  1. Sparrows are oldschool and cool! Don't expect to get long range hits against fighter targets. When the bandit maneuvers you have to maneuver too to avoid him getting in the notch.
  2. The button names in @Lange_666 post is for the Warthog stick. They will work for the F-18 stick but hat 3 will be shared between hat 2 and rocker switch. Hat 2 press would be H3L. Rocker press would be H3R. Up/down is H3U/H3D respectively. From memory, so might not be the exact. The F-18 has it's own names, which i should have in a file somewhere. I'll see if I can dig them up. And I believe that pickle is S2 and RECCE is S1. EDIT: Here is the F-18 grip mapping: /////////////////////////////////////////// //Trigger // MapKey(&JoystickF18,TG1,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,TG2,); //Buttons // MapKey(&JoystickF18,S1,); // Recce Button // MapKey(&JoystickF18,S2,); // Weapon Pickle // MapKey(&JoystickF18,S3,); // Pinky Button // MapKey(&JoystickF18,S4,); // Pinky Lever //VR Rocker |:| // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H3U,); Forward // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H3D,); Aft // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H3P,); Push //Seneor Select Switch :: // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H2U,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H2D,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H2R,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H2L,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H2P,); // SSS Push //Weapon Select Switch = // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H4U,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H4D,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H4R,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H4L,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H4P,); // Push //Trim // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H1U,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H1D,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H1R,); // MapKey(&JoystickF18,H1L,); /////////////////////////////////////////////////
  3. I'm thinking about doing some tests to night where I will use the A/G radar to designate a point on the ground and store it as a mark point. Then fly a bit more, make a new designation on the same point and store as a new mark point until I have a bunch. Then plot the mark points on the map to see what the trend is. Dunno if that would make any sense. We can clearly see that something is off. EDIT: come to think of it, it might not make any sense since drift is affected by maneuvers. EDIT 2: Good news! after fiddling around with the A/G radar for a while i found out that if you actively track a ground object/target with A/G radar you can land WALLEYE, GPS guided munitions ( in 1981, how?) and even dumb bombs if you track the CCRP fall line on run in and forget about the diamond. So A/G radar doesn't seem to be affected by INS drift even though it should output the wrong coordinates to the receiver. Bad news is that you won't actually know which target the radar is tracking if area is tightly packed unless you have a TDP, maverick or walleye.
  4. The PID's are not listed here so hard to tell. https://devicehunt.com/view/type/usb/vendor/044F Have a look through your devices in windows and see if you can find them there. Otherwise if you don't have any problems, then just leave it.
  5. Thanks for looking into this @IvanK . There are a few reports in the bug section that are related to the CCIP fall line. As you noted there are no issues when GPS is available. Bombs will be spot on. It seems that the bomb cross is somehow tied to the ground and not the aircraft it self. It would be nice to get this one sorted.
  6. Hi! The RAID function does not seem to scan the area around the target, but rather RAID is scanning around the elevation of the radar before the target was locked. This happens if you use button or axis, but not if you apply elevation via AZ/EL. Thats why you loose the target if you exit RAID when it's doing a scan and the elevation has changed since STT was made as reported here. RAID axis and button elevation.trk RAID axis elevation.trk RAID az el elevation.trk
  7. AFAIK not yet. Haven't noticed any difference from one RCS setting to the other.
  8. Does anybody know if it should be possible to move the azimuth of the A/G radar left or right when it scans less than 140°. My guess is that is should be possible and that it should track a designation if one is present, but it's just a guess. Cheers
  9. Does anybody have a solution on how to effectively employ the Hornet in A/G without GPS? I find it practically impossible, when flying the blue flag 80's server, to drop bombs. By the time I get to the AOB the INS has drifted so much that the CCIP + is completely off. I have tried to update via TACAN, but still not precise. Tried all kinds of update, but usually just makes matters worse. EDIT: Edited to be more clear.
  10. The new one works great with the 'HLH' option on. I don't fly without the helmet option anymore because all the HF energy in a cockpit just kills my hearing.
  11. What you want is to adjust the viewpoint, not the JHMCS. 1. Turn on JHMCS. 2. Pause trackIr or any tracking (if you have). 3. Press kp5 and kp ENT to reset view. 4. Make adjustments to view with keypad arrows until your HUD and helmet is aligned as you want. 5. Save with R_ALT+ KP 0. This is now your new default viewpoint.
  12. The GUI version of target sucks, but the script editor is excellent!
  13. Something is going on with the az/el page. Sometimes contacts that are seen by the radar is not on the the az/el until locked and sometimes they are...
  14. AFAIK you just deselected a particular mode on the third ( C ) run but did not turn off the autopilot. In that case you should have A/P in the ADV line on the left DDI. Press paddle to fix. EDIT: At 3:26 in your video you can see that A/P is indeed displayed on the ADV line on left DDI.
  15. It does here. Be sure to hold the pickle for a second or so.
  16. Completely agree. I found it a shoulder wrenching experience on the warthog base. I find this to be true. The WH is difficult to use while AAR without an extension. You can add some curves to help but then you just ruin your ability to dogfight. Best thing to do is to use script editor and program different curves for AAR and general flying if you have a WH setup.
  17. Or try a curve of 15 or 20. the F-5 is quite responsive in roll if you have a desktop stick.
  18. Wiggle your toes to relax!
  19. The FM has a good feel and it feels very much like a racecar. Just don't expect to take out F-15's or the like. The nozzle schedule is mostly something you notice when landing.
  20. I experience the same if I do not pull throttles back far enough after using afterburner before entering afterburner again.
