  1. I havent flown the Mirage in a while but i actually can not say that there is something gamebreaking inside. On the other hand, i don't know every system down to the bone and some systems and procedures i didnt even touch yet. I think, the main reason why people are upset is the Harrier, more than the Mirage. Personally, the Harrier's current state and quality is also not to my satisfaction and subpar compared to other modules. But who am i to complain about an early access module, right? I know the terms and conditions and i play the ball towards RAZBAM and expect them to complete it. Furthermore, it seems that they have learned from their mistakes and didn't release the Mig19 yet, because they decided the module's quality was not to their satisfaction. Apart from that, M2k and MiG21 are both good modules, both offer great fun, also in multiplayer.
  2. Pulling g's lets you drop bombs savely even when inverted. If it makes sense is a different story :D
  3. In the Hornet all AA missiles are fired with the trigger. Gun is always fired with the trigger regardless of the mode. The rest of the ordnance is released with the weapon release button (hence the AG stuff)
  4. It actually really fooled me once! I was short on fuel and i wanted to land at the nearest airfield around. So i checked the moving map for a symbol and found one. Unfortunately, this was an airfield which was not modeled and implemented by ED :D
  5. It should not, however if they are not on the wingtip station, the seeker FOV is very often obstructed by the airframe. Thus you are not able to employ it with the full viewing angle.
  6. I would prefer later. End of march I have to hand in my thesis, i don't need any distraction ;) :D
  7. Tally Video, 9 o clock, two weeks
  8. The formulation almost no one does imply the existence of at least one, doesnt it? cheers :pilotfly:
  9. Ant that's why nobody is forced to do so. On the other hand, even buying a fully released product can be risky as we have all seen with the Hawk. Apart from that, and I am not speaking of anyone specific here, people tend to forget about what they paid for, when they pre-ordered. After some time, they tend to think that with pre-ordering, they also purchased special rights. People react like "I paid already, i have the right to know at every single moment what is going on! If the devs don't answer when I wish so, then i will never buy again, these devs fall in disgrace, [enter arbitrary other dev here] do it much better!!!" or "I paid, i cannot wait, gimme that damn bird!!!11" In fact, they have not (which should be obvious). One should be aware of the fact that, with pre-ordering, the only thing which is relatively safe to say is that this very person can fly the bird on day one when it comes out and certainly will encounter some bugs. Exactly for this and nothing else, people paid. Having said that, it is natural and understandable that we all are hyped like hell and are gazing for content and info. This makes anticipation even better, just like for a small child in the days before chistmas. But i guess we are not seven years old any more, therefore let us all calm down a little bit. Just like christmas does not arrive eralier in december just because the little kid cries even louder in front of the toy store window. I did not name any specific dev or user in the above written, because 1) i dont want to rage against any one, 2) When a module release is imminent, this happens at every dev's subforum anyway. See you on station!:joystick:
  10. I dont think so, since almost no one would understand it and currently there are no subtitles planned (not even for the english Jester)[1] [1] https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=228688
  11. Maybe your physical throttle is at 100% but not the virtual one. If you have the finger lifts mapped, use them. You can also set the afterburner behavior in the options tab. Personally, i have it set such that i always have to use the finger lifts to activate the burners. This gives be a better control. You can also set it up such that with throttle full forward, you have the afterburner activates. The behavior changed a few updates ago
  12. Hi The title says it pretty much. Just in case, i attached some pictures. Thanks for having a look
  13. The question is what do you mean with 'correctly'? know, where all the switches are and how the systems work to get some kills in a combat area? To hit with weapons and bombs? Just to stay airborne? To know real life procedures, for example exact approach procedures, correct Case III altitudes and speeds for the stack and so on? Emergency procedures? According to the checklists. The red pages for the Hornet? Personally, for most aircraft i have, only point 1 and 2 are true. Emergency procedures i almost never learned...In most cases i would not make it home safely. Real life procedures i don't know for any of them, not yet tried case III.
  14. you don't need to shoot down all the MiGs to finish the mission. Just finish off one or two of the first wave and keep the second wave a little bit busy. Try to evade the SAMs near the target site with a ton of speed an even more chaff. Drop the bombs on the first pass and egress...otherwise you are dead. Cycling over the site is impossible due to the SAMs Edit: I also didn't make it the first time. More or less at the tenth. Don't give up. Try it a little bit differently every time
  15. That's strange. I didn't change anything on the mission but i have two sparrows and two sidewinders
  16. You engage both Mig 21 at the same time at a range where they can be dangerous to you. I would use a sparrow for the guy who is not engaged by the wingman (probably you want to go for the second one). Force him to go defensive then he is not shooting at you. Even if the sparrow misses, you have time to place yourself into a better rear aspect position. When you try to avoid the missile, you push down to negative g's. Go for positive g's as i think you can pull more of these. Try to put as many g's onto the missile as possible, try to go to a course relative to the missile where it must steer the most. Also, you are obstructing your own flares with your aircraft as the flares are ejected downwards (if this is even simulated). Like the way you did, it is indeed unlikely that you defeat the missile. And sometimes it is just bad luck, the R60s are not too bad.
  17. It also helps to drop 2 bombs at the beginning as one hit on the target is enough anyway. This enhances your maneuvering capabilities. Of course, for the AIM9s, it depends on the aspect. They are all-aspect missiles in terms of detecting the heat source but this does not mean that they hit regardless of aspect. Try to avoid high g maneuvers during firing, missiles of course also don't like high g maneuvers
  18. The trick is not to find yourself in a fair fight. Dont drop single flares but ~10/s and pull high g maneuvers. The 21 drops its flares very ineffectively, almost every 9M is a hit. Even with 4 Mk84s, you are maneuvering as equally well as the 21, you can even achieve guns kills.
  19. You actually don't need this as you can slew the TDC over the range arrows and increase/decrease it by pressing TDC over this very arrows. Of course it is more convenient to have dedicated buttons for this but still, you don't need to take yohr hands off the HOTAS

    HARM 88

Another advantage is that you don't need visual contact onto the target. You don't have to wait while the missile finds the laser spot but can just drop it. In some rare situations, you could for example toss the bomb over a hill ridge to hit targets right behind it. It could be dangerous to do it with a maverick if the target was a SAM as you need direct line of sight contact for the mav seeker. But i admit, such situations are very rare :D In RL, the decision is about money i would say, as GBUs are usually much cheaper than mavericks. Thus, if you don't have a very fast ground mover, you go with the GBUs.
  21. i wonder if you are able to shoot down yourselves with your own missile like this :D When you're still around when the missile goes down again, it maybe tracks on you?
  22. You are indeed right! Shame on me. However it was a remarkable coincidence since as soon as he unpauses, the lower goes down as well, meaning in this very moment, the internals are full, i guess? This coincidence in time probably caused my confusion. At 2:12 min., you can see, that the lower value stopped increasing which is just seconds after the unpause. thanks for clarification
  23. Hi I must say i didn't encoutered this by myself (simply because i didn't try it), however I think it is not correct so i choose this forum to post. Sry if i'm wrong. In the video of Wags posted today about the AGM-65F, i noticed at the beginning, during the active pause mode, the fuel quantity on the IFEI is actually increasing as time goes. I think it should be the other way around. After unpausing, the fuel goes down as intended. Did someone already noticed this as well? cheers
  24. Thanks BlackLion and Cobra for the insight! However, i think because of this peculiarity, many people will open bug report threads about this :D Cheers
  25. Hi i hijack this thread bc the initial question was answered but still i have a question about the pitch ladder, especially about the refresh rate. In the first video of first answer of this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=225585 at about 3.17 min. you see a hud projection. In this video, the pitch ladder seems to go very smooth, being continuously updated. Is this maybe another branch of the F-14? Does someone know more? thanks
