DCS: Yak-52 by Eagle Dynamics FIXED: Reflections too strong under flashlight My new fav patch fix ;) Doesn't seem like a lot of love for Apache bugs in this patch though. No fixed for the F10 map CTDs ?? when switching between it when flying. Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk

Cfag great missions mate our group is loving it. I have a question how do I hide the units and smoke markers showing on the F10 map, I cant seems to find them when trying to edit the mission, I have hidden all the Farp assets and no essential items (which is how our guys like the map to look) but just cant find those items I mentioned. Also do new rescue missions auto generate like your Angels missions. ?? Cheers

Wouldn't the business decision to make the module in the first place ,mean your committed to completing it and that in itself is a commitment to your customers who purchase it, this goes for any module Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk

Man the excuses that are being posted about the lack of available manpower for the small Yak issues that need fixing are very telling. I purchased it using the same decision as I purchased the F18, F16, SC, and many more ED module, that I would get a complete and working module at some point, at this point its still EA and the F16 isn't, which is more complex. I don't care if it was a private product released to us, I don't care if you don't have enough manpower to fix it, that's not my issue that's your issue as a company, you took on the project, you sold it with features and into the DCS eco system, your still selling it, you should complete it or at least fix bugs that have been listed and not fixed for years. Stop working on the F6F/E for 3 months and fix the Yak, we don't have that plane yet so its made you no money, wont harm anyone to wait another 3 months for a plane not released. At this stage I,m regretting my pre purchase of the Afghan map and really will consider all my purchases of ED modules in the future seeing how the community mangers engage with long term customers when asked about certain products.

Sorry BN, he mentioned it was not early access, I pointed out it still was. But really if ED is so aware of the bugs that affect the Yak52 why don't ED just fix them instead of asking for more bug reports on bugs that have posted and report a long time ago and finish the Yak52 off and remove it from EA, agreed they are not game breaking but are annoying at best to me and I'm your customer who purchased it in good faith, and still like to fly it, warts and all.
-
Thanks for replying NL, but the the Yak is still early access according to your web site There are still very active bug reports on items broken on the Yak52 with no attention too them at all, I'm sure you have logs with reports about bugs and broken stuff, well at least ED should if they are actively tracking bugs. null

I don't believe this is a very true statement, when was the last time a ED module team worked on the Yak52 or the Mossie, the Yak52 has languished unfinished for quite a few years. I know this will go unanswered as every time I have mentioned the Yak52 and why its not had bug fixes to get it out of EA its been ignored.

With this hobby, storage space is one of the cheapest parts, I have loads more invested in button boxes and other addons to make this a near as I can to a flying experience in what module of choice I fly. a 4TB fast MVM drive is damm cheap compared to other items I have purchased. Also if you want carrier ops and live by them then the Afghanistan is not your gig its pretty simple choice really, you have about 6 other maps you can fly CV ops from, me ill be having fun with ground based units and fly from the CV on other maps. As far as knowing if its a map you want, well you wont know until you see reviews, so dont pre purchase just wait it out, you will lose about $20 while you wait (2 Bigmac and chips)

Thanks for answering my questions, I have just pre-order the full map (even though I said I wouldn't do EA) I'm a sucker for maps and screenshots looked great and its not all desert

It says it here in the FAQ, but im not expecting ED to stick to that as they have never stuck to what they have said in the past about up and coming modules when they put these press releases out null
-
So just to confirm and im not confused with what was said, if NL or BN can confirm it based on the FAQ. I buy the full map in June (lets say the end of it) get the Southwest region in high detail, the East and North in low detail, just saying im ok with this. End of Sept (3 months), I would revive a map update adding the next high detail part (East Afghanistan) End of Dec (3 months), I would receive a map update adding the next part (North Afghanistan) Now if the time lines blow out, can I expect this to do what other ED modules have done and extend well out past your 3 month predictions ?? into years of waiting, I believe you know or should know how far each part is and should be able to at least share some insight if you want to give the community clarity with the way you are releasing this. Thanks, not pre-ordered yet waiting to see how my questions are answered
-
I'll apologise if thats how it came across, sorry. I'm happy to wait 9 months for all 3 parts, that is in accordance with the plan in the FAQ Sent from my CPH2333 using Tapatalk

If you believe that then you haven't been here a long time.

In my experience ED have a bad habit of moving on to the next new thing and forgetting the last great thing from 2 release back or so (with slow updates), promising to show so much when they can, but never do with the std line, "we will show you more when its ready" so in essence all ways keeping us the customer in the dark about updates coming to the sim. Im burnt out by the early access model ED uses, I have nearly all the modules, but most of my ED modules I have are still in EA waiting for updates that never happen or do very slowly, Heatblur took the EA model to the next level and it damage my EA faith. I nearly pushed buy today, but reminded my self about my EA burnout, ill wait and see if BN or NL answer my questions.

My questions are will the the EA become like a 5-7 experience and the 2 other portions of the map to go high detail take forever, what's the release plan for the other 2 high detail areas (even though it may never be stuck too) This is all based on EDs past record, Supercarrier still in EA with lots of promised features still not available (no updates in 2 years), YAK52, 5 years on still broken in parts and in EA with no updates. Also AI assets for this region....any new ones coming to make this a proper Afghan playground, will the ground AI pathfinding be improved as it current has major issues driving around Syria and Sinia The above are all valid reason to be cautious about a stage release from ED Thanks

This is indeed good news, looking forward to seeing what you can show us.

Hi, has anyone found any information to move the George target list in VR via a .lua file, its a little low to read well and could do with being moved up and left a bit. Cheers

To be fair when the A10C came out Caucus was the only map around for a while. A10C released February 2011, in 2015 Nevada was released so prior to that Caucus was all we could fly it on. I have plenty of modules and have loads of fun in them, but I fly them for the combat part, Im sure the LA7 will be a blast, I fly it lots elsewhere, but there is more to a good war scenario than just 1x BF109, but that's my take I'm sure plenty others will enjoy it nd wish the dev good luck with it.

Our squad is really enjoying this mission on the Syria map, we have added in the UH-60L and made a separate night version and also versions with rain and wind, we also changed the wind to 310 so it blew away from most of the hospital landing zones stopping the smoke from covering the landing pad. My only suggestion would to reduce the smoke size and maybe make the smoke colors random for MP so you can call out what color smoke your going for. Other than this minor things this is great fun.

As I said I will wait for ED to release its PTO items to come out and see what's included, but we could be easily 5-10 years away for a fully fleshed out PTO asset pack based on how long it takes to get stuff from concept to release, even the WW2 Asset pack in its current form is very lacking for the Normandy map we have but it at least can help makeWW2 in that area work to some degree. But at least the PTO has something coming for it that will suite the 2 planes (both allied), the LA7 will have nothing for it as EF assets for a long time. For casual flying and using planes as a flying experience I use something different for that.
-
Its the reason I do not buy ED modules that have no use other than training or flying as war relic/museum piece, I do actually own the F86 but I purchased that as my group built a semi Vietnam mission with the Marianas map. Im not even going near the PTO items until I see what ED does with it, a Corsair, F6F and AI Zero will not make a PTO war viable experience.

F-4E Phantom II Development Update and Release Delay Announcement
Hotdognz replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Im not surprised at all and a little disappointed, but happy to wait for the serious bugs to be ironed out, just glad its not a module I'm hanging out for.
