Of course a sweet F-4 would come out a few days after I start a new job and am away from my gaming rig for over a month.......grrrrrrrr!!!!!!

So.......Corsair?

That's exactly right pardner. A read of Hellhawks will tell you just that, most hated it but understood they were part of the war effort at this point. Some even refused to do it. A lot of pilots were country boys, grew up on farms, so it's easy to see why they would be unhappy with having to blast farm animals. On another note, I thought we were getting the D-25? Is it the -30 now?

I ended up rolling back my version since my squadron wanted to do so, but my trim worked just fine when I did fly in 2.5.1

Well........... I want to point out that the early variants of the Mustang are NOT the same plane. Less power, more problems. There were four .40's instead of six, and they had feeding problems, suffering lams quite a bit under moderate to high G load - the guns were turned on their side to fit the wing and the links would break, rendering the guns worthless. With the fuselage having a taller profile going back into the empenage the B/C was a lot more stable in a dive than the D model. The early D didn't have a fillet and was quite unstable in a dive/high speeds, and that was of course corrected very quickly, but it was never as good as the B/C in a dive. Let's not get started on the gunsight and general cockpit layout..... It isn't a simple matter of just putting a different tail on the D model and calling it a wrap, there are many differences in FM and little quirks specific to early Mustangs that would be absent if it were treated as a later D model.

Stoof..........

Prowler said on one of his posts that RAZBAM had a new Intruder in the works, with none of it being recycled from any of the other games/modules he had previously made of the Intruder.

Backdraft, I have CH fighterstick USB HOTAS and CH Pro Pedals. Here's what I am using for my settings, per Chuck's guide, well, almost..... Cyclic (pitch and roll) - no dead zone, top saturation 100%, the bottom saturation 85&, curve of 21 Pedals - dead zone of 5, curve of 14, saturations both at 100% I tried Chuck's recommended settings for collective and it jammed me up, so I have set just out of the box - 0 deadzone, 100% both sats, no curve. Try it out!

Well, I guess I'll address the elephant in the thread lol......any Corsair news?

Noice!! ~S

3D modeling is tough I'm sure, but I have to believe that coding in system functions and flight models is tougher. Just an observation, I am a computer dumb@$$, so correct me if I am wrong devs?? ~Rob

Backdraft, here's a vid I used to learn a level deceleration, also compliments of the 229th. It's very helpful!! ${1}

If you've tried this then my apologies, but....make sure in the ME you are using the correct air force. I did this once a long time ago, made myself nuts trying to make a skin work only to find that in the description.lua it only supported Canada. You can change it as well so you can see it in multiplayer where US is the default country, it's the very last line in the .lua, just add "USA" to it, it would look like this: countries = {"USA", "CAN"} I use my Huey skins in the main root folder, not Saved Games. It works fine for me. If nothing else put up a link to the skin you are using and I will load it up and see if I can get it to work for you, and then give you step by step instructions so you can get it working. ~S

Short range of F-5E module compared to listed performance
Robert31178 replied to TJTAS's topic in DCS: F-5E
Red, thank you!! I love my little knife fighters. You just gave me the final piece to my puzzle!!!! -
Hilarious. I know the moderators will poop on me for saying this, but keep them comin' lol.....

Speed up development? Did you see how long it took for the Mustang and Sabre to come out? Or how long the Corsair is taking to come out? The modules take time, no matter what they are, and I have read at some point that making the older planes FM's is even tougher than the newer ones for lack of documentation.

Agreed. Here's some stuff that helped me become an alright formation flyer in the UH-1. All credit goes to the 229th for teaching me this stuff over the course of a few months. Head's up, it still took me months of practice after my time with the 229th to be proficient. 1) Fly a set take off and landing routine. a - For take offs I was taught 5ft hover @ 32%-34%, push it over and let it it build speed on it's own. Once you're through TLE set a trim for 500ft/min climb, comes out to around 70kts. (I have read 60, but it never works for me like that) b - I use 1000ft downwind @ 90kts, 500ft base leg @ 60kts, then approach @ 60kts for my landings at an airfield 2) autorotations per where you are reading them from. If you can get good at flying the needles for those consistently then you should be able to keep a stable formation somewhat. By flying those exercises you'll get a feel for using "pressure" vs "control inputs", necessary for smooth heli flying, and making the UH-1 stay on the numbers you want tightens up on your control of the aircraft by making you fly a very tight set of parameters. I flew these numbers around airfields whenever I found myself at an airfield on ops and in training, and practiced autos before our weekly ops during our comms checks. After some time it just clicked. Try it out!

Colonel Hubert "Hub" Zemke led the Wolfpack from September 1942 until August 1944, and under his guidance the 56th FG scored over 500 of it's eventual 655+ aerial kills, 15 of which were his. Zempke went on to shoot down 2.5 enemies in the P-51 Mustang (another multiplane skinpack??) %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/rvvvXpD.jpg[/img]

What about the highest scoring pilot in the European theater, F-86 Sabre ace in the skies of Korea, and Spitfire pilot??? Hopefully someone will do a three pack at some point! Francis S. Gabreski reached 31 kills (28 aerial and 3 ground) before being shot down on July 20th, 1944. He spent the rest of the war as a POW. At the time of his being captured he was the highest scoring pilot of the war, and finished as the top scoring US pilot against the Luftwaffe. %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/wpDyBdQ.jpg[/img] %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/MCVF64W.jpg[/img] %5Bimg%5Dhttps%3A//i.imgur.com/EBwk71O.jpg[/img]

Rep, did you ever get this working for you? I forgot to add that how I have it also works for all three variants of the helicopter.
-
Not sure if the devs here are allowed to discuss on this yet, but are there still plans for an A-7 and a CH-53? If so has there been a decision on which variant of either airframe will be pushed forward? I understand that plates are very full over here at RAZBAM, just was thinking on the -53 since I'm a DCS rotorhead!! ~S

Shag, I want to be clear, I would NEVER complain about a new terrain, I just think that there are terrains that would be better and more versatile than a Falklands map. With us having WWII gear why not expand on that with a Med map - Sicily / Sardinia / Italy lower boot / Tunisia would be a great map. What about a full Korean War map? Vietnam with Thai airfields and OP Steel Tiger areas? Okinawa? I would fly Malvinas, I would, but to me it seems like there are some better places we could be that would have more historical mission opportunities.

Again, I know these are M's, but come on!!!!

Any of these would work too lol....although I know not all of them are just D models......
