    Mirage F1 hype

I think you are mistaken. Mirage F1 and Mirage 2000C have roughly the same empty weight, but Mirage 2000 is more powerful. Atar Family | Safran Aircraft Engines (safran-aircraft-engines.com) M53 | Safran Aircraft Engines (safran-aircraft-engines.com) For AA and according to French Air Force pilots it's night and day: more powerful, better radar (look down/ shoot down), better missiles (Super 530D Vs Super 530F at best), integrated ECM compared to pods... But yes, depending on the variant, some late Mirage F1 offer better options for AG.
  2. Wouldn't it be cool ?
  3. Is it specific to M-2000C or is it the same with other modules ?
  4. AIM-120C are so chaff hungry right now that it's worthless ! Even when the target stays hot, the missile will break lock and go for chaff behind it
  5. Sorry, but I think you’re wrong. Iraqi Army was considered well trained after 10 years of war Vs Iran. Low level attack of airfield was the doctrine back then, Tornado had special purpose JP-233 weapons to destroy runways, and it needed to be used at low altitude. That low altitude profile was selected because SAM threat was considered high at medium altitude. But it’s true that the losses suffered by the RAF Tornado and to lesser extent the damages on French Air Force Jaguar A during attack on Al Jaber put an end to this kind of tactics...
  6. Not on my side (Open Beta) The best tactic I found so far. The worst thing for me is the lack of ship's damage model. You're just damaging the ship's life bar.
  7. In special option, "realistic TDC movement" (or whatever it is called in English, my installation is in French) is unchecked. But when I'm in EXP mode, I can't move the zone the TDC unless I press and hold TDC Designate. I thought that the purpose un-checking "realistic TCD movement" was to avoid that. My X-55 throttle doesn't have a cursor I can press and move...
  8. Here is a great video made by Anthony Cls. If you like DCS M-2000C, have a watch
  9. That's different. US were able to crack Soviet IFF system. So they would send the correct signal trigger Soviet IFF answer, this would give positive hostile ID, whereas no answer doesn't certify hostile. I would bet it was plugged to the radar, not the RWR.

    MBDA Meteor on M-2000c

Well, no. Only the Rafale is equipped with Meteor missile in French Air Force (Eurofighter and Gripen too for other partners). The Mirage 2000-5F uses the Mica as Fox 3 missile. This is a matter of timeframe. As Fox 1 fighter, Mirage 2000C was competitive from mid-1980' to mid-1990'. AIM-120B started to be introduced in 1994, and it took some times. Mirage 2000-5F has been delivered between 1997 and 1999. And even then, Mirage 2000C was still relevant against former Warsaw Pact countries and their allies which were still using Fox 1. In DCS, everyone is flying F-15C, F/A-18C, F-16C with Fox 3, or even JF-17 which is much newer. On top of that they add Link 16, JHMCS and AIM-9X or equivalent for JF-17. But for instance, during Desert Storm in 1991, F-15C and F/A-18C were using AIM-7M, most F-16 had no radar guided missiles, no JHMCS, mostly no L16. And even during Allied Force over Kosovo in 1999, F-15C were flying with a mixed load of Fox 1, Fox 2 & Fox 3. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:F-15C.jpg In DCS itwould be 2 x Fox 2 + 6 x Fox 3. And finally, there is a lack of full fidelity modules on the Red side. So in MP servers the M-2000C is often assigned to Red side and have to face Fox 3 US fighters. Since DCS modules rather tend toward realism, you won't get weapons that don't fit to the real life counterpart.
  11. Yes, with Shehab (Damocles) targeting pod on the pictures.
  12. No, there is no "cycle" command. You have to break lock then lock the new one.
  13. Polar coordinates means that you are moving TDC in angle and range in PPI mode. If you set the TDC at 20Nm, and move it left to right or the opposite, the TDC will make an arc of circle. It was previously like that in PPI and X/ Y in B scope. But IRL, it doesn't move like that, it moves in X/ Y mode (top/ bottom & left/ right). So they make it happen in PPI display mode too. But it seems that the TDC is struggling to lock target in PPI mode when you get far from center line. So the TDC gate aperture is there to customize a circle around the TDC to lock the target, to compensate situation where you would put TDC on target and it wouldn't lock. It seems that there is a problem translating X/ Y coordinates on PPI display.

    AV-8B Status

Yes, you're right. Lately I'm enjoying CasmoTV content. I'm watching his videos and he drew me back to the Harrier I didn't flew for a while. The guy is US Army AH-64 & OH-58 pilot, so even if he isn't Harrier pilot he has an interesting approach to AG missions, and the videos are good. Maybe Razbam could partner with him for AV-8B features videos ? DCS AV8B Harrier- dropping JDAMs on preplanned targets like a boss - YouTube AV8B DCS Harrier; using TOO to hit multiple targets - YouTube AV8B DCS Harrier- Arrogant Apache pilot tells you the Top 5 things you need to know - YouTube
  15. I don't know what was the language of the interview, but translating from Russian "missile" often becomes "rocket". Plus I don't see the interest in putting so much emphasis on AG rockets. ED already communicated they were developing new ways to compute missiles performances (CFD).
  16. Apparently, ED plans is to re-do all weapons developed by 3rd party studios. I have a really bad feeling for Super 530D.
  17. Yes, indeed, it's there
  18. Yep, that's my feeling too in M-2000C. Just shift your head back while looking straight ahead, and hit VR reset command (or Numpad 5). Then it's ok, when I look down I feel like wearing the flight suit
  19. I’m not a Tomcat expert, but unloading at high altitude to go through transonic speed is quite common practice. Watch this fun story, the pilot describes the same acceleration procedure.
  20. In DCS World graphical setting try to set MFD Resolution to 1024. Then DebugTool Super Sampling to 1.5 and MSAA x2 should allow you to read VTB just fine if you look at it. Your hardware should allow that. Just looking at it by lowering the eyes won't make it because you would be out of lenses sweet spot. But yeah, sure, if it doesn't cut it for you, use VTB export.
  21. Well, VTB means Head Down Display. This feature in game is to export the radar display on another screen. There is no HMD on Mirage 2000C. So you can do it, but it's detracting from the experience of flying a 1980'-1990' Fox 1 fighter.
  22. It's planned for next update on December 16th.
  23. The thing is CCPL + PI is correct for roll guidance. CCPL alone uses the same symbol but works in the opposite direction. It doesn't really make sense to use the same symbol differently, it's confusing.
  24. For the record, a ground crew explained this to me. He added that the feeders bars going up and down is a way to check that fuel transfer works correctly. For instance if you have 2500kg of remaining fuel, and the feeders only go down, you have a fuel transfer problem.
  25. Actually, the engine burns fuel from the feeders. Once the feeders drops to a certain amount, it's completed from the other tanks. But this behavior isn't simulated in DCS. IRL, with external tanks, level drops to 550kg then it's completed to 590kg and back and forth. Once external tanks are empty, the level drops to 480kg, then completed to 520kg and back and forth. Once below 2x480kg, it will continuously decrease. At 2x250kg = 500kg, you will have the "NIVEAU" amber warning.
