  1. Yeap.....fly the engine parameters and you'll be fine!
  2. AI hell....all that fancy cockpit work can't be for nothing!!!! I'm tentatively hoping this project hasn't died and gone to heaven, DCS needs a Blackhawk platform in my opinion as a darn near strictly helicopter guy. If it hasn't already surpassed Huey as the most prolific helicopter in Western aviation then it's about to!!
  3. Hell a G would be crazy to model. I mean, at that point why not go in cahoots with BST/ED and make Weasel V? I'd be totally happy with a D version of the Thud. Personally rather have either SLUF or Drumstick though.....
  4. Bio's autobio was really good. As I was reading it it seemed a little light on details, but tjen it clicked that it was exactly how he was as an instructor: "tell them what they need to know, not what you know". I thought it was a neat book, and it was cool that someone who was as involved with the film and lucky enough to be a Top Gun instructor during this time. Great book!!!
  5. Spoken like a troll Miz......no one hates Top Gun except maybe real life Navial Aviators and NFO's who've actually been there and resent a little how It's portrayed. "No doubt a platform for so and so propaganda rubbish to boot.".......uh, ok, care to explain this position?
  6. Thanks boss!!!!
  7. I haven't checked in a while since I've been away, but the the huge update dropped a month and a half ago or so the ADF homing when using CTLD scripts was JACKED. Not sure if you are running thst script, but it might not be fixed yet.
  8. Rephiled, Get yourself and account on a photo hosting site, like Imgir or something. Post your pics there and link them here. They show up lile the r3st of ours that way!!
  9. We are getting the Jug D-30, not the -N
  10. Prowler has already stated that they were working on a 3d model for Intruder, completely new and separate from SF series and FAX, and that the ground radar function from ED was going to be needed before they moved in. It was on page 84 or somewhere near there of one of the RAZBAM threads. This also would make it not a surprise.....
  11. Are you planning on doing any mud missions? I had been practicing my rockets and bombs in Sabre and Mustang before starting this job. ~Rob
  12. I could probably spend some time to and downgrade. Lol I should have just kept my v1.5 alive. I doubt it would be the 14th as stat3d previously, it I'll be resuming normal flight ops sometime after the 16th. I will FOR SURE get an 1.5 going, just need to know what v you are running specifically. Currently I'm up to current simply because I had prepurchased SOH and Hornet and my wife was trying to be helpful and update my crap for me so It's be ready for the 14th when I'm home.....such a good girl!!! Sorry, before In get too far into a major project with my game, we're you talking 1.5, or were you talking abkut rolling back maybe 2 or 3 versions? ~Rob
  13. Lol good one Matt......
  14. Pump brakes and back up please......Typhoons and Allouettes?? Lol....uh, where is that mod???
  15. +1? How about "+ a bazillion"!!
  16. Roger Ball has a bit about it as a dogfighter vs Phantom. It's flown by a veteran Marine pilot who surprises the bejesus out of "Hawk" Smith with it's maneuverability, energy retention, and acceleration. Hawk was a a high time Phantom pilot by this time and said he needed to use every trick he knew to get an advantage on the Harrier.
  17. I'm hoping for another 2 seat Grumman, ol' Shaky, or the SLUF
  18. Nah lol....fill your life with Mirages.....
  19. What was wrong with IL2 1946??? Name another sim that gives you as much variety? I've been flying it since 2003 and Instill love it. Sure, the FM's aren't very accurate, and sure the graphics are dated, but for flying WWII era planes It's damn fun and you get your hands on a whole lot of iron that you'll probably never get to fly anywhere else...... Bearcat with Mustang click cockoit and Mustang FM? DCS Bearcat with Bearcat cockpit and hotrod Bearcat FM? Il2 A-20 so only? DCS.....eventually Playable A-20? IL2 Everything in Capt Orso's post above? Uh, IL2 lol Don't banish liars and dreamers to the most prolific WWII flight "sim"!!!!

    Uk Fa-18

I like the desert "pink", looks way cool on that birdie!!!
  21. We are getting a MiG-19, not a 17
  22. Dammit.....pve is right up my alley lol......maybe you can host again when I'm home!!??
  23. Request pest strikes again....... Just hoping for a scrap of news about this super duper awesome weapon of war. Your Xmas teaser has more or less ruined my tiny brain, all I can think about is flying a full switch Corsair!!! Absence of Corsair news in your last update post was noticed and I was kinda bummed to not see any new pics/news of the Hog (before you A-10 guys pounce, Hog was a nickname for the Corsair). I know y'all have been busy with the MiG-21 updates and CE2, so I would totally understand if there is nothing new to present to us, but if y'all have worked on it can we get a pic pleeeeeeeeease????!?! Thanks in advance! ~Rob
  24. This is true, a hook is needed for arrested landings. Late war and Korea they used a bridle arrangement with hydraulic cats to assist in getting a Corsair with a huge bomb load off the deck safely. A lot of thought went into carrier planes. It was mentioned above that the Mustang is less than ideal because of It's stall speed. The Corsair, which is a handful in the pattern, had a stall speed of just above 80kts. Hellcat, Wildcat, TBM all had very low stall speeds too. You couple tjat with a carrier making 20+ knots into the wind and you have an approach closure speed of 50-60kts. Very manageable. On the Corsair - it doesn't matter which variant comes out, it will always be an accurate timeframe for carrier ops. The Jolly Rogers worked closely with Vought to iron out some of her bad touchdown behavior and were still using it operationally. Also the Brits used it from the time they first received them, they get credit for the work around on approach and pattern to safely use it from a carrier. So with that it could be a -1 birdcage model and still be a "carrier version".
