Anable to remove wheel chcoks now after last update
Ziptie replied to pete_auau's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Copy that, strange and a bummer indeed - but at least it isn't a "global" bug for you. Did my best to think through different potential causes, but I'm obviously missing something. Wish I could assist, sounds annoying for sure! Cheers, Ziptie -
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Life saver you are sir/ma'am. Cheers, Ziptie

[REPORTED ALREADY]Keybind to power on the HMCS?
Ziptie replied to ry-ballz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
If you haven't discovered "The Warthog Project" on YouTube yet - check it out. The stuff dreams are made of right there, and I am currently working towards replicating his home cockpit. He is incredibly generous in the details he gives, links to CAD files to use for replication and steps to create the things he's made. Truly incredible. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJq3cq9N6xYF0fAvTgpwoBg Cheers, Ziptie -
Ability to drop JDAM's using LAT\LONG or MGRS
Ziptie replied to GreatWhiteHype's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
As the two others above have stated, the standoff employment of JDAMs in the A10C really won't happen as the aircraft can't achieve the same speed at altitude compared to the Hornet. They still are fun to employ on other targets, including SAM and SA threats that you are safe from by staying above 16,000-18,000 feet. While the A10C isn't really intended to execute a SEAD role - once you get comfortable in the aircraft it is incredibly fun to take on SAMs, and effective. It can certainly be stressful at first, but it is very rewarding when you can do it. It's incredibly fun being on the deck, dropping below tree top level while having SAMs firing at you. If you are unable to visually acquire the threat, and get the maverick off the rail quickly, the key is to get a mark point set on the SAM via TGP - you want to extend / setup so you can get on your final attack heading and rifle efficiently. Make sure to have the jammer set to the correct mode (SAM1 / SAM2) and be ready to cycle the profile. Nothing better than it, in my opinion! Cheers, Ziptie -
Ability to drop JDAM's using LAT\LONG or MGRS
Ziptie replied to GreatWhiteHype's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
There are numerous ways to drop a JDAM on a target in the A10C (new one): You can enter coordinates and drop on a STPT SPI You can drop on a TGP SPI You can drop on a TDC SPI You can drop on a mark point SPI You can drop on a HMCS SPI EDIT: You can drop on a TAD SPI I typically use the mark point method, as I make enough mark points in a typical sortie to get all the way through the alphabet - but that is obviously a personal preference and there are many ways to achieve a good weapon employment. Not often that a JTAC is present for me - but when there is one, I will create an entry in the CDU to satisfy the specific target request. Cheers, Ziptie -
[REPORTED ALREADY]Keybind to power on the HMCS?
Ziptie replied to ry-ballz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
When building a home cockpit and you want the physical switch there to actuate - only reason I want it. After the initial toggle, I also use DMSLL - as that is indeed the correct way to disable/enable while in flight. Simple as that. Cheers, Ziptie -
Same here. Well played sir, well played.... Cheers, Ziptie

Glad you got it sorted. Using the TGP, in conjunction with the IR MAV can make things "easier" as you can identify the target from further out, designate the target via TGP, then the maverick seeker head will slave to that target and all you have to do is wait for the lock and then rifle. [WIP] ECM Programs Reverts to last open configuration
Ziptie replied to Nova1395's topic in Bugs and Problems
I find it best to edit the .lua for the ALE-47 so that program 1, program 5, and the emergency dispense (program 6?) are setup every time prior to entering the aircraft. Simply copy the edited .lua file to another location for ease of replacement after any update/patch to the OpenBeta software. In a way, it's kind of like loading a data cartridge. Kind of. Maybe that will assist you with you issue of having the parameters change on you after the process you've outlined above. Cheers, Ziptie -
[REPORTED ALREADY]Keybind to power on the HMCS?
Ziptie replied to ry-ballz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
As always, much appreciated and have also now added that key bind to a toggle switch for some additional immersion. Hope the OP has benefited from you guys chiming in. For those of us who are not just limited to the buttons on the HOTAS, these kinds of things are great when building our "home cockpit" and placing all the switches in the real life locations. Much appreciated! Thanks again! Cheers, Ziptie -
Anable to remove wheel chcoks now after last update
Ziptie replied to pete_auau's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Is your aircraft a hot start or a cold start? As another member said above, ensure you launch bar isn't down as this can cause an issue. Might be worth a shot to extend and then retract the launch bar to see if cycling it somehow will allow them to be removed. I've been able to remove the wheel chocks with cold and hot start aircraft on the super carrier, on the Lincoln and the Truman. Are there statics that are possibly causing an issue? Not sure if that is even possible, but clipping has been changed a couple times recently with ground crew on the deck - so figured it might be worth a shot to check.. Cheers, Ziptie -
+1 Always been surprised that wheel chocks haven't been available for the A10 in the game. Not like they aren't used in real life.... Cheers, Ziptie

Sounds like a desync issue from what you've described. Without seeing a video of the incident, it's tough to be sure though. Cheers, Ziptie

[NO BUG] TOO modes overwriting targets between stations for GBU-38
Ziptie replied to uri's topic in Bugs and Problems
No, you do not need to slave the TGP to get the drop cues. The drop cues will be displayed via the coordinate entries for the individual GPS guided weapons. Also, it can be beneficial to have the HSI displayed, to show the parameters of the LAR for each weapon. Cheers, Ziptie -
[NO BUG] TOO modes overwriting targets between stations for GBU-38
Ziptie replied to uri's topic in Bugs and Problems
Pretty sure it was an issue with the procedure being done to transfer coordinates - works fine for others and myself. It can be a bit of a confusing process at times with task saturation. Cheers, Ziptie -
Not stalking, have read a few threads that you have "chimed in" and it's not typically in a helpful fashion - more the opposite. Didn't tell you what you can or can't say - was just clarifying that you are more of the "typical internet person" who says things in a manner that would probably not get you a fair treatment "face to face." People all have opinions, just like other things - you know how the saying goes I think. Further proves the point. Also, not sure what you "promised" - seems out of context. I do like the new forum feature though, adios. Nice of you to comment on a potential issue with the B/S functionality of a pylon though, well done. Cheers, Ziptie

I'm thinking he is looking for something for the B/S of the Mavericks, similar to how the Hornet has the ability to have 'realistic TDC slew' or 'unrealistic TDC slew.' Not like the OP is looking for unlimited ammo, invulnerable airframe, or other things that you often find on a console game. It's the wish list section, don't come in on a high horse and put people down for having a valid wish list suggestion. After all, this is the wish list section. Just reading through several of your recent posts, it is fairly obvious that you like to comment on threads/posts that you could quite easily just stay silent to, or actually try to see it from another's perspective. Be better. Break the trend. To the OP, seems like a suggestion that more than a few people might want - just not sure how easy or difficult an option like that would be for ED to create a code / option for. Fair question/suggestion either way. Cheers, Ziptie

[REPORTED ALREADY]Keybind to power on the HMCS?
Ziptie replied to ry-ballz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
As of yesterday, when I last flew - there was not a key bind for it currently. That being said, wondering if @LeCuvier would be able to find the correct code to insert into the keybind / .lua file for the interim.....? He seems to be a magician with this kind of stuff, and has sorted these types of things out previously. Maybe @Chump would also be a good one to attempt and give us an interim fix...? I do not know what the deviceID of the HMCS panel / switch is, or I'd give it a go with what I've learned from the information they've shared previously for other systems being added to .lua's. Cheers, Ziptie -
Correct sir. Also, I do believe that Wags stated in his video (waaaaaaaay back when the Hornet+Maverick F variant were shiny new together), that the SHIP feature allowed for the gate to achieve a lock on a less defined contrast while changing the missile impact point to the waterline of the ship rather than impacting higher on the vessel's superstructure. It's been awhile since I've sent an IR Maverick at a ship - but I did do a test (probably a year ago or so) with one in 'standard gates closed' which hit the ship high up towards the super structure / deck, while the second was fired in 'ship gates closed' and it hit just at the waterline. % of damage for each is unknown, but obviously in real life having a missile impact near the waterline would have a much more detrimental outcome compared to hitting high up on the vessel (most of the time). Cheers, Ziptie

Yes, it sounds like you are indeed missing a step. It would be step #4 in my list, replied to you above - how you achieve step #4 is correctly outlined by @Bunny Clark 's reply above. Additional information: There is a caveat to the ability to slew the seeker head of the maverick, in addition to what Bunny stated above. In the options menu, there is a check box that can be selected or not selected, that is labeled as 'realistic TDC slew' (or something close to that) - which will make it so you have to TDC depress and HOLD, slew the seeker head, and then release TDC depress to attempt to lock the desired target. If you do not have 'realistic TDC slew' (or something close to that label) selected, you will not have to TDC depress and HOLD, you can simply slew the seeker head. Unsure if this is actually the cause of your issue, if you are indeed already assigning TDC priority to the maverick display (aka MAV SOI) indicated by the diamond in the top right of the screen. Cheers, Ziptie

I also prefer to have a cold start for any aircraft flown, and agree with others that mission/campaign creators are probably in a difficult position to please both sides (the ones who don't like to cold start and the ones who do). My opinion, it's relatively easy to modify a mission to change an aircraft from a hot start, to a cold start - which I often will open said mission in the ME, and change to cold start if it isn't already. This is a fairly quick procedure, but sometimes it can be more difficult if you have to "get around" the security of it being a purchase mission/campaign. Even still, it is possible to do so and just takes a few more steps..... Just my .02, but again I agree - best to learn the cold start procedure's for the aircraft you fly (and to take it even further, best to learn procedures for failures while in flight - any even fewer people fly with random failures on, compared to not cold starting their aircraft). Cheers, Ziptie

Standalone thread here: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/customer-support/forum-and-site-issues/7138098-just-an-idea Not sure if it would be better suited here, in the 'suggestion box' or best to hope it gets noticed in it's original thread...... Apologies for a double post but I have received quite a few messages regarding the suggestion, majority being positive in reaction to the suggestion. Just an idea: I see that the F-16C forum has a sub forum, labeled 'verified bugs' section. This is a nice idea, wondering if this could be used more successfully (as other aircraft forums only have a section labeled bugs, example: F18C forum) as currently the title is misleading, not correct in many examples as there are threads labeled as 'unable to reproduce' or other acknowledgements that indicate they are indeed not verified bugs....... SUGGESTION: Seems like it could be more logical, and far more helpful - to have a 'verified bugs' section and a 'bugs' section in each respective sub forum. Then, once a bug has been confirmed (or actually verified/acknowledged by ED), that thread would be moved to the verified section and hopefully closed, therefore making searching for bugs a bit easier/clearer - and could possibly result in a decrease of the plethora of multiple threads regarding the same topic/issue. You could even update the sticky thread 'things to know before you post' to direct people to search the 'verified bugs section' prior to creating a thread in the bug section. If I was not clear regarding my point, I'd be happy to try and explain better. Cheers, Ziptie

Check post #4 in the following thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/englis...ht-thrust-f-18 Seemed the OP of the thread above, was having a similar issue as you - my direction fixed the issue for him, hopefully it will do the same for you. This is in regards to assigning the OFF/IDLE detents, which might cause an issue that you are describing. Double check that you are selecting the "assign axis" button on the bottom of the controls menu - to assign the thrust. Also ensure that you disconnect the throttles on your physical HOTAS so you can assign the left and right throttle independently. Last piece of advice/guidance for this issue to try and troubleshoot - is double check that nothing has been bound to the throttle axis' in the UI layer (which has bindings for VR stuff and I believe there is an axis' button on the bottom of that category as well). Ensure that you are selecting the "appropriate" F/A-18C main category as well. There is a "GAME" and "SIM" F/A-18C. You should be using the "F/A-18C SIM" main category, as there are limitations to what you can do when flying in "GAME MODE." Cheers, Ziptie

1. AG master mode 2. Select MAVF 3. IMAV/MAVF display 4. IMAV/MAVF TDCP (SOI) 5. Master ARM ON 6. Uncage/Cage depress Works like a charm for me. Hopefully you might have just been missing a step, or had the step(s) out of order. In regards to the AIM9 (I use the X variant only) - you have to press and briefly hold the uncage/cage button to get them to lock on heat signature, or at least that is what is required for me. I also use the HMD all the time, so not sure if that changes if you are not using the HMD.... Cheers, Ziptie

You can simply flip the toggle switch from DAY to NIGHT to change it to an orange hued color, rather than green to see if that is better for you. If not, pretty sure you need to edit a .lua file - there are numerous posts on this but I do not know off hand. Cheers, Ziptie
