  1. No need for hope, just read the initial announcement
  2. If I were you, I'd just send Wags a PM. I bet he's more than happy to share his experiences.
  3. Yes of course: ED have stated that several times in the past. They can only do 1 at a time so it will take longer than we would like.
  4. Great news about the F-5 upgrade finally arriving after Simon told us about it years ago!
  5. That might be the beginning of the end then, sadly. My own Reverb G2 died a few months back, and not too long after I started getting those errors myself, the headset completely died. So in that case it might not be a bad idea to start looking for a replacement.
  6. As long as MS offers security updates for 23H2, there won’t be a problem. 24H2 is a feature update, no-one is forcing you to install it. You can use the registry or group policy editor to prevent 24H2 from ever installing.
  7. There's no reason to abandon the HP Reverb G2 if you don't want to. Simply don't install 24H2
  8. Assuming the initial request is about modules, not mods, there are a gazillion threads already about this very topic. That being said, since you asked for a realistic flight model you should probably ignore the AH-64 for now, and look at the OH-58 instead if you want something recent. Otherwise, the more established helicopters (Huey, Mi-8) have had a lot more time in the oven so to speak, so one could assume their FM is pretty much finished. They are still not using the technologies that were introduced with DCS 2.5 however so if you want eye-candy, better look elsewhere.
  9. Well, the F-104 was indeed called "The Widowmaker", and I'm sure people at the time had valid reasons for that. But the other day I saw a documentary that claimed that reputation was made to sound worse than it actually was. Sadly, I don't remember the point that it was making. Fair to say though, that the experience level of the pilot would have had a strong inverse relation to the chances of things getting out of control.
  10. No it wouldn’t A veteran such as yourself should know that by now
  11. Flaming Cliffs is extremely simplified.
  12. Odd, since I never noticed it. In fact, I just did a quick few night flights myself in 3 different aircraft and the colours looked just fine to me It must be settings related, then? Or driver-related perhaps?
  13. Yes and it should have been posted here instead: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1185-aircraft-ai-bugs-non-combined-arms/
  14. Minimum pitch forces 100 - maximum 0? There’s your problem I’d say For the most authentic experience it seems it’s best to use the recommended settings: Pitch: max 100 - min 10. Roll: max 50 - min 5. It's what the in-game tooltip says, if I remember correctly. And for me that works really well!
  15. First it's a sloped roof that causes serious issues, now sloped parking spots?
  16. Yes it was said to be next on the list after the F-16 pilot and new F-18 pilot.
  17. Those concerns were very valid with the initial version of the flight model, but it was fixed with the newer version we got - I think 2 years ago now, a bit more perhaps? Since those changes, those of us with a R3L (or similar) could enjoy the true joy of flying the F-16, but there were indeed still issues for those who use regular spring-centred sticks - and that was fixed a few updates ago. So if you're still having issues it indeed sounds like you should check your control settings.
  18. That explains why the latest iteration looks fine to me. I haven't touched PD since I moved away from my Rift CV1.
  19. Well yes of course it does: you can't really compare FC3 simplified systems to a full fidelity module.
  20. It depends on which headset you use. For me (Varjo Aero) the improvement is night-and-day.
  21. Actually I have a 20cm S-curve extension I bought for my “old” CM2 base, but I’m not using it with the Rhino. I changed my entire setup so I no longer have to swap between fixed and rotary wing setups, as I use the Rhino for both. I found Virpil’s 10cm Z-extension (combined with a throw limiter for the Rhino) to be the best compromise which puts the grip exactly where I want it and at the angle I want it at. It works brilliantly, except for the Apache: it’s perfectly fine during regular flight but while trimming it’s far too nervous - for now.
  22. Perhaps it’s just unexpected behaviour because of DASH and LCT now being implemented? No idea - I flew yesterday and today and didn’t have any issues.
