DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
Jester986 replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
No videos, no announcement of a prepurchase. Were 13 days from the Wednesday before Christmas. I'd say a 2020 release is looking unlikely. -
Considering the video is 4 years old and he also has a 3 year old Yak-9 video I'm guessing these projects are dead and unrelated to OctopusG.

For the love of all things aviation, PLEASE no more gen4 blufor. F-16, F-18, F-15E, Typhoon, and probably whatever the secret module is. Enough.

Vibora, do tou think we could get a weekly screenshot of the F-1? Nothing necessarily about the development but just a snapshot from testing?
-
So I came across IndiaFoxTEcho's website and I see that they have a C-2 for another sim. Please bring this to DCS! I know its not as exciting as an F-104 (which to be fair I also want) but I think it would be great to expand a new role into DCS.

Just watched it and thank you for doing the interview! Definitely excited about this mod. Your answer as to ever doing a full module seemed to imply "probably not but never say never". Free modules are an awesome gift to the community but if you ever decided to go paid you'd have my support and especially for the next potential plane. Best of luck and looking forward to trying it out!

Jet ranger start is a little different from the long ranger. Instead of slowly modulating the start to maintain tot you just snap it to idle and then hold the idle release down incase you need to cut it. Bell decided to go to a modulated start for the long ranger thinking that a human keeping it on the higher end of the temperature range would be easier on the engine because it results in a faster start. What they ended up with was a lot more hot starts than the jetranger had because people are stupid.
-
So from my understanding the helicopter was made to be started at the idle stop. They have you start it just on the other side of idle because the idle stop release is electricly actuated, so if you lost electricity you wouldn't be able to shut off fuel and you'd burn up the engine. And I'm pretty sure I've done lazy starts in dcs with the throttle sitting on the idle release so that shouldn't be the problem.
-
So when I start a real huey I open the throttle all the way, take it down to the idle stop, push the stop release and close the throttle, open it back to full, back to idle stop, push the stop release and turn it just enough towards closed to get it off the cam so I cam close it if I lose power. Fuel on, start fuel on, hold the starter, start fuel off at 25% n1 or 400 egt (thats for a 205 with the -17A) off the starter at 40-45% n1 depending on who you work for. The dcs huey doesn't have start fuel and its a different engine so limitations are a little different. But what you described above should start it fine. Are you waiting to increase throttle until the everything has stabilized at idle?

multicrew status - released to open beta 17th December 2020

That's great news. Co pilots and door gunners! I just hope we can decouple the door gun from our view for VR. -
Hopefully some day. This is my number one absurd probably never going to happen wishlist plane. Maybe if Razbams English Electric Lightning does well though interceptors will stand a chance.
-
I vote for the Franken mirage with more weapons because I want the Exocet. But I don't blame the people who argue against and it definitely won't stop me from buying it if it doesn't happen.
-
I have mixed feelings on that one. I love the era but the F-84 would be lower on my priority list. That said would definitely still buy it.
-
Is there a list of weapons for each variant? My googling has only been able to find overall F-1 load outs, not variant specific.
-
That's very generous! I'm buying atleast two copies.
-
Much more excited for this one than any amraam/jdam truck!
-
Will any of these versions be exocet capable?
-
IF its modelled accurately...
-
Awesome! I hope the module's cockpit gets a little polish to match all that efforta:pilotfly:

Some people have been able to Hack multiplayer into the A-10 campaigns as long as everyone owns them. You have ai aircraft on the ramp, f2 over to them and ise alt-j to take them over. Not sure if anything else was done in the background. Also, could implement it by having the missions individually in the missions section so we could run them one at a time with wingmem set to client. Bu I have no idea how to copy protect that if thats an issue with that approach.

I'd really like to see the Torpedo bomber variant. -
Both corsair and crusader are already in development by third parties.

Our best bet would probably be the Ju-88 to have a reciprocal aircraft, but I doubt we'll ever see an aircraft with more than 2 crew. I thought multicrew had been promised on the Mosquito but I recently saw that walked back in Discord by I think bignewy. Don't ban if I got that wrong...
