Many people, like me, enjoy combat aviation from all eras. I don't think that this is so much about different groups of people going against each other. You're right though, there are people who prefer one over the other. Really it takes skill for any era of combat simulation. On the flip side, BVR is not about pressing a button to shot a missle, and you are done. There is a ton of tactics behind successful BVR, just as much as WVR. Those of us that have bought every ED release since Flanker 1, and then bought LOMAC, were ecstatic when the concept of DCS was announced, however many years ago. We have had to wait through the releases of Ka-50, A-10C, P-51D, FC2 and FC3. All these releases with no DCS Modern Fighter. That is why there is a little impatience, regardless of parallel work. Now I love all those releases, and bought every last one of them, but when you look at what has been released, why should there be another DCS level WWII era plane from ED, when one has been released and yet there is no modern jet? I am sure in time, there will be lots for all, and I look forward to the future.
-
Good point about none of the 3rd parties taking up something from WWII. Don't get me wrong I really love the DCS P-51D. I am sure eventually someone as talented as ED, or ED themselves will make something else. Crazy not to. There is obviously a good audience for it. I am just of the preference that ED should make a modern fighter a priority, because they do such great work, and I am not sure if others can match them. It's a shame with all announced projects that there isn't someone else working on something from the 40's era.
-
Same issue here as well.
-
All I know is that if ED come out with another WWII plane before completing the first DCS:Modern Jet Fighter, I will kick everyone's ass that posted in here. :D :chair:

Salute, Combatace, a talented modder on these forums, is planning to update his Su-33 model for FC3. Will take some time.
-
It is the update for DCS World 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 I assume. As Coff mentioned 680MB, that is I bet for all the modules and DCS core. I guess it depends on what modules you have installed. One of the suggtions I made, and I bet ED are looking in to it (along with the million other things the poor buggers are working on lol) is that the autoupdater displays what you are going to download before downloading. Size, version number, patch log etc.

Thanks!!!

Lots of crashes as well with FC3! Here are my logs. Thanks Logs.rar

Wait... for more DCS releases :)

Landing model still feels unchanged - scripted
104th_Crunch replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
FC3 is what it is. I anot expecting a new sim. I hope the beta is over soon, and there is no more work done on it. I really don't care what features it has, or doesn't. At least it brings fighters in to DCS. Let's move past FC3 quickly and move on to the DCS fighter!
