I have to say I am in a mutual disagreement with RAZBAM_ELMO about CCIP attack profile. I tried the 30° dive on target with high drag bombs, but IMHO: - you are over exposed to ground fire - I almost crashed on target, full aft stick after release to end up 200ft AGL...if you are too late you're dead. The computer should take care of flight profile.
-
In options you can disable INS drift and alignment. I'm not sure if it's enforced in the campaign missions. If you want to report problems this is here in the "bug reports" thread But it's already covered
-
I'm not totally satisfied with CCIP either, but this is how I deal with it. 500kt, between 100ft and 300ft AGL maximum. Stabilize flight during release so impact spacing be consistent. - The BTR-80 are 60m apart - PPA setrings: NB = 4/ DIST = 6 AFAIK: this is consistent with how FAF and French Navy fighters used high drag bombs in Lebanon, Chad and Irak... I didn't have time to check for CCRP, but it's said to have been fixed in Open Beta.

Yes, AG is a secondary capability.
-
Probably a bug, because the INS drift rate has been reported as super fast too

Ok, thanks to both of you

Maybe, but in DCS World, not everything is in Razbam's hand Do you have real life experience of in flight refueling ?

There what we know today, and the point of view back then. Sure, in 1991 Iraqi Army was worn out and a shadow of what it was in early 1980'... But that wasn't that obvious in 1991. The late Mirage F1 EQ5 were very few, but very effective striker with laser guided bombs and missiles, AM39 capacity, BAZ-AR SEAD missiles, offensive jamming... So for AG it was better equipped than USAF F-16 of the time, and for AA Super 530F was still better than only Fox 2. I think that considering the size and equipment of the coalition they had to face, training level wouldn't have made much of a difference. At the beginning of the war, the Air Defense was still very high, USAF did try a medium to high altitude raid with SEAD escort, and it was mostly ineffective with the weapons available at the time. https://youtu.be/H8InuaTRKnY So back then, the RAF did attack air bases the way they knew, and the way the Tornado was designed to do it. Back to the subject: using Mirage 2000C to put bombs on SAMs...Israeli tried that against Egyptian SAM, they suffered pretty high casualties in that mission. If it does work, this is just because there isn't enough ground troops around the SAM. The French Jaguar A raid on Al Jaber gives a taste of what it is to overfly ground troops at very low level: 4 out of 12 damaged, including one who made it back but was deemed destroyed. 1 pilot was almost knocked out by taking a 7.62x39mm round in the helmet. Low level is dangerous. In current DCS World we pay performance taxes for each unit. So there isn't enough on the ground.

Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhh Just make it the same as CCRP + PI and it will be perfect

I think you are mistaken. Mirage F1 and Mirage 2000C have roughly the same empty weight, but Mirage 2000 is more powerful. Atar Family | Safran Aircraft Engines (safran-aircraft-engines.com) M53 | Safran Aircraft Engines (safran-aircraft-engines.com) For AA and according to French Air Force pilots it's night and day: more powerful, better radar (look down/ shoot down), better missiles (Super 530D Vs Super 530F at best), integrated ECM compared to pods... But yes, depending on the variant, some late Mirage F1 offer better options for AG.

[NO BUG] Can still fire gun, cannot launch/release any other ordnance
jojo replied to Aries144's topic in Resolved Bugs
The "gun trigger" just fire the gun, the "BRM" fire everything else. But this used to be Mirage 2000C RDM set up, on Mirage 2000C RDI with SPIRALE, the BRM is used to release selected decoy program and the gun trigger fire the selected weapon, no matter what. So "Weapons FIRE/ Bomb Release" is the correct command to use for Mirage 2000C RDI and is best suited on your HOTAS trigger. -
[NO BUG] Can still fire gun, cannot launch/release any other ordnance
jojo replied to Aries144's topic in Resolved Bugs
Just re-assign "Weapons FIRE/ Bomb Release" in the control section. Don't use "gun trigger" or BRM. I don't understand why they introduced that ? -
Is it specific to M-2000C or is it the same with other modules ?

I missed the bold part the first time. When LOC + GLIDE are captured: - pitch trim disengage GLIDE - roll trim disengage LOC This is normal behavior... But the system must capture LOC before GLIDE. So if you un-couple AP LOC + GLIDE with trim input and you want to re-engage LOC + GLIDE, you must unselect L|G on AP panel then re-arm L|G. @RAZBAM_ELMO That behavior is described on the French Mirage 2000C RDM floating on the web for more than 15 years...

Sorry, but I think you’re wrong. Iraqi Army was considered well trained after 10 years of war Vs Iran. Low level attack of airfield was the doctrine back then, Tornado had special purpose JP-233 weapons to destroy runways, and it needed to be used at low altitude. That low altitude profile was selected because SAM threat was considered high at medium altitude. But it’s true that the losses suffered by the RAF Tornado and to lesser extent the damages on French Air Force Jaguar A during attack on Al Jaber put an end to this kind of tactics...

cannot reproduce and missing track file Harpoon smash the water
jojo replied to Joni's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Not on my side (Open Beta) The best tactic I found so far. The worst thing for me is the lack of ship's damage model. You're just damaging the ship's life bar. -
In special option, "realistic TDC movement" (or whatever it is called in English, my installation is in French) is unchecked. But when I'm in EXP mode, I can't move the zone the TDC unless I press and hold TDC Designate. I thought that the purpose un-checking "realistic TCD movement" was to avoid that. My X-55 throttle doesn't have a cursor I can press and move...

Here is a great video made by Anthony Cls. If you like DCS M-2000C, have a watch

AFAIK, IFF transponder operation isn't simulated by DCS yet.

[AS INTENDED] Jettisoning Super 530Ds makes pylons disappear
jojo replied to dorianR666's topic in Resolved Bugs
Super 530D are rail launched. When you jettison, the missiles are dropped on their pylon, this is intended behaviour. There are different behaviours on the jettison depending on weapons and rack. -
Well, no. Only the Rafale is equipped with Meteor missile in French Air Force (Eurofighter and Gripen too for other partners). The Mirage 2000-5F uses the Mica as Fox 3 missile. This is a matter of timeframe. As Fox 1 fighter, Mirage 2000C was competitive from mid-1980' to mid-1990'. AIM-120B started to be introduced in 1994, and it took some times. Mirage 2000-5F has been delivered between 1997 and 1999. And even then, Mirage 2000C was still relevant against former Warsaw Pact countries and their allies which were still using Fox 1. In DCS, everyone is flying F-15C, F/A-18C, F-16C with Fox 3, or even JF-17 which is much newer. On top of that they add Link 16, JHMCS and AIM-9X or equivalent for JF-17. But for instance, during Desert Storm in 1991, F-15C and F/A-18C were using AIM-7M, most F-16 had no radar guided missiles, no JHMCS, mostly no L16. And even during Allied Force over Kosovo in 1999, F-15C were flying with a mixed load of Fox 1, Fox 2 & Fox 3. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:F-15C.jpg In DCS itwould be 2 x Fox 2 + 6 x Fox 3. And finally, there is a lack of full fidelity modules on the Red side. So in MP servers the M-2000C is often assigned to Red side and have to face Fox 3 US fighters. Since DCS modules rather tend toward realism, you won't get weapons that don't fit to the real life counterpart.

Yes, with Shehab (Damocles) targeting pod on the pictures.
