  1. Well the user agreement says you own nothing. But if we want the module to improve with DCS that takes money.
  2. You like Normandy, I like the Pacific. They're about to run out of Teen series fighters so maybe they'll go all in on WWII after that? Who knows... I'm excited, sorry your not. Try to have some fun.
  3. Its to give you a much nicer environment to operate the Tomcat or Hornet from. It will have functionality in multiplayer and I think provide the first non combat roles with airboss and LSO. IMHO the most important part of it is allowing for more than four aircraft to spawn from the carrier which will be great for multiplayer.
  4. This is one of my favorite modules too. It has so much personality and looks great.
  5. So if I'm going to gift thus to a friend who has the hornet will it see that they have it and apply the Hornet discount?
  6. Also saw Mig-21s over Syria at 1:03 and at 1 minute a Huey over probably the Marianas judging by the palm tree.
  7. If it comes out before Marianas guess were I'll be flying it :)
  8. Yea, thats a lot cheaper than I thought it would be.
  9. Optimistically they're translating documents for a Japanese module. Realistically they're probably translating the game into Japanese. I hope your right though!
  10. It would definitely be cool to have. I'd be scouting for the fleet or picking up pilots in it. I would think it would take forever to happen since alot of other planes would probably be higher priority, but we have the Viggen so what the hell do I know? :megalol:
  11. Awesome! I hope we get the chance to fly it in DCS. Off topic but I also hope we get an S-55/H-19 someday because my grandfather flew those in Korea.
  12. The Catalina is a great idea. It and the Mariner are both better options than the Mars, I was just being kinda silly with that one but it's cool that there's still a few flying examples of it.
  13. Nineline, Thank you!
  14. you tease ;) I hope we can get something similar for land based airports.
  15. My point wasn't to say that our Huey should go up to 35k but show that the altitude reached by the OP wasn't completely absurd. Helicopters will frequently out fly their performance charts. Should you? No, but helicopter aerodynamics are so complex I think its unreasonable how people take DCS helicopters to the edge and past the envelope and complain about flight models. If it behaves right when you fly it within limitations I'd say were doing pretty good. In this case though its possible that the real aircraft could actually do what the complaint is about.

    A7 Corsair

    100% agree

    A7 Corsair

+1, far more interesting in my opinion as well. Unfortunately they have promises to keep in that regard now.
  18. "The highest altitude reached was 35,150 feet, without a payload."-New York time Dec 27, 1964 in a UH-1D which has the -11 engine in it that is weaker than our -13 https://www.nytimes.com/1964/12/27/archives/army-claims-11-speed-and-altitude-records-for-uh1d-helicopter.html
  19. Do we know if it was firing while pulling G's that jammed them or that simply pulling the G's would cause them to jam the next time they were fired?
  20. Well I'd like to emphasize balance is not what were going for. If Corsairs fought Zeros we need the Zero. I'm all for other assets/modules but the Zero is iconic and we don't need a fair fight.
  21. So he mentions that it was originally a D model upgraded to an H but and he lists some boiler plate H information but we don't know if that H model has the -13 or -703 engine which I think is 400 more horsepower. Yes I saw the list that says -13 but I'm not convinced they didn't just google H model and list the base engine they had versus asking which one. The DCS H has the -13. Also a military helicopter is alot heavier than a civilian one. When they go to civilian service they get stripped of alot of unnecessary equipment like IFF, the second generator, armored seats, etc. So you would need to compare the actual weights of the helicopters. And I've never bothered but people have compared the DCS huey to performance charts and its come up fairly close until you get to high altitudes. Thats not to say it couldn't use some improvement. I'd like to see VRS reduced and more pedal authority added.
  22. Bearcat wouldn't really fit WWII. If I remember it showed up to late. Im not sure it saw any action at all.
  23. So anyone happen to know what Nick Grey's favorite Pacific fighter is?

    A7 Corsair

I actually did some digging on that because I was wondering why did these two coexist in the navy? Are they not redundant? What I came up with was the A-7 was intended for close air support and "see the target, kill the target". While the A-6 wasn't quite as good at that type of work it was much better at pinpoint all weather day or night strikes. So if its a target of opportunity you send and A-7 and if its preplanned you send the A-6. The F-18 was able to take over the A-7's role earlier than the A-6's and thats why the 6 stayed in service longer.
