  1. Much obliged
  2. Now that we have the official F-16 forum, Ill pop my cherry with this question: What is the reason behind AIM-120's on the wingtips, and usually AIM-9's on a wing station? Id imagine the opposite was preferred, since all other air frames do so?
  3. Its there in Open Beta. Dont know if it hasnt made it into stable yet? Was pushed into OB in april 12th: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/newsletters/newsletter14042019-5glgkbt1ld0yerifvg4n4rylw64wvxkk.html
  4. With todays news, I certainly feel the hype train coming, its rumble in my tummy.
  5. How is our little gal coming along?
  6. Another great one Rick  Really miss these dark navy jets. Btw. Rick. Regarding your RDAF Mirages. Any plan to release those?
  7. Correct me if Im wrong, but wasnt May where they went to the airbase? So the updates would be following that, and then either a gradual release or a much later full MLO release?
  8. Or is it this? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=239731
  9. Or southern part of Israel / the Syria map.
  10. Hehehehe hello! Just putting on the artist hat though. Its much too dark. This is under a big bubble canopy, 24k feet up. Should be really bright. I know the higher you get, the less light scattered (ambient), but still. Balance is great though.

You are in the Modding - Skinning section. Go to the official F-5E forum instead. https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=507
  12. Well, I dont think the Mirage radar is in shit shape, neglected or game breaking bugged, except the narrow scan width bug - but that is not game breaking, just slightly annoying. But do correct me if Im wrong, regarding a doppler radar, a relative small one at that. Its an incredibly dynamic enviroment, and doppler radars do not like being notched, nor are they very capeable in a rear aspect chase, when their speed is +/- 100 kts of the target. Add to that height aspect, if target is below you. The massive and very powerful AWG-9 in the Tomcat is loosing lock left right and center, even in very close - I guess that is a game breaker too then? That goes for the Hornet too. I just have this feeling that many people expect radars to be these all seeing all powerful devices, that once locked on, will not loose lock again, expect in a very narrow notch window. I think real world is the exact opposite, and that the Razbam Mirage radar is doing a great job imitating all those limitations, but thats just me.
  13. Yes but of course, and ED have statistics on that too. Its 0.78% for 2015, 0.34 for 2016, 0.53 for 2017, 0.88 for 2017 (was a good year that), 0.52 for 2018 and so far just 0.21 for 2019.
  14. Yea I have experienced similar, but that is when I use unlimited ammo in SP (havent tried a rearm). First set of HARMs is all good and fine, but their replacements are like you describe there.
  15. And its not a Viggen specific problem, that most servers are favoring scattered units, best suited for targeting pod and loitering type warfare. F-5, MiG-21, L-39, C-101 are all in this boat too. They need them self some bridges, buildings, railway depots, trains, supply convoys (trucks and ships), EWR sites that arent protected by SA-11, SA-15, SA-10 batteries. They can take on SA-2, 3 and 6 sites too, if you can stay low and do a hit'n run. In other words, not enough proper interdiction on servers, thats where the Viggen and its friends would shine.
  16. There is a good Integrated Air Defense Script too. Ive been using that. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118175
  17. Yea I think thats it. I fired a bunch more just now, and it would consistently go for the closest source, no matter the source. Like snatch a OSA-8 that was parked some 500m in front of (in the direction of the HARM missile) a SA-6 site (that was active and tracking). OSA-8 wasnt even showing up in HARM display (I was launching in TOO) at the time of launch, so it just grabbed it along the way. I could do the same with a EWR and SA-3 site, depending on my approach direction. In this case, if I was approaching from the north, it would pick the EWR, and if I came in from the south or west, it would grab the SA-3 (which I had selected). They were pretty much north/south of each other with a 5nm seperation. I of course have no idea if this is correct or not, if its just a question of the HARM going for a strongest source, that varies along the way. I dont mind though. Adds an element of planning, instead of just selecting a source, and there is a 100% hit accuracy if the source isnt obstructed by trees etc. All my attempts was in TOO
  18. I dont know, cause I dont know their hit percentage in real life. I was shooting at various SA-3, 6 and 11 sites last night. Some sites were isolated, others close to another type or close to a EWR. Id say about 2 in 3 hit their mark, and the last 1/3 went wild, and went for a EWR or some other SAM site further away - could be fairly far away. Felt ok, with some margin of error, instead of a sure hit no matter what.

  20. Just tried a few modules, and shadow settings. Makes no difference. Its simply just the mirror that is rendering differently. Cloud cover base, sun angle, sun direction make the difference. But also the given modules canopy opacity/darkness, like the Mirage, it has a fairly dark canopy, and therefor the bright terrain is less pronounced. These shots are just the last settings, in VR, where I tried without any shadows. Can see witht he Mirage, the difference the canopy darkness makes, where Im 'sitting' so high in the shot that the canopy clips in the mirror. Also with F-18 and Viggen, its different in left and right mirror, due to sun direction.
