Carrier IFLOLS overbright…..and overlay query
draconus replied to markturner1960's topic in Bugs and Problems
What's your mission then? What exactly you want to achieve apart from annoying all the others who do have a problem? -
Should also depend on AI difficulty.
-
They all have four working wires. CQ module is kind of overboard to ask for. It should be part of SC module. Just an option for different crew behavior.
-
They could make it to trigger AI ROE - as a threat/attack.

F-14 A/B feature follow-up, wish list and beyond

We're still waiting for 3rd HB campaign for F-14A in PG but seeing last year updates for the Tomcat it might be a looong time. -

F-14 ACLS not working again after patch 2.9.13.6818 (21/2/2025)
draconus replied to ValhallaAB's topic in Bugs and Problems
The Case III approach comms and procedures are detailed in the Supercarrier manual. Basically you should contact carrier ATC, call inbound and you'll get the TACAN radial (from mother) and DME where you should hold at specific alt and the time (minutes on the clock) to commence. ACLS is intended for landing only, not approach, so it works from like 4-6nm. We know it was not reliable IRL and so it's not in DCS. You should always be ready to correct or take over manual control whenever needed. -
I upgraded to Quest 3 and fortunately there are no longer these annoying ASW artifacts (only the usual ones, like an aircraft flyby).
-
Use trim up/down until the nose stays put, no pitch rate, HUD G meter reads 1.0. You can check the process to turn on AP ALT on page 248 of Manual.

F-14 ACLS not working again after patch 2.9.13.6818 (21/2/2025)

Are you on the glide slope? Are you close enough? From manual: I tested Instant Action Caucasus Case III mission for F-14A last night - no problems with ACLS. Did you notice the sig? It says "Virpil WarBRD base". -
The DCS trainers are not for beginners These are not 1st level trainer aircraft - what you need is low powered prop like Cessna 150.
-
Auto decides between 1 or 2 pixel dots depending on the display device and rendering resolution.
-
You're wrong on all three points. There may be not much but enough for players to enjoy. There was never such intention. You are offered a good simulation of an aircraft for entertainment only. DCS is not made to hold your hand. You can use it to learn a lot of airmanship aspects but not all of them. You technically could flight a real deal but you will still have to learn IRL and get license.

Frankly I see no point in playing old FC3 camapigns in new FF Eagle. Even if the scenarios and dialogs are good enough you'll miss nav and radio play.
-
All settings are in 2nd menu no 6 CMs.
-
What mission was that?
-
Iirc they released the pilot model as first temporary version with intention to further upgrade it later in development.
-
Well, they fly a lot better without bombs... pity

Can only send files not bigger than 13kb in the forum?

You have to go here to delete some attachments: https://forum.dcs.world/attachments/ That way you'll release more quota. -
Yes, it should have some problems. Probably similar to what is modeled in F-15E or better. We don't know if ED will decide to increase its burn through range or model it differently in the new F-15C.
-
No.
-
It's a different system than label dots. It's been tweaked in 2023-2024 by ED. Basically it's a black single pixel or 2x2 square (depends on the display device, rendering resolution and spotting dots option set) over the air and ground units at distance when they would no longer be rendered normally as a visible model and they fade out with more distance.

I already said what affects what and you called it cosmetics or nothing - that's your choice of definition (or ignorance). Let's add more "nothings": temperature does affect engine operation, it affects lift, fuel flow rate, some modules have ice/fog on windshield simulated, some have pitot icing simulated, it also affects the creation of contrails of jets and missiles. The clouds move with the wind so the "weather set" stays the same in the air but it changes through time for any given place and fog/dust storm does change with time for the whole map.

Is that what you want?
