Opinion on Joystick Position Center or on your right side.
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to kmaultsby's topic in Thrustmaster
when flying sidestick, where would be your mfds located? -
Consider some desk mounts or even chair mounts, it will improve ergonomics a lot. Even adapting the racing rig with HOTAS brackets/supports. Otherwise your upper back will hurt soon.

TWCS and Nyogel 767A - jerky rapid motion issue
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to mtpiperpilot's topic in Thrustmaster
There are: - gel lube - silicone - white lithium grease - multi-use -
Just go to DCS - Settings - Controls, find the particular device column, double click over the name DCS chose by default (Button box) and type the name you want. No idea for Windows though.

TWCS and Nyogel 767A - jerky rapid motion issue
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to mtpiperpilot's topic in Thrustmaster
Yeah, there is some versions, others based on lithium grease. Yours look like the very same which worked for metal friction instead of plastic, the one used for carrier personnel to lube tomcat nozzles -
Go to controls and a10cII and check if the joy input shows up

30 years ago - Operation Desert Storm
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to VTJS17_Fire's topic in Military and Aviation
Firstly, bear in mind I enjoy reading pilots books and stories from cockpit rather than a condesed presentation with some data sheet. Regarding books, I would add: "Every man a tiger" by Tom Clancy and Gen Glosson, who planned the air campaign "Ironclaw": I think it was published at the same time than Vipers in the Storm, it got very good reviews, I haven´t read it yet "Angel of attack": the war from the point of view of an A-6 pilot flying missions from USS Ranger "Tornado down" is the experience of a British Tornado crew who got shot down by a SAM. "Hogs in the sand": very recently released, I´m loving it, pilot´s view using A-10 based on England. At some point it connects with "Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War". For ground operations, you have "Bravo two zero", a British SAS commando in a risky mission. There is even a BBC TV film and followup books from other members of the group. https://youtu.be/aS_6Yz_eHhw -

Help me to understand this VR and DCS stuff

If it gets bblurry when you move your head, it could be retro projection related -
Hi guys, I was wondering if there are known areas in Syria map where Armed Forces of any of the countries involved train. Range areas for strafing and bombing, in order to recreate them with 476th Range Object mod and Moose Range function.

When I grab flight stick of a10 it goes to the full back.
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Papa_Kanoosh's topic in Virtual Reality
check the controls - A10(model you fly) - Axis section just in case DCS binded your pitch axis control to other(s) device(s), maybe some USB device is overriding your joystick input -
VR vs a very large monitor with TrackIR
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Sparrow_1976's topic in Virtual Reality
It seems I can´t refrain myself from chiming in. Did you install the extra lenses you ordered? Did you try different settings, PD, supersampling and whatnot? Do you consider 48 hours time enough to test? to develop some muscle memory for your buttonboxes and addons? to "retrain" your neck which has also been spoilt against moving 1:1 realistic tracking? Regarding the most important issue I had to give up drinking using a pint-size glass and changed to normal, regular 33cl cans, the smaller the hole, the better. Happy flying sir! -
Sold, thanks everyone.

My 4 Thrustmaster MFDs don't keep stable control mappings
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to lwalter's topic in Thrustmaster
Try doubleckicking them in order to type a different name for each. Just the header of each column device I have 3 renamed to mfd left, right and center and most of time they run flawlessly -

Last week a sqnmate commented that as well, I wonder if there is a solution elsewhere or it´s just a DIY thing. -
VR vs a very large monitor with TrackIR
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to Sparrow_1976's topic in Virtual Reality
There is no valid alternative to VR outside VR. Once you try both systems you will notice they are two quite different things. I will consider into your equation the pricetag of the monitor you mentioned VS VR headsets pricetags. Also it would be useful to know your rig specs to have an idea if you need to spend more the achieve a decent VR experience, in my case VR performance is about 60-70% worse than 2D monitor. Regarding your omnipresent pheripheral, bear in mind this, some days, I just use my old 24" FullHD Asus monitor to turn the computer on, start Oculus home, Oculus Tray Tool, Simshaker for Aviators and DCS. Then headset on and that´s it I´m eyeing now and then bigger monitors 2K of WHD but end up not buying so far. -
CombatWombat's Airfield Diagrams: Syrian Theatre
Ala12Rv-Tundra replied to shu77's topic in DCS: Syria Map
Excuse my question, so the Syria user made charts are only base diagrams, they don´t include arrival and departure sheets, right? is that info available online somewhere else? -
I had a similar issue when upgrading to RTX 2080ti, guess what, the Gigabyte RGB fusion software to control LEDs and fan, caused flickering. I just uninstalled it, after asking for advice on DCS VR FB group. Check it out in case you have it.

Hi there, I already have my VAICOM TX bindings for my TM Warthog throttle. I would like to add 2 TX bindings for my Cougar throttle, can I do that, having both units plugged?

After watching that excellent tutorial, I ended up with this values, remember to check "Slider" and "User curve" options: 0-8-15-23-35-48-60-70-80-90-100 -
One important reason for people loving and taking advantage of A-10C stuff is its released date. Many many flight hours under their belt, in a time where hifi modules were scarce and people didn´t have to split time among modules I´m certain when users get the same amount of hours using any other module, they would also feel confident enough on those particular avionics systems.

I bind wheel brakes to CMS depress. It´s a 0-1 digital input so I lock tires a lot. However I find very tricky the movement, does applying wheel brakes create a turning momentum?? can the Viper only brake in straight line? Even when I start from Senaki hangars, when I brake before turning to enter the taxiway, the aircraft seems to slide to one side. Is it something related to the nose wheel being single arm attached to the frame?
