The camel's nose...then users would be demanding a map , ground assets , balloons , dirigibles , and so on and so on ad infinitum . I have to say that flying WW1 aircraft in VR in that other sim is awesome though !

Do you have vsync checked ? Depending on number of ai assets , missions can be problematic , and more so if you're running 2.56 . AI is hard on cpu .

Yeah , sure wish Oculus would allow us some control over updates . I'm firmly in the "if it ain't broke , don't fix it" camp . Thing is , all these forced updates aren't even for the RiftS . They are for the Quest , which is the focus of Oculus' development efforts . But we still get bugged . Just had two forced updates for Steam VR (installed for another sim) . Lost screen focus and mouse . Uninstalled Steam , and downloaded Open Composite . Much smoother and no problems . Will do the same for Oculus 1st chance i get . (Open VR ?)

Actually , YT channel Benchmark PC Tech comparison of some 50+ games , the 2070S traded blows very effectively with a 1080ti .

Because you're on open beta :) This is a well-known problem . Perhaps it will be addressed in this week's update . If you have room , consider downloading the stable version as well . That way , when ED crushes your dreams in OB , you have an alternative .

Yeah i use Skatezilla's GUI daily . Very easy to switch vr/pancake . I close the utility as soon as i see the "logging in" screen so no overhead . Got succesive updates to Steam VR (for a WW2 sim i fly) and it broke mouse and window focus . Got tired of their cr*p and downloaded Open Composite . Much better ! Bug-free and smoother . Uninstalled Steam and Steam vr . Dunno if it works for WMR or not...

That screen shows u have a 6600 cpu , 8gig mem , and 27 gig disk space Check settings>system>about . If that matches your sig , you're good . Wmr test is bad . If it shows the same as the wmr test screen , reinstall windows . Edit: sniped !

Why does that screen not match your hardware ? Did you do something funky commissioning the 'puter ? Looks to me like you need to reinstall Windows . (Or the WMR check is bugged , in which case ignore it)

+1 here...as problematic as it can be at times , there is nothing else like it in terms of graphics , systems and flight modelling . I,ve been flying since 1.56 and there are moments that still take my breath away...

Welcome to the forum ! If you can get all that for ~200 go for it ! But be prepared to dial down your expectations a bit . Firstly YT vids are often post-processed , so hopes of matching their quality is a bit unrealistic . No , you won't be running "max" settings , but you will be running substantially better than now . Try to get memory with the same part number as yours , and make sure your pagefile is running on the ssd .

Would require a dedicated map , and at least some assets . Flight models would be problematic as well . Not many original WW1 aircraft flying , particularly with period engines .

Quite agree . I came out of vr a couple of days ago to find the room dark . RiftS was still tracking perfectly in DCS .

There is no such thing as better or worse . They all have their pluses and minuses , and your individual usages , preferences , ipd and cranial physique all must be taken into account .
