Edit: The IFLOLS is indeed there on the Kuznetsov, but it's unsuable in VR. It would be great to have the overlay like Nimitz class. Thanks.

The needed data for ILS runways on Caucasus, Persian Gulf and Syria. M-2000C ILS data for PCN input (digitalcombatsimulator.com)

No, a Viper should detect a fighter around 40Nm at least. But since everything isn’t perfect in DCS: - big fighters RCS are too small (5.5m2 for Su-27 seems way too low). - I suspect APG-73 went from over-powered to a little bit on the low side, especially against large fighters because of their too small RCS. But it’s OK compared to AMRAAM range and Link 16 can help.

First, a Hornet Vs F-14/15/16 is a heresy. It's supposed to work with these planes, not against it. Hornet and F-16 radar are still WIP, some functions may be finicky to use. Hornet radar range have just been reduced, and it seems that F-16 is still largely exaggerated. Hornet avionics is easy to use but hard to master. There are a lot of options to use in proper context. That being said, L16 + JHMCS provides a great situational awareness. AIM-120 are great too. You have the same on F-16. For all practical matters, Hornet & F-16 are about the same, do the same missions with the same weapons or kind of. But Hornet operates from aircraft carrier. F-16 is better at high speed and sustained turn rate (or should be). Hornet is draggy yet it is better at low speed/ high AoA, but it's a dual edge sword if you miss your shot... On both planes, if you use JHMCS + AIM-9X, you can pretty much avoid having to turn too much. F-14 advantages relies on AIM-54 long range missiles. In DCS, without a human RIO, it can be tricky to do things quickly with Jester AI RIO. SA is harder do build compared to the Hornet. F-15C in DCS is overly simplified and it's unfair to compair. Also great at high speed and good at SPAMRAAM. In DCS: lacks L16 data link, JHMCS and AIM-9X. ECM is the weak point of DCS. Not all modules have the same level of fidelity. In the Hornet currently, if you use jammer you won't be able to use your radar at the same time. It is probably realistic, but a disadvantage compared to some other modules which don't have this level of simulation...

No, the Mirage 2000C doesn't have this feature, it's a feature of Mirage 2000N & 2000D.

In Case I had good results giving the “kiss off” command just before the break.

[Static Templates] for Blue Coalition Carrier Group
jojo replied to Rudel_chw's topic in Mission Editor
Hi, Thank you very much for your templates. You are saving us a great amount of time. Cheers -
Well, I tried to look for it, the only thing I found was a document for year 2000 stating it was planned for 2003. Things from 20 years don't come up on top of request. And even with date filters on Google, not much !

TWS Auto bug is acknowledged.

Hornet had a long career, JHMCS, AIM-9X and some good stuff came after 2003. In mission editor we can choose between do not mount, JHMCS, NVG. It would be cool if this choice would effectively reflect on 3D pilot. Currently, JHMCS appears on 3D pilot no matter what the choice. Thanks

Ok, I found year 2000 document planning the IOC on Hornet by 2003. Thanks Apparently no AIM-9X and JHMCS either before that year.

I think it's for reaming & refueling on the ground. Before there was a bug and the external tank would not be refueled.

Hi guys, Here is the Kneeboard format to display in the cockpit. M-2000C ILS data for PCN input (digitalcombatsimulator.com)

The question is in the title. I'm wondering to be able to make some missions with different capacities depending on the time. Does Mission Editor restrict the use of Link 16 depending on the date ? Thanks
-
That would be a totally different cockpit and weapon system, and probably nobody using it IRL wants it to be simulated. People constantly request their dream jet fighter and totally forget that you need a lot of data to make it happen in DCS. It isn't best guess fantasy like Ace Combat. And you know, people were already eager to fight and kill each others before Fox 3 era

It’s more complicated than that. The Mirage 2000-9 (U.A.E.) and Mirage 2000-5Mk2 (Greece) appeared much later than Mirage 2000-5 for France (bought because of Rafale delay and to support export efforts), Taïwan and Qatar. The avionics hardware inside is different since -9 and -5Mk2 borrowed EMTI/ MDPU from Rafale. Older -5 has more traditional avionics hardware, and more limited for easy upgrades. So -5 isn’t downgraded -9 but -9 is more advanced evolution of -5.

It's like saying "why don't you use R-73 on MiG-21Bis ?" Magic 2 version started to be delivered from 1986. It's still in service on the remaining Mirage 2000C in service and Mirage 2000D (there is an ongoing MLU program on Mirage 2000D and they will get Mica IR). DCS World is simulating a wide time frame of materials. Yes, Mirage 2000C isn't the latest/ brightest kid on the block. But it scenarios from mid-80' to late-90' where most fighters were Fox 1 shooters, it's more than capable.

The Indians yes, Mirage 2000 I probably the Litening family pod.

From Discord right now...

From what I saw on Discord, it's WIP on M-2000C too and in testing. But it must be coordinated with ED who wants to control all the weapons. It may take a few weeks/ months, but contrary to before, it's now in development, but no ETA.
-
Yes, this is Mirage 2000D And this is U.A.E. Mirage 2000-9
-
Yes true, probability of detection. But the problem still is "what is a fighter size target ?". Because it's usually a 5m2 and this isn't representative of a loaded F-15 F-14 or Su-27 As it is right now, there are huge inconsistencies between modules...
-
This. In DCS the F-16 RCS is set 4m² and Su-27 only at 5.5m² (F-15C at 5m²). Big fighters have too low RCS... F-16C and JF-17 seem to be over-performing. And everybody who are quoting open source radar range: these are the best figures of the radar. The range depends on radar setting. You will have a better range in 1 line 20° scan than 4 lines 120° scan or even 80° scan. And this is typically the 1 line & narrow scan range that you get in open source publications...
