  1. Is it possible that the initial IFEI display is displaying an external fuel tank level (which could have been depleted)? I’ve accidentally done this and had a heart beat skip when glancing down to check fuel level before... just a thought. Not sure that would reflect on the fuel page on a DDI, but haven’t tried to see if it mirrors - as it breaks down all the different tanks in and attached to airframe. Haven’t flown since the newest update, or the particular mission you are flying. Cheers, Ziptie
  2. Seems like you might now be aware, but if you are I apologize for giving information that isn’t needed. The Hornet HSI is able to be viewed without the moving map, left column of OSB, middle OSB, press it twice and this will disable the map. Similar to how the SA page can have the moving map displayed or not displayed. Cheers, Ziptie
  3. No worries sir. Yeah this forum has a lot of members who are on the harsh, unhelpful and at times disrespectful in their replies. I am also like you, do my best to search for the answer before asking a question - but sometimes we just can’t find it. Hopefully you’ve got it sorted now and are back to operating the systems as desired! Cheers, Ziptie
  4. Don't let the exceptionally harsh post discourage you. Selecting the HMCS used to be coolie switch forward/up - but has now been changed to coolie switch aft/down, as they eventually pointed out. This HOTAS command logic was changed with the most recent update. Cheers, Ziptie
  5. Via MFD, did you select the LOAD OSB and then select the LOAD DSMS OSB after the aircraft has been completely armed? Works fine for me. Cheers, Ziptie
  6. Or you can press the OSB below ACK which will be displayed on the MFDs. This also allows you to reference the message, which as another stated, is highlighted by a white box on the bottom right of each MFD. Cheers, Ziptie
  7. We've had this in the wish list section for both A10C's now for quite some time - sadly doesn't appear to have been addressed or acknowledged by anyone at ED as of yet. I put it in the A10C wish list section over a year ago, and pretty quick when the "II" forum was created. I'll +1 the request, hopefully threads will merge and draw some attention from ED when that happens..... I find it interesting that adding that line of code is literally all it takes to get a flashlight into the A10C and will happily try that the next time I am able to devote some time to flying virtually. Greatly appreciated for providing that information @Chump ! Cheers, Ziptie
  8. The talk on for contact is something that I personally feel could be of some benefit - but there is also the side that there would be a delay in the talk on for many who struggle with PIOs or simply being way too off alignment. I still feel that it could be of benefit, however being able to turn off the feature if implemented - would be a must. Personally, I don't really have an issue with AAR in the F16, I found it quite intuitive. Struggled the first two times with PIOs but have performed at least 15 now and don't have any issue getting a complete transfer of internal and external wing tanks. As for how difficult it would be to implement - no idea as that is out of my realm - but if they can model an A10C to be as realistic as it is in terms of system functionality and flight dynamics of different aircraft, I'd bet they could achieve this. Cheers, Ziptie
  9. Copy that, well sounds like the peace and quiet will remain for me while flying the Hog :pilotfly: Cheers, Ziptie
  10. In the previous version of the A10C - there was an audible warning to go along with the engine fire visual indication. Wondering if this is part of the "missing" tones that they have already discussed in previous posts - and whether or not some will return (along with Bitchin' Betty). I'm absolutely ok without them to be fair, as it is impossible to not see the master caution flashing (or even the fire pull handle illuminations). Cheers, Ziptie
  11. Closest you can get would be to selective jettison with armed fuses - it will still release them with slight separation. Cheers, Ziptie
  12. The IR COOL switch has absolutely nothing to do with the RWR and EW page. Couldn't be further away from system integration there. SP mode: 1.RWR ON. 2.EW display 3.Box HUD via OSB (you now don't have to have the EW page displayed at all after this) 4.Master Arm ON 5.A/G master mode 6.Select HARM 7.When in SP mode, desired emitter target is selected via RAID/FLIR/FOV depression 8.Weapon release and call magnum TOO mode is performed via the HARM display, requires TDC priority to be set to the HARM display, desired emitter target is still cycled via RAID/FLIR/FOV depression, but handoff is required and achieved via cage/uncage depression and confirmed via H-OFF being displayed above the boxed emitter. Weapon release and call magnum. I haven't looked at Chuck's guide in quite some time, but just sent some HARMs off on my last flight this past Saturday. Above is how it works, absolutely nothing to do with IR COOL. Not sure if you've got some weird double binds going on, or what exactly is happening on your side - but it isn't correct. Cheers, Ziptie
  13. With Master ARM on A/G mode selected LTD/R switch ARM MAV-E SOI Press weapon release once (you will get LTD/R indication on FLIR display) MAV-E will uncage and search for laser Once LKD indication on HUD, press weapon release again to fire the weapon. Shack. Cheers, Ziptie

    GRID

+1 That is exactly how I interpreted the OP. I would also like to know this information, so I will reiterate what I believe the OP was asking: With the incoming UTM / GRID coordinate format for the Hornet - will you be able to have the coordinates displayed on the FLIR in UTM/GRID format, rather than just the current lat/long format? Thanks. Cheers, Ziptie
  15. ^^ this, 100% ^^ Cheers, Ziptie
  16. I've not observed this behavior at all. Laser stays firing until impact for me, and requires me to depress NWS to disengage laser after impact. This behavior is observed with all laser guided weapons, all successful impacts on target, with spot on (flashing L). Odd you are having this issue. No possibility of double binds, or accidently pressing NWS after employment of weapon? If not, wondering if you have 'burned the laser out' - as @AW139 mentioned above. Cheers, Ziptie
  17. If you are still having issues changing the FLIR display between CCD and thermal image - you have to depress and hold the RAID/FLIR button for approximately 0.5 seconds (I apologize that I don't know the specific amount of ms required of depression). Could it be that you aren't holding the command long enough? That command, will cycle between CCD and one of the thermal imaging modes - to cycle between the two different thermal imaging modes, you have to use the OSB on the FLIR display. I just tried it today, a pair of IR Maverick's on board - worked as described above, as expected. Maverick was cooled down and selected while in A/G master mode and Maverick display active on LDDI, FLIR on RDDI, FLIR SOI. Cheers, Ziptie
  18. I think you mean disingenuous :megalol: Indigenous would be used to describe people native to an area/region/country, etc. Back on topic for me - I agree that the Viper is still capable of A/G operations, but a much more limited scope currently, compared to the Hornet. I'd choose the Hornet over the Viper for A/G employment between the two at the moment - but I choose neither of them and use the A10C (yes the new one and it's dumb to call it the "II"). Viper for A/A Hornet for A/A and A/G mix Hog all day for A/G Cheers, Ziptie
  19. Happy to assist. Cheers, Ziptie
  20. The radar toggle switch is on the armament panel (same panel as the master arm and laser arm switches). Another used mentioned to put the radar into STBY - however it is labeled as SILENT to do this. The three position switch is labeled: RF NORM / QUIET / SILENT. See attached photo. Cheers, Ziptie
  21. Only when an IR missile is fired at you :megalol: Cheers, Ziptie
  22. Odd. Have you double checked your bindings to make sure nothing has been double bound? There have been several people, myself included - who have discovered some double binds / weird assignments to default key binds. I have not personally encountered the issue you have, but I have done the procedure you've outlined more times than I can count - never experiencing what you have described. Double check those binds (and axis binds) - could be something odd going on there. Cheers, Ziptie
  23. GPS air to ground bombs, correct. Pretty similar to what you see when employing an IR maverick (for display in the HUD). Cheers, Ziptie
  24. Correct, but they can shack a tank - although they are not really practical in that sense - it can be done. Cheers, Ziptie
  25. It’s not a video. It’s an interactive tutorial, that you fly while being shown and told how to operate systems. It’s through the main DCS menu, training, A10C “I”, maverick tutorial. There are several others in there that will directly crossover to the “II” model. Some that will have an exceptionally small change to controls, but all completely worth it. Cheers, Ziptie
