  1. I'm not sure I understand what you are asking. However, you are supposed to make a clearing turn after launching. Bow cat launches turn 20 degrees starboard then return to BRC. Waist cats turn 20 degrees port then return to BRC. These turns prevent collisions when there are simultaneous or near simutaneous launches from the bow and waist cats. You cannot launch both bow or waist cats at the same time without a collision. You can coordinate a simultaneous launch simply by timing the "salute" action with your wingman. If this helps, great! If not, perhaps ask your question with more details or in a slightly different manner.
  2. In the YouTube video, "***Updated 2.7.0*** F/A-18C Operation Pontus Campaign Guideline," you show pre-defined weapon packages for SEAD, CAS, Strike, etc. that don't appear in the mission, currently. That's a little bit confusing when your just getting going. There're are number of steps to walk through which are out of the ordinary for DCS campaigns. BTW, its amazing how much you've been able to with the scripting engine. I imagine the development process has been painful.
  3. Update: Following the 2.7 patch, I tried again. There is an order dependency to the triggers. If you hold short to wait for your squadron mates (I never waited for all of them they didn't seem to move), If you don't wait to take off, the mission works normally. I think the issue described in the first post was caused by Tricker never taking off. In this mission, I expected squadron mates to be a hot start, and they are cold start and slow to get moving. I'm sure there is a good reason for starting the mission this way. Recommend, trying to find a way to get squadron to taxi sooner, or add some notes about patiently waiting for everyone or moving out as fast as possible.
  4. Bump. Track replay file is ~111MB. How about another screen cap? This one is in Syria. Black hot or white hot both have same issue. Both cases are shown. MFDs are set to night mode. Cockpit lighting mode is night mode. HUD is in night mode just in case it matters. UPDATE: manually adjusting gain & level seems to clear up the issue to about what is expected. Same mission.
  5. Potential Spoiler: Great prologue campaign. Made me re-learn how to use some systems and the story is engaging.
  6. Thanks. I missed that.
  7. I used the ones from the spreadsheet. The download is both an executable and a spreadsheet. If you are worried about running software from an essentially unknown source, the excel spreadsheet seems to work fine and should be able to be ran in Google sheets.
  8. It depends on which version you are running. 2.7 will be on open beta first and likely a while before the stable channel gets 2.7.
  9. The instructions for finding your detent position have to be read and followed carefully for this to work (not a complaint, a friendly heads up). For my warthog throttle, the afterburner detent position is 25. I have the 3D printed push over detent from shapeways. Previously I had a curve of about 5 set for my F-14, 3 for my F/A-18. So far, this seems to work a little better.
  10. If this has been posted, I wasn't able to find it. Mission 2, super carrier version, Uzi 1-2 has his radio set to the default instead of 225.000 MHz which makes it hard to get him to engage bandits. I edited the mission to fix the issue, but it would be nice if this were in the official file. I have not checked the other version.
  11. 1. I'm very much enjoying the campaign. The missions are engaging, and the use of AI and scripted comms is good. 2. Having all units you need to interact with 1 radio channel, while "easy," isn't realistic, and potentially creates a situation where you don't know which carrier or tanker responded to you when using Vaicom Pro. I don't think I've had any problems yet, but I'm only a few missions in. 3. Carriers (CVNs and LHAs), are too close to each other. For CASE I, you really want a minimum of 6 nautical miles separation between carriers in order to keep stack patterns safely separated. I don't know what the official rule is. This is just the rule I use. There doesn't seem to be a good reason to pack them in so closely together.
  12. I haven't used Stennis since SC module was released, but prior to then the course might as well had been a random number.
  13. Yes. It's not as convienent, but still easy once you learn how. Steam Transfer FAQ: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/500/ This is the best help/information i have. Beyond this, ED customer service/tech support is your best bet. Stick settings can be imported from saved games folder. Just don't delete your Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input Folder or copy it to safe spot. That's where your joystick settings are stored. (DCS.openbeta depending on what you use). VR will still use SteamVR just for a non-steam game. I don't know of any reason performance would be different. I don't have a direct comparison point though to tell you for certain that Valve doesn't do something vindictive with performance when you run SteamVR with a non-steam game. You'll have a bit of a learning curve, but you'll benefit from the ED sales & bundles and ED won't have to Shell out 30% (I think this is the current Steam tax) to Valve for not doing a whole lot.
  14. I'm only going to disagree that the Stennis should be tried first. The SC is worth the money entirely and should be better (in 2 weeks ) especially if you still get a bundle discount. I have no idea what the current terms are because I bought both modules (F/A-18 and Super Carrier) on pre-order. Both birds are great. Neither is simpler than the other. The buttonology is different. The flight model is different, primarily at the edge of the flight envelope and top end. Coming from the Harrier, you will have an easier time with the Hornet, but not much. Both modules will have similar weapons capabilities when done. The Hornet is more complete because it was released earlier. Both have sufficient range for DCS, often without external fuel tanks. The current bug list is different. The main question you need to ask yourself, and answer honestly, is if you want to focus on carrier ops or want to switch to land. Personally I find both modules to be very enjoyable, and really really like the CBU-97s on the Viper, but want to do carrier ops more. One other factor is your flight stick. If you have a replica stick for Hornet/Harrier (they are similar) and nothing for the Viper (Warthog and Viper sticks are all but identical), you'll find it easier to map the stick controls to the matching module. If this isn't important to you, disregard. P.S. Do yourself a favor and move off steam for DCS (I think that it is still possible). It's convenient, but the benefits don't outweigh the cons in this case. I started out using steam and have never regretted converting over.
  15. In the 4-ship missions, Sniper 1 often sounds like "four" in the audio to me. It's minor, but worth reporting.
  16. I love the campaign, but this information is obviously missing. It would be awesome if you recommended a video or something to read before each mission. @kotor633The best way is to just get in and fly. There are some videos for the DCS F-14, especially the early ones, which should help you with tips that improve your enjoyment. One of the things that make the F-14 module great is that you know when you've done well. It's a hard bird to fly well, especially if isn't your primary bird.
  17. The Litening Pod was done first because of the F-16. It is valid for both modules.
  18. I don't recall Mover's review. If you go check Wags's youtube channel you see demos of all the features, especially the most recent ones and you can comb through the change logs as well. If you want to see current complaints, check the bugs sub-forum. It's a great module. If you are unsure if you want it or not and don't have the money to risk on something you aren't happy with, maybe there will be another free fly soon.
  19. TCS field of view buttons for narrow/wide. Also it would be logical to give JESTER commands for this. If they already exist, I have overlooked them.
  20. F-14 is more complete than F-16, but both are still highly playable. Tomcat is harder to fly well, but easier to learn the cockpit. Get the one that looks like the most fun to you.
  21. HYD ISOL switch - not sure how disconnecting landing gear from hydraulics helps or hurts in the system model, but it must be there for a reason.
  22. WOPR

    DCS 2.7

Gird your loins. It's likely to be equivalent to a fresh install.
  23. The damage doesn't appear to be that sophisticated.
  24. This question is probably best asked in the campaign forums. DCS ATC doesn't watch your habits at airfields that closely.
