  1. I've been testing 576.28 for a few hours now, and I didn't have any of the problems I had with the previous versions - so far that is. Graphics card fans are no longer attempting to lift my case off the ground, and sky rendering was flawless too.
  2. Ok I can confirm runway 07R doesn't have that problem, and works properly: Jester goes through the take-off checklist as per normal. 07L on the other hand makes Jester proclaim: "Man, the CO is going to bust our balls for this. We are WAY too fast. Are you out of your god darn mind?" Keep in mind I am following proper taxi procedures - as in: exactly following the yellow markings on the taxi-way to the runway.
  3. I don’t have a 50-series card, but I’ve had issues with my 4080Super and the last few drivers, yes. I have noticed two things: - my graphics card fans would ramp up to 100% seemingly at random (they are LOUD!); - I’ve had artefacts while sky is being rendered. But this was only during the first time DCS loaded after clearing fxo/metashaders. Right now I’m running the hot fix driver (thanks to Jayztwocents for making a video about it), and this one runs alright. Mind you, I’m not using 3rd party polling software so I didn’t run into the temperature issue - besides, both Sleep and Hibernation are disabled on my computer.
  4. A lot depends on what you're after. Back in the old days, a dedicated sound card was the way to go if you cared even a bit about audio quality, but on-board solutions have matured a lot since. It's probably safe to say even a mid-range onboard audio chip beats the older dedicated sound cards. That being said, it's good that you found recent drivers that seem to mitigate a lot of the issues you're experiencing. Are you also running the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? If you still prefer to disable the onboard sound chip, a DAC might be a good solution. There are very decent ones out there that are not too expensive (I take it you're not a hard-core audiophile?), and if you only use headphones and don't care about connecting speakers, there are DACs such as the Sharkoon Gaming DAC Pro S which costs only 35 euros.
  5. Historically, drivers of dedicated sound cards have caused tons of issues. Have you checked the sample rate in Windows, to make sure it's not set too high? Windows only supports up to 24bit/192kHz so there's no point in setting anything higher than that if your audio solution supports it (and it might cause CPU issues). I use a DAC/pre-amplifier connected via USB, and don't have any issues.
  6. Yup, I just spent hours editing a mission assuming the auto-save feature (in my case set to every 5 minutes) works properly, but it doesn't if DCS crashes while you're editing. In that case, the mission reverts to the original state of the last manual save. Losing hours of work is indeed incredibly frustrating!
  7. There's something very wrong with your control setup, then. If I spawn in that very same IA mission, I need to trim up to maintain level flight (about 2 clicks will do the trick). I just watched your track replay, and I indeed see -5 degree down trim and you still keep pressing down trim. As soon as I take control in your track, the plane does a violent -3G pushover and dives straight to the ground. As Maxsenna said, and as been stated in pretty much every thread in the last few years where people have weird problems with FFB, you should double check your DCS axes controls to make sure you have 0 deadzones, 0 curves and 100 saturation on both X and Y. Any other setting will mess up FFB.
  8. No, that’s not how it works.
  9. That depends on how serious one is with DCS. Looking for mounting solutions betrays a certain commitment already, and while using cheap joysticks is perfectly fine while you’re still figuring out if flight simulators are something you want to invest your time/resources into, something more durable/higher quality is probably better if you’re planning to stick with DCS in the long run. Something simple such as a wooden stool works just fine as mount while you figure things out.
  10. When I got back into DCS, I had a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, and used Wheel Stand Pro as mounting solution. While that company probably is more focussed on driving simulators, they also make stuff for flight sims and their setup is very flexible. Monstertech is very good yes (I use it myself now) but as others have stated/implied things can get very expensive very quickly, and it doesn’t make any sense to have mounting solutions that are (far) more expensive than what you mount on them. I used Wheel Stand Pro for years, and I was happy with it until I decided to upgrade my entire setup. https://wheelstandpro.com/
  11. Regardless of whether you air-start, hot-start on the ramp/runway, or cold-start?
  12. Yes it was
  13. More AI assets in DCS is always good news! /eagerly awaits the Tu-16
  14. Right? People aren’t complaining enough already about refuelling being hard… That system is for the true hard-core
  15. I didn’t even know that! But then again, I haven’t flown the Mirage 2000 in ages - except to select a Rhino profile in free-flight mode. Perhaps I should check it out!
  16. You should probably read the 3rd entry in the FAQ…
  17. Good point: I just checked and I do indeed have a "F-5E 2024" folder in /Mods. Silly naming conventions, confusing people like that...
  18. Ok I think I figured out what you mean: there is a slight (very slight) constant rumble that is indeed caused by engine vibrations. I actually like that effect, as it makes you feel you're flying an older - very mechanical - aircraft. And yes, you can turn it off completely (at least owners of a Rhino can). If you can't, it's a limitation of the Moza software and something you should bring up to them. This is what it looks like for me (default settings):
  19. That would probably be best, as they are the ones who coded it in the first place. However, I doubt there is any significant problem with the module itself as that would mean a lot more people would have complained about it months ago already. Still, I'll check again in a bit, and hopefully someone at HB replies here too. Btw, I also prefer to keep my settings on the low end, not just to prevent overheating of the base, but also to prevent any possibility of damage to my unit. For reference, I use 15% damping (but it ramps up with spring force), 1.5% inertia and 1.5% friction (which is just enough to be noticeable). I use 80% master gain and 100% on both channels in the DCS F-4E Special Options. I have seen a lot of people comment who use 200-300% gain in the Special Options, but I leave it at default and make changes in the VPForce software instead. P.S. Oh and in the software I use half force on roll and full on pitch, so for example the 15% damping I mentioned earlier is 15% in pitch and 7.5% on roll.
  20. I’ll hop in the F-4 later today then to see if I can figure out exactly what you mean. But my experience so far didn’t leave me with the impression of an adverse effect that I feel needs to be disabled. The only time where I did have annoying vibrations and oscillations was because of too high levels of friction and inertia I had set, which interacted with damping in an ugly way. Tuning down both friction and inertia fixed that for me. I don’t know anything about Moza software, but in the VPForce software there are so many options for tuning, it’s easy to mess something up
  21. I’d check your software/telemetry settings. I have a Rhino, and don’t have excessive shaking. There is a setting for “jet engine rumble” (I forgot the exact name) in TelemFFB but by default it’s pretty weak. Some combinations of settings can also cause oscillations in your stick, so you should be careful with that. I have no idea how extensive Moza’s software is though, so perhaps you’re better off asking this question in Moza’s discord or on their forum if they have one
  22. Hmm, that still doesn’t explain 4.7GB for some and 10GB for others - as I for one don’t own FC2024
  23. Yup, just over 10GB here as well. Seems a tad large for "just" DTC changes *The plot thickens*
  24. It also happens when you hotstart on the runway.
