  1. Never heard of it until you mentioned it http://combatpilotseries.com/ Is this what you are talking about? If so, I would also want an in depth review before buying. For all its shortcomings, and not including details to a DCS level, FC A2A combat has yet to be out done.
  2. Too bad that your work couldn't have been included in FC3. The major hurtle online anyway, is having LEAVU as an addon now that there is File Checking in place. Being part of a default install would have been sweet. Or... Get to work for ED and include the functionality of LEAVU in DCS fighter :)
  3. Wouldn't target step be an easy addition for ED to include? Didn't Yoda have this in LEAVU if I recall? ...runs aways form the Su-27s fan boys :)
  4. The best thing to do is in FC2 or FC3 is try a 25, and compare it to the other jets. There is just a lot more going on with the 25s flight dynamics similar to the A-10C and P-51 releases. There is more programing and scripting to take in account more flight dynamics as they happen. Stalls and landings characteristics for example. Fly a the Su-27 into a stall and it will more or less go in to a simple series of scripts that play out very similar each time you stall. Fly a 25 into a stall and it the flight model will take in to account things as they happen, current speed, current AoA when the stall happened, etc. The physics are more realistic and more detailed in AFM. There is a lot more to it, but that gives you an idea.
  5. He means that the Su-25T and Su-25 in FC use an advanced flight model, where as the other jets use a standard flight model. Death to SFM! :gun_rifle:or at least offer it at as an option for easy mode only.
  6. Awesome answer. Thanks.
  7. What exactly is high pulse repetition frequency (HPRF) medium pulse repetition frequency (MPRF) ? Thanks
  8. I'll just post here Eno. While leaving the export.lua gives player data only, if one was to get creative with it, they could exploit this. So, even if the chance is low it is a good window to close. There is a reason the option for file checking is there. Some servers use full file checking so that even modded new plane models can't be used. Yes, there is a trade off, and perhaps in the near future ED may come up with some new ideas to allow custom exporting and prevent exploits. Sorry for the off-topic. We should not turn this in to an exploit thread.
  9. I have been offline for a while, but I can tell you, that that there is good reason to file check export.lua. It is a sacrifice that has to be done. When you are on a A2G server it is no big deal, but when there are players vs. players, the desire for cheating increases. What is more lame, is the cheating that has been done in the past, and the potential of cheating that can be done with exporting freely available. Again, I am a bit out of touch with our server right now, but if export.lua is file checked, there is good reason for it. I understand that this sucks, but having someone cheating sucks more.
  10. There is no display indiction to let you know in FC. When the R-77 is approx. 20km from it's target, it will go active. You have to manually guage this. For example, if you fire on a target within 20km, it goes active right away. There isn't really any difference, in terms of going active, between R-77 and 120.
  11. I have a MS FF Sidewinder as well as the CH Throttle and Flight stick. With the MS stick you will not have all the buttons that the A-10C stick has, and you will be forced to use the keyboard. You will be doing this anyway if you don't have a throttle with extra buttons as well. It is up to you if this is worth it. The CH gear is a bit cheaper than the Thrustmaster.
  12. I wonder then what the Chem Tanks are for? Spraying crops?!
  13. The reason there is 2, is that you set the value desired, then you set if you wish to enforce the chosen value. It will affect all clients.
  14. I guess I need to revise my first sim. My first sim on the PC was DID's TFX released in 1991, but I did not buy it until 1993, before that 1990 LHX Attack Chopper for Sega Genesis Then 1991 F-22 Interceptor for Sega Genesis
  15. Help this man help us have a nice looking 33 in FC3!
  16. Well, since my online connection sucks large ass at the moment, I am finding the P-51D to be great fun in single player. Can someone please let me know if it possible to have smoke for airshow purposes, and what the steps are to do it? I see only fuel tanks available in the mission editor payload screen, no chem tanks. Thanks
  17. Nice work ED, thanks! Looks amazing. The model will be all ready done when you go to work on DCS:Su-27 :)
  18. Check out this help video as well http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=50&file=398&lang=en and the accompanying documentation has got some great pictures http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=50&file=409&lang=en
  19. Yes, when it comes to ED anyway, I hope the focus now is mainly with the next DCS level fighter jet. Soon I hope we have one Western and one Eastern jet, then anyone can make what ever they want after that :)

    HB Mustang

Mustang is the man! Cheers, happy birthday mate.
  21. This would be a good option.
  22. Btw, Selectable skins used to be possible in FC1. Since the changes that came with FC2, it needed to be removed. At least we have the option to customize payloads again in FC3.
  23. I am sure it would need updating before it would work with FC3.
  24. Just remember, that FC3 is in Beta. It was by choice that we are running our server with Beta software. I am sure things will get better for the full release.
