  1. Guys, if you fly in VR, for screenshots & videos you can choose in DCS VR option to render the right eye, so you will be able to capture the IHADSS rendering
  2. My two cents: - radar missile: great to obliterate vehicles/ convoys in open terrain - laser missile: you can paint anything you want to destroy with a laser. From MBT to foot machine gunner
  3. I don't really understand the war between Force Feedback mode/ centre spring mode. I think it was more or less the same for every single helicopter since Ka-50. Use what you prefer. I'm in centre spring mode. At first it was a little bit frustrating, because I didn't handled it as well as Mi-24. But now just under 06 hours of flight time (which is nothing, but maybe can give and idea, your millage may vary) I start to feel more comfortable flying around, tactical flight, coming to a hover and landing. Yep, a lot of foot work so far, it will be probably easier when flight assistance sub-modes will be available. Just practice guys, take your time and build your muscle memory. You will master it
  4. I has been said to be planned for future development.
  5. Personally, after a few hours, I don’t see the need for a trim reset. But I don’t mind if you get it. What we need the most IMHO is the full set of flight assistance modes: - Hover hold - Heading hold - Ground speed hold - Proper functions of ATT Hold. These will make it much more stable and a better weapon platform.
  6. Great, in the meantime I think a cool and quick improvement could be to have George switch targets down the list after hitting one rather than having to relaunch a search.
  7. Yep, that’s it. A little bit frustrating right now, but it’s early access. I hope they will improve flight assistance quickly. When flying with George, you have to micro-manage him and to take care of the TSD by yourself, it does increase the work load…
  8. I do, first thing I did after installation. But it’s like I’m holding it still, trim tap, quick controls recentre, and it’s wobbling around new position. By successive smaller trim action I can get it stable, but it’s more work than it should. I also used the Hind before so I’m aware of these trimming problems.
  9. It takes a little bit of practice, but finally, with frequent FTR tap and quick controls recentrer, it’s acceptable, not perfect but acceptable. But we are currently missing most of flight assistance modes, such as HEADING HOLD (huge help), AUTO HOVEr below 05kt, GROUND SPEED HOLD (Vs + Vy) between 05kt and 40kt, auto wings level with ATT HOLD above 40kt if roll < 03°. When all these modes will be available, most of these problems will be solved. My only problem so far is when I trim in one direction and return control ps to neutral I get a small nod in the opposite direction.

    Trim Type?

I understood this in the manual as "description not written yet" Apparently the pitch/ roll hold works, but that's all it does

    Trim Type?

If I understood correctly, AH-64 has "Heading Hold" function. It's activated with ATT HOLD with controls neutral/ trimmed position. It's disabled with control input at more than break through value. Heading Hold is also active with ATT HOLD OFF at speed < 40kt. @Raptor9Am I right to think we don't have it yet in DCS ?
  12. Yeah, it's great. But if you want to make screenshots/ videos in VR, turn off "balaclava" option in special setting
  13. OK thanks. Currently any stick input beyond a threshold just disengage ATT HOLD with Bip sound. It doesn’t re-engage when controls neutral. Heading hold doesn’t seem to work great either. So yes, currently I feel like “fighting” the flight control
  14. A thing which happened several times: Decelerating in level flight before landing, stable flight around 60kt, FTR up to set new trim, release the control to neutral and the helicopter pitches up, I have to make large stick input forward to keep it level and make new trim…
  15. @Raptor9 Hi, I’m trying to understand how the flight control system works IRL and how it compares in DCS World right now. We don’t have ALT HOLD mode, but I have the impression that ATT HOLD isn’t doing everything it should right now either. When ATT HOLD is active and you want to change the reference (let’s say doing a turn), do you have to hold FTR and release in the new position or can you just fly though it and it will re-engage once you return controls to neutral/ trimmed position ? If you can speak about it, how and when do you use the ATT/ ALT HOLD modes IRL ? Thanks.
  16. I guessed it for the active pause, yet your hover was pretty good during the shot.

    What's RFI?

Usually, interferometer is used to perform a passive ranging. Like for a RWR you would get azimuth & range estimation. But I am not totally sure for Apache…
  18. Yes, that’s what CasmoTV said, he also advised to set manual range to 800m. That will stay through the flight and it’s a better setting to aim with the helmet.
  19. At ground speed > 40kt Heading Hold is supposed to be engaged even with ATT Hold OFF. It should disengage and go into “turn coordination” mode if you use ruder and should revert to Heading Hold 1s after rudder neutral and yaw rate < 3°.
  20. ATT Hold function depends on speed thresholds V < 05kt: hover (X + Y postion & heading hold) 05kt < V < 40kt: Velocity Hold (Vx + Vy & heading hold) 40kt < V: hold attitude (pitch < 30°/ Roll < 60°), if roll < 3° : wings level If I understand correclty, using FTR should allow to set new reference for ATT Hold.
  21. ALT Hold mode is not simulated yet, but from what I read, ATT Hold doesn't seem to work as expected either. But I'm not sure. For instance, below 05kt it should maintain hover position & heading. It doesn't seem to do so currently... But please tell me if you manage to make it work ?
  22. And what about this video please ? Look after 08:00, the ball is centered, yet the velocity vector is near the head tracker. At these speed in DCS my velocity vector is heavily on the right side ! Is the something new on AH-64E or is the video feed misleading ?

    VR Pilot (wip)

I would rather wish the former Gueneau 458 helmet
  24. Yes, I saw that off course. But external 3D model doesn't mean they will be able to develop the full flyable Mirage F1 CR or CT. Still, nice IA is welcomed too Nice Mirage F1 CR walk around, including the cockpit. Dassault Mirage F-1CR Walk Around Page 1 (primeportal.net)
