OTHER is selected by the further right rotary switch on the CDU - would have to check next time I fly to see if there is a FUNC + button to access that via UFC but thought there was. For the canopy handles, they rotate and allow you to manually open the canopy (handle on each side). Not modeled in DCS. Cheers, Ziptie

If it’s on the same panel as the NVIS controls, I’d say it’s for use with NVGs - but won’t be able to fly virtually until Saturday to verify location. Cheers, Ziptie

[ALREADY REPORTED]A-10CII VHF AM / VHF FM presets bug
Ziptie replied to ataribaby's topic in Bugs and Problems
Already address and reported: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-a-10c-ii-tank-killer/bugs/290456-already-reported-radio-pre-set-dials-pre-sets-2-5-not-visible Cheers, Ziptie -
You can turn on the nose illumination switch and turn the position light rotary switch up - which will illuminate the weapon stations. Cheers, Ziptie

I don't remember the Hornet's AAR probe making sound when it extended and retracted. The Tomcat's definitely does, but pretty sure the Hornet never did. Cheers, Ziptie

Do I correctly see (VR) pilot body improvements here?
Ziptie replied to sirrah's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I used to do this when the feature was implemented. It's also immersive when you can see the hose for the mask moving as you pan your head. Really hope they add this feature back in. About to go dig through to find my original 'wish list' request and give it a buuuump. Cheers, Ziptie -
No worries, happy to assist. You might find some useful pages inside that document - for using for your kneeboards as well. Cheers, Ziptie

buuuuuuuuump Also, just highlighting that this request has been in the wishlist section from nearly the beginning - and could do with merging all the 'flashlight' threads together. Cheers, Ziptie

+1 I've always wanted to be able to adjust the mirrors. Seems like we could left click to fold the mirrors down, right click to fold the mirrors up, and use the scroll wheel (CW/CCW) to 'pivot' the mirrors for adjustment. Side note: I've always wanted to be able to do this with the interior flood lights in the cockpit as well. Cheers, Ziptie

[ALREADY REPORTED] HARM Ready condition Part 2
Ziptie replied to Jak525's topic in Bugs and Problems
Seems pretty straightforward and I would think this would be proper "logic" for the display(s). Couldn't have explained / broken this down nearly as clear as you have and always wondered about this myself. Well done, would be nice to get some clarification on this. Cheers, Ziptie- 1 reply

Stand by for laser on in approximately "10 seconds" Indicating that infared marking is a possibility from the JTAC, which is a more covert method of marking the target as it can only be seen with certain optical enhancement (i.e NVGs) or requesting/declaring method of target marking via infared pointer "sparkle" JTAC can oscillate the pointer in a figure 8 around the target to help identify friendly position (origination point being friendly) and/or to locate the desired target, aided sighting by motion of the pointer "snake" Not sure I should post the document I have, as it might violate the rules of the forum - however if you google search: JFIRE 20161 - you will find a document that has what you are looking for, and much more. Cheers, Ziptie

Copy that. I believe the LAR was addressed as being too long of range for the original A10C, but would require a search of the specific post(s) from a moderator/developer. I know there have been issues reported for the Hornet and JDAMs. Could be something shared with the CBUs for the A10C. Time will tell I suppose. I don't have any issue employing them currently, as I won't be dropping them with a serious surface to air threat in the AO - if there are manpads or tunguska I'll be above 10,000 and 15,000 AGL respectively. Cheers, Ziptie

Range staple is there for me for the CBU-105. Left side of the HUD, you can see it in the picture included in the members post #5. If you're speaking about the range to target (LAR), it does seem shorter than what the original A10C had, but I believe they said something about the original's LAR being too great. Cheers, Ziptie

Do I correctly see (VR) pilot body improvements here?
Ziptie replied to sirrah's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
They've certainly improved the head movement (visible via mirrors). Head movement tracks 1:1 with your head movement in real life. Can't wait until they add the shadow of head movement back, they had this probably about a year ago, but unfortunately removed it for some reason and hasn't been back since. Quite immersive seeing the shadow move with you head movement 1:1 as well. Cheers, Ziptie -
Do I correctly see (VR) pilot body improvements here?
Ziptie replied to sirrah's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Every single time, unfortunately the Hornet is the only module that I own which as the pilot body. A10C I/II doesn't, F16C doesn't, F14B doesn't. Immersion when in VR with pilot body is great, without it I feel like Lt. Col. Dan from Forrest Gump - "I don't have any legs!" Cheers, Ziptie -
Paddle shift no longer disengages nose wheel steering??
Ziptie replied to CommandT's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Interesting, information noted. Next time I fly the Hornet (will probably be a long time now that the A10C is out), however I will adjust my procedure for the information you've provided. Cheers, Ziptie -
Very odd. So with HUD SOI, DMS forward and aft will cycle through your steer points. There is a difference if you have the CDU toggled to FLT PLAN or MISSION, via the 3 way rotary switch, as to whether or not you can cycle through all steer points, including airfields (MISSION will allow cycling through all, including airfields). If you cycle the CDU 3 way rotary switch to MARK, you will not be able to cycle through anything other than your created mark points. I'd venture to guess that you might have enabled IFCC SPI. You can *see* what your SPI is by referencing the bottom left of the HUD. If you have something other than STPT as your SPI, TMS aft long will get you back to STPT as SPI. Regardless, you should be able to use the UFC STEER rocker switch to cycle between steer points / mark points (again depending on what position you have the 3 way rotary switch set to on the CDU). Cheers, Ziptie

Negative, the one that @Tholozor referenced above. Cheers, Ziptie

Paddle shift no longer disengages nose wheel steering??
Ziptie replied to CommandT's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
So if you are taking off from an airfield in a Hornet, you don't disengage the NWS around 80 knots? What do you do if you have a strong crosswind - just continue to put rudder in the direction you need it to compensate for the crosswind and risk losing control of the aircraft with NWS engaged.........? That seems like an incredibly dangerous thing to do, an unnecessary risk and flat out incorrect. Also, "gouge" is an interesting term to use regarding my previous statement. I'm not trying to "swindle" anyone with my statement (if that is what you were trying to imply) - it's what I do, it's what all others that I fly with do, and it's what Wags even does in his video for the Hornet demonstrating a take off from an airfield. Cheers, Ziptie -
This issue has been addressed, mentioned in the most recent patch update notes and should now be fixed with the most recent update. Cheers, Ziptie

We are not allowed to share NATOPS manuals here on the forum - but you can google search for it and reference the items you desire to reference. Cheers, Ziptie

Original point of this thread has been long addressed/lost. Now it is just a civilized argument for the most part, but I’d bet it won’t stay this way for long. @BIGNEWY , you should close this and let the “discussion” have it’s own thread, appropriately titled. Cheers, Ziptie

readability of TAD symbology over map

The bolded section is why I replied as I did. Seems I am unable to interpret your statement. Apologies. Cheers, Ziptie
