Yup, spot on. Think of it this way: If the CPG is flying the aircraft then it's impractical to have to take one hand off the controls to operate the cursor in the TEDAC. If the PLT is flying, then chances are the CPG is going to be hands-on with the TEDAC, so it makes sense to have to cursor control mirrored there. Also, if you're not actively flying the aircraft then you shouldn't even be touching the flight controls as this can lead to unwanted tactile feedback/resistance for the person who is flying.

Nope, it's not just you....

So, as concisely as you can make it, what is the point? That it should not have released without the hold modes completed? OK, that's a fair opinion. I don't share it with you, but not everyone agrees with everyone else. Other modules have launched with working radars. Should that have been finished prior to EA release too? JDAM's were also a late inclusion for many jets. There's nothing quite like being condescending to make someone agree with you.... Personally, I dive into early access knowing exactly what I'm getting into, and being entirely objective and honest about it I've never been disappointed. Regardless of what the game is or who the devs are, EA is simply an option that people are free to either partake of or wait until the product is finished. I see it as a chance to get a product earlier and cheaper, learn how to play, help to play-test and refine it, and perhaps even help influence its ongoing development. I actually get a lot of enjoyment out of learning how to fly well without a computer holding my hand the whole way as it can be really satisfying. For those who can't do that I can see how it might seem frustrating, but with luck it might all work by the time the next update drops. I think I'd go into politics before I'd go into game development. When it comes to release dates you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Trouble with stream deck 15 buttons
frostycab replied to jabbabzh's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Try running the streamdeck software as Administrator, or vice versa if it already is. -
Are we closer to the definitive warthog profile?
frostycab replied to nick10's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
In truth, whatever anyone comes up with right now could be useless once the FCR is implemented. At the moment it's probably only the SMEs that have any real idea of what controls are going to be of the most value once we get there. -
You may have been able to get away with taking a bit of a shortcut like that before as you didn't have an identifier conflict. However, as was pointed out to me a while ago, not all ident abbreviations are unique to a point type. In this case BP can be a Control Measure for a Battle Point (manual p 349,) but it also appears under Targets/Threats as the ident for a Blowpipe SAM System (manual p356.) As such, if you don't make the distinction between point types then you may get the wrong result when you input the identifier.

The misogyny is strong in this thread

You might want to try this. I thought it was worth taking a risk on it a couple of years ago and I've never looked back. Fairly simple to install (screwdrivers are about the limit of my technical ability!), and actually makes the slew usable, which the standard slew nipple definitely isn't. https://deltasimelectronics.com/products/thumbstick-slew-sensor-adapter

reported GPS not arresting INU velocity errors
frostycab replied to Crptalk's topic in Bugs and Problems
Degradation of the INU accuracy? Maybe try a reset and see what happens after a few minutes. -
I think Wags referred to this in one of his videos. It's the difference between being on nose-to-tail trim (FPV centered) and aerodynamic trim (slip ball centered.) I don't truly understand helicopter physics, but I think all helis do crab to some degree depending on the current flight regime. However I'm sure I've heard reliable people comment that at certain speeds the crabbing in the Apache seems rather excessive. I'd love to get some real insight into things.

cannot reproduce TADS keeps slewing to right
frostycab replied to Scuby's topic in Bugs and Problems
A track or video might help. -
Might be a bit soon. I think he normally lets most of the initial release bugs get squashed before releasing anything.

Are there lots of people from Nepal in Italy then?

It looks a lot like MSI Afterburner.

Do the George AI commands seem backwards to you?
frostycab replied to frostycab's topic in DCS: AH-64D
With all due respect, none of this addresses my original question. I'm generally happy with the interface and the way it works, though I'll accept there's room for improvement. I'd appreciate it if we could stay on-topic. If anyone would care to argue about other issues then please create another thread. -
missing info Weapons loaded and working on missing wing
frostycab replied to frostycab's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's a 28Mb file as the flight was rather long so I've stuck it onto my Google Drive if you want to grab it from there. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZhQ0fG39V_1VjtkzzLkaHhUMWlVs4Z1e/view?usp=sharing I ran the track a few times to wee if it was reliable on any replay, but its seems not. I most definitely did NOT crash through a mountain with evading fire. Anyway, if you do manage to get it to work I lost the wing about 20-25 minutes in while engaging the first set of target at Alpha. I then landed at the nearby FARP, which is where you can see the new weapons in place without the wing. I hope you can make the track for you. -
Not autonomously, at least not right now. You need to command him to search your LOS. Snap!

And also because not all pictures show all possibilities.

not planned Blood in the cockpit and pilot injuries (as an option)
frostycab replied to Mohamengina's topic in Wish List
No thank you. -
Multi-purpose. Can either use them to keep your takeaway curry upright in the bag on the way home, or hang your victims from them in Dead By Daylight style.
-
Don’t know if it’ll work, but maybe try cycling his selected weapon around to hellfires again. Also remember that you can get him to target something and then just WAS and fire from the back seat if all else fails.
-
Yes. I’ve done it. Long range shot, so about 30 seconds flight time. Gave it about 10 seconds between the shots. Had the target list up and ready, so as soon as the first shot hit I just had to scroll and right-short to switch to the next target I’d selected. I think they do need to be relatively close together though, as second missile will be tracking first target and only have a small time to correct.

frostycab replied to RogueRunner's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think this has already been reported, though I may be wrong. -
Enemy "Control Measures" symbols do not appear on TSD map
frostycab replied to kato217's topic in Bugs and Problems
Have you gone into the SHOW pages and enabled the relevant displays? Certain point types aren't switched on by default. TSD - SHOW(T3) - COORD SHOW(T6) - Enable ENEMY UNITS(L5) and PLANNED TGTS/THREATS(L6). Do this for both map phases if desired. (Very good in-depth report though )
