If you need skid marks just ask for some of the undies of pilots I've seen around here showcasing their DCS Hornet CASE I landings lol.......

Very excited about this plane!!!! ~Rob
-
Yep, what Sierra said.
-
Me too. I posted that because I was excited, but really it's little more than another paint scheme....which I hope isn't prophetic; this is a replica of one of the last ones flying for the German Army, sure hope it doesn't mean this is the last we'll see of the module...... ~Rob

How did you arrive at "overpowered" for a Pony?
-
I gave a buddy my X55 since I wasn't using it and he was flying the Huey really good from day one. His entire first day with me under instruction he didn't bang the helicopter up enough to even run a repair. Mine had the black spring; I'm a CH guy and it felt really stiff to me, but he loves it. For some context my friend hasn't flown in another simulator, flying Huey with my X55 was his first time. I didn't like the X55, hence all of the logged time in the closet, but he loves it and flies a Huey very well. As for hovering tricks: 1) Use two references, a near one that you glance at (stripe or crack in the ramp or single bush nearby), and a far one that you focus on (a larger tree, building, anything stationary that you can see). If you are into guns then you'll recognize this as the same technique of focusing on the front sight to stay on target steady. 2) Use the damn force trim!! Get your trim set prior to take off. Once set to roughly the spot you know to trim to add some collective and left rudder. Once the nose starts swinging check it with your pedals, then pick the bird up. Stabilize as best as you can then re-trim. You don't need to hit the reset, just hit the trim button again. 3) After you get close to stable get going on step 1, and then practice this: dance on your pedals. Yup, you'll notice that you can correct drift with the pedals instead of making a cyclic input. I learned it from a guy named SnowTiger and I have been using it ever since. That's my 3 steps when I teach new folks and they seem to pick it up rapidly!! Try them out!! ~Rob

"However , I believe that rescue and heavy lift is not well suited to consumer combat-sim market." Well, wrong there buddy. How many people fly the Huey in the transport / CSAR role? It's a 60 year old helicopter doing it in the modern battlefield. A Pave or Chinook would totally be relevant in this sim, even with the buckled sling loading currently in ED. Also scripting makes it fun for us rotorheads. ~Rob

Magnitude 3 Development Update – May 2018

Corsair update????? -
I'm a dummy and have trouble in modern planes, I do better in things lile Huey, Sabre, F-5. I'm saying that because what I'm abkut to say comes from that statements point of.view. I would say it falls in between. Listen, systems wise the F-5 Is way easier to master, but the same things thst make it an easy jet to remember how to do things in make it difficult to fly. There's no comouter/fly by wire, no nav help aside from TACAN, no HUD......if you can effectively employ a Sabre or Mustang then you can effectively employ an F-5, however she is a bear to even take off and land in. Mirage is intimidating as far as systems go, 8 mins to align the nav, lots of fancy modern systems, a modern HUD, but she's the opposite of work to fly from what I understand. If you can effectively employ the Hog then you'll be fine in a Mirage. Now I understand it's your first HF module, clicking is clicking no matter which route you go, it's just a matter of which side of the plane you think you'll struggle with. Well, thst us the Mirage is more capable/survivable on the modern battlefield than the F-5 is because of the systems. I don't have the Mirage because I tend to fly older stuff more effectively, but my squad mate's who have it all speak highly of it. Both planes have their shortcomings as far as development, neither being as polished as some of the more attentive or knowledgeable users here would like, so that one's on you bub! ~Rob

Or Inteuder

Thanks Morse.

Yes, but I don't think It's a pub release. Jar, CO of the virtual VFA-113 Stingers, wears this one most days it seems. I won't speak for him, but as before it never hurts to ask him.
-
I like it!!
-
Lol why not ask Jar politely if he'd share? Save you some time and you never know if you don't ask!!!!!

Huey - Pilot/CoPilot Helmets
Robert31178 replied to unload's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
+2......one for each pilot:-) -
That surprises me too, since the Tomcats handles them with relative ease at Sidra. Or maybe the Navy really does have better fighter pilots than the USAF????

So is this some real stuff or what?
-
Thanks Baltic, I'll grab it when I have internet next. I'm moving so correspondence is from my phone until Monday. ~S
-
Damn. So I am only online w/phone until Monday. Should I just not get on DCS? What happens if my doomsday clock reaches zero?
-
Good morning, I moved and my internet won't be up until next Monday. No biggie, I'll play offline right?? 1) there's a doomsday clock with 4hrs left stating my credentials will run out. When it hits zero then what? No more offline gaming? 2) a friend mentioned that there is a thing to click in the menu for offline play. Is this true? If so where is it? I planned on mission writing until next week, but if my security stuff is going to be an issue I'll stop. Can someone please explain, or link me to, an explanation of what I am seeing please? Thank you in advance!!! ~Rob
-
I looked in the missions section and did not see it. Can you just post the link here instead of teasing us with it?? ~Rob
-
Beautiful!! Can't wait for them to be released!!!
