It seems that there is a bug with the AZ/EL page, where you will no longer be able to manipulate elevation if you have driven the elevation to extreme top or bottomby an axis. Steps: 1) drive elevation to top with elevation axis 2) Center with AZ/EL cursor 3) drive the elevation further up with axis 4) continue repeating until AZ/EL no longer has control Elevation can now only be set with the axis. Come to think of it, this is probably related to the bug where TWS AUTO/MAN won't center on target. AZ-EL page radar elevation.trk

Here are a few tracks of me headon with an AI F-18 at 500knots GS. Two in a lookdown and one in a lookup situation. I the lookup there are of course no problems detecting the F-18, but in both lookdown situations the track is lost somewhere between 10-20 NM, and the headon F-18 is never detected in MPRF mode. Certainly in DCS and I suppose IRL since that's what the module is modelled after. But it makes sense because you would probably soft lock the #1 ranked target anyway since that should be that primary thread based on a number of thing. Then you can just tap your way through the ranks to get info on the various threats on radar using just the pinky. Even during maneuvers, which makes it difficult to use the cursor. Just to add to what @Harker wrote. The TDC control IRL is force sensitive so you have a completely different kind of control over the cursor. Much faster response since there is no travel.

Undesignate might not be the right name for that button, since it does different things depending on the mode you're in. In A-G though, it does undesignate. If you don't have any target designated in A-A, pressing undesignate will soft lock the #1 ranked contact.

CB-105's are just plain ridiculous.

Yeah. Pretty ugly weapon. https://www.military.com/video/logistics-and-supplies/air-force-equipment/us-air-force-sensor-fuzed-weapon/3812620039001 -
IFF slow to return. Am I setting it up wrong?
Svend_Dellepude replied to Gogojuice's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Which actually makes me wonder if there is either a NCTR or mode 4 memory stored with the track. As of now that doesn't seem to be the case. A target can flick back and forth between unk and hostile depending on whether it is locked is STT, SAM or just tracked. -
Radar Antenna Elevation Axis Control
Svend_Dellepude replied to Archer.xd's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
The thing is that you also can control the elevation from the AZ/EL page, which you wouldn't be able to if you had the absolute axis option, as that axis would grab the elevation back if there is the slightest noise in the potentiometer. -
Radar Antenna Elevation Axis Control
Svend_Dellepude replied to Archer.xd's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
https://www.wwsimstore.com/p/324.html This throttle and it's bigger brother has a spring loaded axis like the F-18. On my WH throttle I just programmed a button to be an axis. Works also. -
Searching for proof of underperforming AN/APG-73 radar

WIP I guess. Once LOST is there it doesn't go away. I guess it's on the list of things. -

Lodge a missile in his a**. That usually puts an end to it. -
MK-20's works great with the Harrier using CCIP.

Dunno if you tried to pm mods, but if not you can try that. They are nice guys.

DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer by Eagle Dynamics CCIP PBIL becomes horizontal on the HUD after some flight time - fixed Didn't notice until I read your comment, but yes, sounds like it could be related. EDIT: Not the same issue. Thread about t here:

Changing weapons while in VACQ swappes the axis of the radar search pattern. Steps to reproduce. 1: select any msl mode 2: castle forward and then back to enter VACQ. 3: change to another msl mode and the search pattern will now have 140 dgs vertical scan in for instance MRM or AMRAAM mode and 4 or 2 bar horisontal scan. VACQ weapon change bug.trk
-
ACM WACQ will be overridden by the missile mode saved setting when changing missile mode. Steps to reproduce: 1: Select Sparrow 2: Castle forward and then left to enter WACQ 3: Change weapon mode to sidewinder 4: Sidewinder default even though ACM is still boxed and WACQ is still displayed 5: Change back to Sparrow and now the radar has a 140dgs azimuth scan with auto lock WACQ weapon change bug.trk

WACQ will return to GACQ if lock is lost and then remain in 20dgs by 5B scan when entering a missile mode. Steps to reproduce: 1: Lock a target up in WACQ 2: Loose the lock 3: Search pattern is now 20dgs by 5B even though it still says WACQ 4: Change weapon mode to Sparrow or whatever. 5: Radar will be 20dgs azimuth and 5B scan WACQ to lost lock to RWS bug.trk

Wags said in an interview some time ago that there were aspects of the Hornets slow speed handling that ED couldn't model. That might have something to do with what you are seeing. Don't remember when or where it was.

A/G radar azimuth can be steered?
Svend_Dellepude replied to Svend_Dellepude's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks for the reply. Hope that will make it into our Hornet. -
How do you explain this then? I noticed the same. I'm also starting to think that the windspeed might not be 0 in the sim but 0,x.
