  1. I use RECCE all the time! Turn the HMD dial on after startup, then RECCE switch until I am in the air and ready for it's use. If you could report back here after you've checked your bindings, let us and others know if you've resolved it by what you've discovered - it is nice for us to know, as well as potentially helping others with a similar issue in the future. Cheers, Ziptie
  2. Copy, well if it is a bug and has been confirmed - then good chance you are doing everything correct and I won't speculate on any procedural errors. Hopefully they can get the issue resolved, as it seems like a pretty big one to me and apparently I am not alone in that feeling.... Cheers, Ziptie

    Takeoff Trim

I've never needed to adjust the STABs to more than 16 for takeoff (carrier or airfield). You should be more than fine with 16. Also, it should actually take 3 aft inputs on the trim switch to go from 15 to 16 (or 12 to 13), so you could make the decision to get the STABs to 16, then aft on the trim switch once more - which one could say is probably 16.5 Cheers, Ziptie
  4. Did you 'prep' the external tanks prior to AAR? There is an amount of time it takes, I can't recall off the top of my head but it is a few minutes. Switch is on the port (left) side console, aft of the throttles, that opens the refueling door - but that time is important to allow the external tanks to be refueled. See this video: It's around 4:15 into the video. Cheers, Ziptie
  5. Or you can also have the HSI display, which will show you true and ground speed for reference. Cheers, Ziptie
  6. Try the A10CI training tutorial for the Maverick. Process is the same for firing all models, except the -L (which wasn't available for the "I"). It's under training from main DCS menu. Also, the APKS will only kill a main battle tank with a rear aspect hit, and requires in the neighborhood of 9-10 from my experience. But yeah, APKS are easy to use and fun to employ. It's like having 7 mini mavericks on one station. Glad to hear you are enjoying it, it only gets better from here! Cheers, Ziptie
  7. I think you might find that it actually relaxes you a little bit - you go into subconscious inputs. I try to chit chat with the fellas when I AAR on DCS, it helps. Cheers, Ziptie
  8. When you flip the switch - it definitely changes the aircraft's response to stick commands. I'd say it's implemented. Cheers, Ziptie
  9. Incorrect. You can go back to RWS and press RESET OSB to clear DT1 / DT2. Cheers, Ziptie
  10. I believe I set it to 25 saturation (if it wasn't saturation it was curve but pretty sure it was saturation). For the maverick - when warmed up, I enter 2 from the UFC scratchpad and press the OSB on the mav screen for the slew rate. Cheers, Ziptie
  11. Correct, they don't use DCS. They use the non civilian software. Cheers, Ziptie
  12. That is what I am wondering - if something in their recent update has switched the missile YT fusing to ASL rather than AGL. They used to work perfectly for me, and they've had some issues as of late with no separation (seem like they've not accepted the fusing I entered). Cheers, Ziptie
  13. I would think it would need to be AGL, other wise if you were in Nevada for example: 1500ft AGL would be a massive difference from 1500ft MSL. You know what I mean? some places in Nevada would be 3000 ASL at ground level.... Some places on other maps could actually be below 0 ASL. You'd want the bomblet separation at 1500 AGL so they can disperse correctly, rather than driving all the way into the ground because ground level at that particular point could be 3000 MSL ...... Cheers, Ziptie
  14. No range staple for the APKS rockets. 7-8 miles is typically a PK range for APKS. I did encounter a 'bug' with the CBU-105 where after landing for a rearm and refuel, the range staple was missing from the HUD - even though it showed my range with caret along with release timer. This was after I had a systems failure and had to perform an inflight alignment along with a few other system reboots. After switching aircraft, the issue was resolved - so might have just required me to perform a ground alignment after returning to base. Cheers, Ziptie
  15. Cool, yeah I'm not going to change but can understand your position. I also use a racing / flight simulator, so I don't have wires running everywhere - they are all neatly routed and contained. Just unplug them from the PC and you have take the simulator to another location ( in house or to another if you wish). Thanks for the info, but I will stick with having all the buttons on the HOTAS and leave the touch controllers collecting dust - not my cup of tea. Cheers, Ziptie
  16. Do you have static objects on the deck? Sorry I can't view the video. DCS have acknowledged that ground crew are currently a collision object (incorrectly I believe). Just wondering if there is an object that has been placed on the deck that is causing this issue for you, since it is location specific - and aircraft specific (thinking wing height / store height clearance). I don't have this issue with the supercarrier and launching a Hornet off CAT 1, 2, 3 or 4. Cheers, Ziptie
  17. You AGL correct? If not, that could be your issue. Cheers, Ziptie
  18. Do you have random failures enabled? Did you by chance save the track file after the flight? I use random failures, and the HUD is impacted by this from time to time. Several different things can contribute to this type of failure. Lost all EGI, HUD, right engine and various other systems on Saturday - required appropriate shutdown of systems (and engine), command inflight alignment to get HUD and EGI back online and waiting for right engine temperature to decrease enough to restart engine. Cheers, Ziptie
  19. 1. TGP SOI with appropriate distance to target, with appropriate FOV/zoom and appropriate image display (WHOT/BHOT/CCD) to provide with ample contrast(s) 2. TMS forward short to select point track 3. TMS forward long to create SPI Never used keyboard binds, so might be worth double checking your key binds in case something has been reset/changed/double bound with the new update.... Cheers, Ziptie
  20. Do you have random failures enabled? Random failures are a fun thing to have, and I use them. Sometimes the failure is recoverable / correctable - sometimes it is not and requires a return to base. Random failures is able to be turned on or off, via the DCS main menu options screen. If this isn't the case, the others have stated a good way for you to share a track file when this situation happens to you again. I've ignored commenting on your other thread, posted in the controller section - as it seems you've mistakenly placed it there: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/english/digital-combat-simulator/dcs-a-10c-ii-tank-killer/controller-questions-and-bugs/7123547-a10c-2-startup-sequence Cheers, Ziptie
  21. The HMCS is what the other person was referring to when they said "HMD." You have the HMCS, it comes with the A10C "II" as part of the upgrades. The method the person was trying to relay to you, is incredibly functional - I also outlined this method to you in another post, that you were making a similar complaint / point. Returning the TGP to boresight really isn't a procedure that should be used often, especially after the inclusion of the HMCS. With time, you will probably find a flow that works best for you, maybe you won't - but with the HMCS there is really is zero need to have a boresight TGP option for a HOTAS command. Could it be that you have entered AA mode of the TGP? That is what it sounds like. Possible to make that mistake, and the slew rate would be as you describe. Does it say RATES when you experience this? If not: Ensure your FOV is wide and not narrow - ensure you have no zoom. I know you said you had no zoom, but this functionality you describe is nothing like what I experience. With TGP boresight, wide FOV and no zoom - the TGP slews quickly and precisely. If the TGP has gimbal roll, it will say gimbal roll on the TGP display, just above the targeting gate / crosshair. It really isn't, once you start taking advantage of the HMCS. You can instantly slave the TGP to any point, at any time. You just need to get the "new" flow down. It can take time, don't discourage yourself. It really isn't, see above for guidance. You should do this upon the TGP completing it's on cycle, implementation of all laser guided munitions "easier" and less tasking while employing weapons. Your flow order should be: 1. Find target (point track or area track) TGP would already be SOI. 2. HUD SOI, Master mode to select CCIP, DMS right/left to select MAV-L (1-2 seconds depending on skill) 3. Select MAV display on left MFD (0.5 seconds or less) 4. Master ARM and LASER ARM on after rolling (0.5 seconds or less) 5. Coolie switch left long MAV SOI (0.5 seconds or less) 6. NWS to fire laser (0.1 seconds) 7. TMS forward short for MAV seeker head to find laser. (0.1 seconds) 8. Weapon release (0.1 seconds or less) Total time excluding finding target: less than 4-5 seconds (depending on skill / familiarity of flow) Turn laser off after weapon has reached it's taret. It's like they want to implement realistic functionality - not to make it difficult for you. That is why training happens (in real life and even here) - so it becomes instinctive, rather than reactionary. You'll get used to it, just takes some time. Cheers, Ziptie
  22. Excellent news, and happy to assist! Enjoying employing freedom on moving targets now! Cheers, Ziptie
  23. Yes it certainly would help to have a higher definition VR headset, but as you say the cost increases with that, as does the cost of the PC that you would need to run that higher quality headset. That being said, I have a very underpowered GPU for what DCS has become - and use the original Oculus CV1 headset. Might help that I have 20/13 vision I guess, but I can still read the MFDs in the Viper and A10C, along with the DDIs in the Hornet. They aren't crisp, but still readable. Possibly just become used to it and able to decipher the text because of that. I can certainly say that after flying in DCS, the real world is much clearer and easier to see  Cheers, Ziptie
  24. Sounds like you might want to double check any bindings for it. Seems like it is constantly being adjusted (probably a double bind from the recent update - it did all sorts of weird things to many people's key binds). Cheers, Ziptie
  25. You should also be able to SCS in the direction the FLIR is displayed, to cycle between INR, ATRK and PTRK. INR will allow you to slew the FLIR and re-designate with TDC depress when you are over your truly desired target. Cheers, Ziptie
