Most messages remain on the screen and you have to press space bar to close out the message. There is also kneeboard information, which is on your in game kneeboard, or you can find them in the /docs folders of each campaign. I can’t speak for every one but at least TEW and Raven One is like that. I will say that Baltic Dragon campaigns are like story based ways to learn the aircraft. However they are not for a complete new person to an airframe. They may be a little challenge if you’re new.
You can load any mission from the Mission Editor, it just won’t save your progress in the logbook. The other option is to edit the logbook like mentioned above.
I ran into that issue last night as well, while performing full 8-minute alignment. I think it messed up the entire script flow, as I was hearing comms where I shouldn't (I think). Was going to replay it to see where the issue was, but I think the alignment is the issue.
YES! I could not get it to disable, the jet was stuck in a semi AP mode (no : on the display) and it made controlling the aircraft very difficult. Is that similar to what you experienced? Only way I could clear the issue was spam the AP BARO on off to get it to reset.
I would think changing 1 to 4 should start it off at 4. I could be wrong, I’m not exactly sure how dcs reads the logbook. It appears to me it only reads the last entry.
1. Find your logbook (C:\Users\User_Name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\MissionEditor) file.
2. Open it with text editor (I'd strongly suggest to use Notepad ++ (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/downloads/)
3. Make the backup of the Logbook
4. Scroll down to Raven One campaign entry.
5. Under ["fileList"] find the highest bracketed number - this is where you have to make your edit to progress
6. Change mission name under ["mission"] to "R1 M##.miz", or "R1 M##.miz", depending where do you want to progress to. You may want to also change the result of the previous mission to 100 (it will be something low, so it's better to fix your score).
7. Save and close - you should be good to go.
Experienced the same, not sure if it helped or just a random timing but I flew towards wpt 3 and set up an orbit. Prince finally transformed back and climbed out.
It acts like a mouse on your finger. There’s a sensor on the hmd, that tracks the pointers. The pointers have 3 buttons, which act as lmb, rmb, and one as scroll. Just move your hand and the cursor in the pit moves where you place your hand.
Yes, use the Ext Fuel Trans, place it in Norm to use centerline first. Place in wings first to use the wing tanks first. Then jettison the emptied tank. Switch is located on center pedestal near the EHSI.
The vehicle isn't moving, it is stationary in the field.
You can edit your logbook to start 3a.miz, which is right behind the first tanker, and you're topped off with a full load of fuel. Short distance back to the target area. Other option is to just load 3a.miz from the mission editor and then edit the logbook to take you to mission 4.
Make sure you have selected a SIM or REAL from the aircraft controls dropdown list. If it is on GAME you may not have full command options.
For example A-10C GAME vs A-10C SIM, select the SIM option.

I don’t believe that light is there on blocks higher than 30. My only time seeing it was on the 80th block 30s at Kunsan. Kunsans 35th FS block 40s didn’t have it.
OpenBeta is where the Devs will release content in a somewhat WIP state, sometimes it is buggy. Currently, the Syria map is only on the OpenBeta Branch. You will not have more than one install, the longer download is probably just the steam servers being slow to your location.
