  1. If you're not going to program the stick with Foxy then just program the buttons in game. All you need to do is -Clear default button assignments (DCS will try to auto assign buttons) -Select the column for the Cougar -Select the command you'd like to assign -Push the button that you'd like that command to be assigned to There is no need to know what button assignments are, all you need is to select the command you'd like to program and press the desired joystick button to be programmed. The first step is important you need to clear the assignments DCS makes for your controller when you first start the game with a new controller. That way what ever you assign won't conflict (In your case this is the Cougar assignment column). It's very straightforward you're just thinking it's tougher than it is.
  2. Absolutely it's being done Nate doesn't have any idea. Oh I have some Arizona ocean front property for sale BTW if you're interested, great views...... EDIT: J/K
  3. Really the full start up is fun every once in a while but gets old for those just wanting to fly. I've probably pulled a full start in KA-50 maybe five times. Although since I have a soft spot for the Hog I'll probably use that feature a little more often.
  4. Awesome Producer Note we're all in for a real treat! Going to be an interesting year of learning complex aircraft systems and raising our soon to be born daughter.
  5. I can't imagine they wouldn't be doing a manual Lock On had one, Flaming Cliffs had one, FC2 had one and so did Black Shark. Not sure ED put out the LOMAC/FC1 manuals.
  6. I think thats likely given A10C may contain new graphic features (grass comes to mind).
  7. I wonder if that guy is running 1024x768 res........ But again looks great from my end, very crystal clear!
  8. ^You mean the producer's note on an unfinished software product? I don't think using an un-optimized version of the sim is fair to make that kind of judgement.
  9. My wife pretty cool about what I spend money on. Just requires discussion and understanding. My wife also gets fake eyelashes and spray tans so justification for a new shiny controller isn't so hard so long as we have the disposable income!
  10. Word of mouth in flight simulation goes a long way in addition to the regular advertising.
  11. Woots it has to do with a lot of factors. For instance when I changed my display to something with a larger resolution than 1024 it made everything easier to spot. As for units in trees thats a mission designer thing. Personally I don't mind having units in a tree line but when a MANPAD takes me out in the middle of the woods thats BS (no pun intended). So long as trees have no collision detection it's 100% unrealistic to place units in the woods. Some solutions to the above points. Fly as a team in honestly made missions and use teamwork. I fly with Woots and he's no noob just suffering from limitations in the simulation and looking for what works for him without totally ruining the experience. That's what's great about the sim, you can scale it to suit you (at least to a certain degree). But I can see his frustration with Peyoteros' response.
  12. Well I think what he hopes is that if we get 64bit support "in theory" our current systems that do a very good job of running KA-50 should manage to run DCS-A10C. Similar in the spirit of a really good LOMAC/FC PC when Black Shark came out. In my case I had a fairly decent rig for LOMAC/FC but when I ran the Shark on the same rig I had to reduce settings but was still very playable. EDIT: Obviously until we get specs and/or more info is released this is just speculative guesswork and wishing!
  13. Airea I think you need to select the HD version of the video and try watching it fullscreen. The quality is excellent for me (as far as You tube vids go).
  14. No thats right this stick is not a budget deal it's all or nothing. Geared for pit builders and serious simmers who have the money to invest. I don't have the money for it but I know it's still a good price for a feature packed HOTAS. And if you venture over to www.mycockpit.org check out what those guys spend on laser engraved panels and 737 replica yokes with only a few buttons, all so they can simulate the 4:15 from LA to Dulles. This is like comparing a Mustang Saleen to a Saleen S7, one costs more but also looks better, drives faster and gets more chicks! Nice things are expensive and the A10 HOTAS is no exception.
  15. Mixing Warthog and scantily clad women might not help anyways.....
  16. LO/FC2 A-10A or DCS-A10C I'll take the DCS study simulator anyday regardless of similarities or differences. Everyone has their favorite/desired A/C but if ED had a mil. contract for a F-14 they'd probably release that next regardless if everyone was looking for a DCS Falcon sim.
  17. In sims the only time I've spun a hog is when my tail section was shot off!
  18. I agree it is a flight simulator first right? Blowing stuff up aside, I love to just fly around landing and taking off.
  19. I hope there is a way to merge FC2 with BS and Warthog but will understand if it can't be done. With all the excitement of joint ops with FC2 and BS online compatibility it will really help to keep everyone in the community together at least in the online arena! We'll have to wait and see.
  20. Very cool love the way things are progressing for you over there Flim! Now I'll admit I can afford very little of what you sell but it's great for the sim community in general, keep it up!
  21. Very cool thanks for the info.
  22. Looking to hear more from you and Flim then. Seems like theres a lot to be filled in on! I'm open ears..................
  23. ^If said girlfriend/wife is talking at all she should be making you breakfast or getting you a beer!:megalol:
