  1. You were close. Since this is a combat flight simulator its got to be the Archangel. :megalol:
  2. ED is a business first and foremost. And with any Business you have to keep producing a new product that will be popular to sustain it. And before ED can even consider selling a new product they must obtain a license that also grants them the necessary data to develop a high fidelity simulation. So if the the only licenses they can obtain at a time are out of their desired time frame they are going to have to take advantage of it regardless to keep themselves operating. Heck the main reason we even got the A-10C so early on was because the Air National Guard had approached ED to contract them to develop a simulator to train their pilots. And as part of the deal the Gaurd granted them a license and data so that they could also produce a version of it for the civilian market with a few classified features omitted. Which by the way the Yak-52 was also done by a similar deal.
  3. I have lost count how many times I have had to explain to people posting in the wishlist section over and over again about some of the very same things covered in this interview. Most of it being about why Russian airplanes have been difficult to do. Not to mention the countless FC3 aircraft people have requested were made into full fidelity. Oh and lets not for get about the new threads that pop up like every month about the Tornado.
  4. Here are some main points of interest that this interview covered. I will be updating this list little by little. ED does not have plans to bring the Panavia Tornado to DCS but 3rd parties could do so if interested. ED does not have plans to bring the Super Hornet ED does not have plans to make the F-15C a full fidelity module at the moment No century series fighters planed at the moment The Mosquito will have muilticrew MAC will be part of DCS replacing FC3. There are no future plans to add heavies. ED is looking into the possibility of doing a full fidelity Mig-29A There are no plans to do procedure terrain generation like MS2020. They don't have that kind of budget like MS has. ED is planning to add the ability to do walkaround inspections of aircraft pre flight.
  5. In the latest interview that the Girmreapers did with ED it was confirmed that MAC aircraft would be able to fly in DCS. I also recommend hearing the rest of the interview to be up to date. @1:53.02
  6. This reminds me seeing that one of the most realistic RC airplane models that has ever been created has been of a Yak-130.
  7. The F-4 Phantom is just one of those jets like the F-14 that has to be experienced to see what made it so special. The F-14 is my second favorite jet after the Viggen. The Tomcat has been the only jet that I have been able to glide down to my nearest airport without a fuss after the engines died on me once. All my other jets have dropped like a brick after engine failure.
  8. I had also heard that. At the very least there should be at least two versions. The F-4E to have the latest and greatest And a Naval version that was used the most in Vietnam which I think is the F-4B. It was used by both the Navy and Marines.
  9. This is from another thread that someone was kind enough to share their notes. Your more than welcome to redo it in a more legible font.
  10. It has been obvious that a lot of people here can't be bothered to do their research before posting so wouldn't it makes sence to just have an interview where they can just click and listen to. The interview even has a list of the questions so they can just fast forward to the parts that interest them. But here is a quick overview of some of the points covered in the interview.
  11. Please see this recent interview with ED. This topic is talked about when disusing question #14 @44:00
  12. I have actually seen several people rant on RAZBANS FB page when ever they see the latest 3D models status of one of the modules in development about how they should be finishing up bug fixes instead of starting on new modules. Like they expect the 3D designers to also know programing. RAZBAN should at least make a tour video to show their different departments and the processes so people can get some idea of how things are done.
  13. If people were just patient and wait for the next sale they could buy what they desire at a discount while still supporting the development of said Asset. Heck there are plenty of people that already buy aircraft models they have no interest in just because they what to support the developers and the game the love.
  14. You also have to take into account that ED and the other 3rd parties have pretty much been limited to aircraft for which they have been able to obtain a license for. When developing modules that are at the full fidelity level the complete data is needed. That is something that comes along with being granted a license. So the current status of DCS is unfortunately the result of what ED and other have been able to get a license and data for.
  15. There was a question in the latest interview with ED @1:27:55 about a new free aircraft that would be better suited for newcomers. It seems like ED has already been in serious discussions about it.
  16. They only said that they are looking at the possibility of doing a MIG-29A @1:37:18.
  17. Here is a good article of why US Air Force F-16's do no use CFT. https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/why-dont-new-u-s-air-force-f-16s-use-these-futuristic-1712746714
  18. While I would not be interested in a F104 I could understand how this airplane could be of interest to many just so they can experience for them selves why they were so difficult to fly. Perhaps that would help understand better why it was called the Widow maker. I also find it interesting that there is very little interest in the F-100 in this community where by comparison the Hund is one of the top requested models in the RC community.
  19. There was a question that was asked about the status about MAC here at 1:53min.
  20. Please see this recent interview with Eagle Dynamics on the future of DCS. The interview covers a wide range of questions that are always asked about in this section. This is an interview that everyone should hear to be up to date.
  21. I agree with Su-25T being un-suitable and out of date to give a new comer to DCS a good feel for the newer modules that most people are going to be interested in like the Hornet and F-16. The L-39C would be a good replacement option. Check out this video I recently saw of a new comers view of DCS. At 11:00 minutes he talks about the SU-25T and mentions these very same points.
  22. Yes, it will be a mod like the A-4 skyhawk but it has been developed with the help of 3 real-world pilots who have flown the Goshawk as technical advisers with regards to the flight models and technical systems of the aircraft. So it seems like it would almost be as good as a regular module minus a license. Which should not be a big deal since it is mostly going to be used for training purposes anyways.
  23. Thanks Uri for that info. Having the addition of a T-45 that is a Mod built as an EFM from the ground up, that will be free is good news. I just wished it could had been something that was included with a DCS download so newbies that are unaware of the MOD could get right in to it and have a better experience with DCS. The T-45 might not have all the tactical capabilities of say a Hawk but at least it will be the best if not the only option to introduce friends to DCS in multicrew and further train them. However it will have functioning CCIP for a 6 station bomb rack for the pylons to do some weapons deployment training. Here is where this project currently stands. It seems to be well made and almost complete.
  24. I had started a similar thread a while ago suggesting the T-2 Buckeye instead mostly because it would be more feasible and easier to develop and license because it is a simpler and older aircraft. However I would not mind at all if a T-45 Gosehawk could be done and included for free with DCS if possible. Both jets would be great Naval trainers to practice carrier landings with. That way a newbie pilot could be better prepared to move up to a Hornet and already be carrier qualified. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=265902
  25. I also share your sentiment. But I have no interest in simplified systems because that would just kill the authenticity of the experience. What I have done instade is to just stick to aircraft that I feel comfortable with its systems level of sophistication. So far the aircraft that fits me like a glove the most is the Viggen followed by the Tomcat. So I recommend to just stick to older aircraft that are more your pace. The A-7 Corsair II should be perfect for you when it comes out.
