Were the deck crew lods tweaked with this update?
Ziptie replied to Eight Ball's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Also working correctly for me - hand signals, shooter shoots, etc etc Have you attempted a repair? Cleared the FXO/metashaders? Terrain shadercache and metacache's? Any mods? Cheers, Ziptie -
I've +1'd that request as well, an actionable visor would be a welcome addition for all aircraft. Cheers, Ziptie

Copy that sir, looking forward to seeing what you all find. Cheers, Ziptie

I don't experience any issue with the HUD being too dark, approaching twilight and at night, but I use VR, so everything is very dark during these times of 'day'. Do you use VR? What are your gamma settings at (in DCS main menu options tab under graphics header)? Guessing you are also actuating the day/night toggle switch below the UFC to dim the HUD display intensity during these conditions as well. Cheers, Ziptie

Excellent, thank you @Snoopy - didn't realize this was implemented! Cheers, Ziptie

Copy that sir, sounds indeed like a potential scripting issue. Happy to hear that this issue hasn't plagued you in other tasking. Still interested in what was causing it. Random failures isn't enabled by chance is it, via ME for that particular mission? I know that in a mission I fly, random failures is enabled - and constantly throws the same failures when they arise... Just a final "spit ball" attempt at finding the cause. Cheers, Ziptie

I will only comment on this, as many others have chimed in regarding the rest of your original post. Yes, I think joining a Discord server that has a good group of people (which can be tricky to find sometimes) is incredibly beneficial. Some have a 'training' section, where documents and discussion are posted. Being able to "be flying" and asking questions to another member who knows that aircraft inside and out is incredibly beneficial, in my opinion. Many people, myself included, have taught people things while both flying - having live comms, and even being able to stream what you are doing to get feedback / guidance on topics/issues. This is a good section to find some groups: https://forums.eagle.ru/forum/dcs-wo...ron-recruiting I know of a couple good opportunities (Discord servers) that you might be interested in - feel free to PM me and I will send them over if you are interested. Once you get up to speed and confident, I know of a really great and unique server like no other out there where you (and others) can experience what DCS should and can be. Cheers, Ziptie

The member above is correct. After slaving the maverick to generated SPI, with maverick SOI you need to TMSFS (forward short) to attempt a valid lock. There are times where the maverick might not be able to distinguish enough contrast and display this message as well - but give the advice above a go and let us know if you have resolved the issue. It can be a good learning lesson for others and not just you if you share the successful employment with the new advice. Cheers, Ziptie

This is correct - and you are also able to get another visual cue from the TGP as the gate (or crosshair) will display as a Maltese Cross, rather than the standard gate (cross hair). Cheers, Ziptie

I find in VR that is in very unrealistic / functional to have it only displayed in one eye - as VR doesn't properly replicate how our eyes interpret images/scenery in real life. It gives an odd perception. 20/13 corrected vision with IPD set (manual slider on Rift) to real life IPD from eye doctor. When I tried rendering HMCS (A10) and HMD (F18) in a single eye, I did have it rendered on my dominant eye, maybe I should try it on the non dominant eye? Wondering if this isn't the case for you? Cheers, Ziptie

@BIGNEWY - this thread should also be closed. Thanks again to the team for adding the flashlight to the A10C. Cheers, Ziptie

:argue: "Double Ugly" configuration isn't shorthand. It's a nickname. A moniker. He explained it and showed a picture for reference for those who weren't understanding what he was saying. It's a lot easier to say "Double Ugly" than to explain the asymmetric loadout of a double ugly. Build a bridge and get over it - it was 10 days ago. @ST0RM - Did you ever encounter this issue again, or discover the cause of it? Following up to see if we can get the explanation for any others who might have this issue - or whether it is time to request this thread be closed. Cheers, Ziptie

I do not know the exact range that the confliction would happen, but 50 meters would definitely have a confliction. I've dropped on a target that was 1-2nm from the JTAC lase and had my bomb go for his laser. That is why I choose to have at least two of the three GBU-12's that I typically have on the aircraft set to a different laser code. Can always switch them back in flight with the current capability of the DSMS. I also experienced issues with the GBU-38 missing the target. Dropped from FL150, FL180, and FL200 - all three missed the target (SPI was generated from a PTRK in BHOT FLIR from 8nm). Target was in an flat, open field. I have not dropped a GBU-54 with the most current version of Open Beta (released 11/18/2020 xxxxxxxxxx949). Plan on testing that Saturday if I am able to fly virtually. Cheers, Ziptie

reported earlier HMD target designation shifts - Slant range related
Ziptie replied to GVakarian32's topic in Bugs and Problems
AGR is a good point. I noticed that after I've designated a target via HMD, if I SCS forward short - it shows AGR on the HUD and then the target goes to a random location off the nose of the aircraft, most of the time somewhere between 50-100nm out. Not sure what that is all about, forgot to include that snippet in my initial post. Cheers, Ziptie -
[REPORTED ALREADY]Keybind to power on the HMCS?
Ziptie replied to ry-ballz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I haven't flown the Viper too much as of yet. Once the Hornet is close to finished, I will probably start flying the Viper a bit more and most likely at that time - I will work on building a pit for the Viper as well. A10C is my first love, Hornet second, Viper third. That being said - when the Mudhen gets released, the Viper pit build might get pushed behind the Mudhen. We shall see. Cheers, Ziptie -
Yes, you can go into the controls menu, select A10CII via drop down box, select save icon (top center or right portion of the screen) - then select the A10C via drop down box, select load (similar location to the save icon) and choose the file you just saved for the A10CII. I would then choose the save icon again, and save those newly copied over bindings into the A10C file location (same button as 1st instruction above). Hope that makes sense. Cheers, Ziptie

It also does it with: HMD and FLIR on. Designate with HMD SOI. Observe the FLIR start to slide across the ground. Only way to stop the 'slide' is to TDC priority(SOI) FLIR and either 'bump' the TDC or change to ATRK or PTRK. Cheers, Ziptie -
Oh, apologies. When I fire the missile and it climbs well above my aircraft when I am at FL300 at the time of employment - I consider that lofting. I don't fire them on the deck, so my frame of reference only is at high altitudes. I added clarification in my previous post to acknowledge and mitigate confusion. Cheers, Ziptie

When I plan on employing GBU-12's with a mix of buddy lase and self lase - I do what you outlined in the original post, however I never take a TER. Typically will only take 3, but sometimes will load up 4 ( station 4,5,7,8 ) - will have two different codes across the four stations. I used to use auto lase and LS time a few years ago - but lately I don't do this, instead choosing to manually lase. I find that it a bit more satisfying and feel it keeps me from becoming complacent after releasing the weapon. In regards to the multiple profiles, I feel like this is something that you can do but am not 100% certain. Certainly worth testing, and will hopefully get another chance to fly virtually this coming Saturday. This also allows for selecting CCRP and GBU-12 via master mode on HOTAS with HUD SOI, then simply deselecting the station that doesn't match the code I am employing on (JTAC or self lase), alleviating any auto lase fail message and allowing for various altitude drop points. That being said, I agree with you in regards to being cumbersome when selecting the variation of profile via the DSMS and not sure how you would be able to differentiate the two profiles if you were cycling through via master mode select on the HOTAS with HUD SOI. Certainly a worthy question you've posed, been flying the A10C for years now and a rare time when a question is asked that I cannot speak with certainty of an answer. :book: Cheers, Ziptie

So what are the differences between all the GBU-31 we have now ?
Ziptie replied to secretcode's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I found that the V1 and V2 fell short each time I tried to employ them (2x each respectively), where the V3 and V4 hit their target each time I tried to employ them (2x each respectively). It's almost as if the V1 and V2 fell with a traditional Mk84 "dumb bomb" free fall, even though coordinates were entered via PP mode each time. I did not know the information that @KlarSnow stated above, in regards to the thermal coatings that will hopefully make it into DCS eventually. I did observe the V1 and V2 being a Mk84 casing with the guidance kit attached, where as the V3 and V4 have the penetrator casing (so to speak) as you and Klar both stated. Cheers, Ziptie -
