  1. Perhaps having a 'manuals' subfolder with all installed modules' manuals in the DCS start menu folder would be great.
  2. No offence, but: I thought I had. You can set up a mission to include music playing as a radio transmission from somewhere. Thus you get music when you switch the radio to a certain frequency. For a video, of course, you could also just use a little bit of clever editing. I think that's how it happened in the ol' Huey trailer as well.
  3. Korrekter Wert für TAS (und damit Machzahl) erfordert natürlich auch korrekt eingestellten Höhenmesser?
  4. My difference in perception might be linked to how well certain groups seem to grasp the differences between simulations, reality and propaganda.
  5. Hm, this thread took a bit of a weird turn all of a sudden. Wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of 'lighten up, Francis' here. If you mess with Ponyville's CAP it's not going to end well.
  6. Re: minimum speed of rocket employment I recently heard that the British Army found that out in the Falklands Conflict flying Gazelles with SNEB rocket pods. As they are only mounted on one side on a Gazelle, employing them from a hover apparently resulted in the helicopter spinning around its axis (and consequently not being overly accurate). Not an issue in forward flight and a slight dive, although that of course brought its own problems.
  7. You are right. I was certain I had read that, though. Perhaps it was just in the 'update-thread' and consequently lost down the pages since.
  8. You do realise, though, that that is a painting, right? Perhaps the Chinese model manufacturer's illustrator just didn't care so much for internal differences between a 2000C and a 2000-5.
  9. One of those stranger kind of battle damages.
  10. If I'm not mistaken this changes the 'center offset' of the HMD sight. If you bring that sight down to mark targets visually, it is by default not put in the center of your vision, but a bit above. The advantage is that you can mark a target looking out the window and at the same time look at the Shkval screen for example, for a quick ID. Pending your display settings, exact way of handling these things etc, a different displacement might be better. For example, if you zoom in a bit, the HMD reticle might be outside of your field of view quickly and you'd want a smaller displacement. If you find yourself having to go back and forth between designating and looking down at the panel, you might want a higher value.
  11. While probably an interesting map, my memory of virtually all forum discussions lightly touching the subject - from world news to the supposedly harmless topic of aircraft inventories - requiring tremendous moderation efforts, it's probably not a very good idea.
  12. Bit of a solution, mayhaps: have custom kneeboard pages (or an actual piece of paper if you aren't insisting on being VR only) that you write yourself a few pointers on. Previous posts are entirely right about start-up being the easy part for many modules, especially the more modern ones, and plenty of other things coming after.
  13. I've previously built a mission that had a song playing on a radio station. Also, I hear the Viggen has a built-in cassette player in DCS?

    Pushback

Well, technically it turns the plane over to the AI irreversibly. In other words, you can't rearm and go up again. Might as well just end the mission.
  15. If you know their set-up position well enough, you can throw a GBU-38 at their radar station and be done.
  16. According to parts of this community: yes, precisely. Wait until the issues have filtered down to 'stable' branch and then report them.
  17. I can't remember, are the net group settings adjusted automatically when setting up two A-10s in the same group through ME?
  18. Good point actually, it is so slow that you definitely don't want to use it anymore when things fly in your direction already. I meant it more like a 'settle into semi-cover' in preparation for an attack kind of thing.

    Historical Mode

Without wanting to take a thing away from it, because it is a nice new feature indeed, there is probably a bit of documentation beyond public wikipedia lying around at ED somewhere anyway and service dates should be comparably easy to look up. It's just a matter of having one or two employees have the time to go through them and compile a list.
  20. Perhaps not wanted, but since the changelog actually points towards it, it is known for sure. Probably necessary.
  21. The customary 'when will there ever be a sale' thread literally in the week after a sale.
  22. With the Shark in an autopilot assisted hover you can flip and hold the switch to 'descend' in order to move straight down slowly. Great for ducking behind cover and the like. The switch going back to neutral as soon as you let go is normal and intended.
  23. [Later in Early Access]?
  24. The warehouses pointed out in the image Paganus shared are part of the mission, not of the scenery. In other words: got to place your own.
  25. It definitely should work, as far as I can tell.
