  1. Please post links to online reviews of DCS:A10C here. Here are a few:- http://www.theoldergamers.com/pc/review/dcs-a10c-warthog-review http://www.fz.se/artiklar/spel/20110226/dcs-a-10c-warthog http://multiplayer.it/articoli/85184-dcs-a-10c-warthog-imparare-a-volare.html?piattaforma=pc http://www.gamingshogun.com/Article/8965/DCS__A-10C_Warthog_Review_-_PC.html http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/07/dcs-a-10c-warthog-review/
  2. You can buy the printed map here: http://www.fighter-collection.com/lockonbuy.htm
  3. Target date is July.
  4. I suggest you also look at the Lowland Tiger Meeting details. http://www.lowlandtigermeet.com/ Four days of Dynamic War Games. The briefings are up to Red Flag standards.
  5. Guys and Girls - this thread is wasting bandwith - and my time for checking the forums for real problems to be solved. When the new DCS aircraft is in beta testing, you will be informed.
  6. Great flying, and in particular, great camera work. Professional TV crews could learn a few lessons from this display. If you have not seen repeat - visit http://www.livestream.com/vralive I would like to see the names and background of the pilots (and camerman), to give them credit
  7. See one analysis here:- http://www.fleetairarmoa.org/asp/news.asp?NewsItem=1247&Archived=0
  8. Looking forward to this today
  9. I think many players are getting caught out by this problem/feature of windows.
  10. What about using the eagle wiki?
  11. Yes - and the debate for a low cost COIN aircraft is still very much alive in USAF defense circles! A re-manufacture of a Skyraider with modern avionics/sensors meets all the tick boxes.
  12. If you study the real life tactics of the A10, you can see that they changed depending on the ground to air threat - Iraq 1 & 2, Kosova, Bosnia and Afghanistan. Here is a suggested reading list: Warthog: Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War Smallwood A10s over Kosova Haave & Haan The Warthog and the Close Air Support Debate Campbell Danger Close - Tactical Air Controllers in Afghanistan and Iraq Call Beyond Close Air Support Rand Project Air Force and more info here:- http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1015428&postcount=4 I think the advantage of Flaming Cliffs, Black Shark and A10C is that the user can explore different tactics and discover what works and does not in a simulation environment without having to discover in real life with unfortunate consequences (The RAF Tornado SOP for low level attacks on defended airfields in Iraq 1 springs to mind - It was clear from simulation in TheBattleSim what would happen). Fortunately, there is no real life experience (apart from Red Flag exercises) of operating in contested air space and against heavy ground defences. However in the simulations, one can see what strategies/tactics would work (I accept the point that this would only be "broad-brush", as the simulation can only approximate the actual performance of radar, weapons etc).
  13. In game mode use key D to cycle through weapons
  14. Yes - Amazon will be stocking
  15. Excellent
  16. There will be retail versions in the following languages - English, German, French, Spanish and Italian (English Software). They should be available in North America, Europe, Middle East and AsiaPac. I can not give exact dates as it depends on finalisation of translations and manufacturing schedules, but expect spread over April to July period
  17. HEAT - very good mix of JTAC radio comms from an actual mission in theatre.
  18. Excellent co-op
  19. The only base of A10Cs is in Germany. In 2009 two were shown in a static display at RIAT Fairford. You might like to check RIAT 2011 to see if they will be present. I talked to the pilots and they were very complimentary about their training on our DTS:A10c!
  20. There are some excellent reference books about CAS, JTACs and the Warthog. I can recommend:- The Warthog and the Close Air Support debate - Douglas N Campbell Beyond Close Air Support - RAND Danger Close Tactical Air Controllers in Afghanistan and Iraq - Steve Call
  21. Your friend is absolutely correct. You can not learn to fly on a flight sim. But if you are transferring from say Tornado to Typhoon, the quickest and most effective way to learn the new switchology of MFDs, avionics, weapons etc, is with a simulator, which now can operate on a PC. That is why A10A pilots use DTS:A10C to upgrade to the A10C. Before that it was sitting in the actual cockpit on the ground, with power on, and going through the written checklists until you learnt them by heart. That cost money!
  22. For those interested in 2ndWW aircraft, and for those on the forum visiting Flying Legends airshow this year, the following may be of interest:- http://friends-of-tfc.blogspot.com/ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=129902440363026&v=wall&viewas=0 http://fighter-collection.com/pages.php
  23. Subject to final contract - it is hoped DSC:A10C will be available on STEAM
  24. You might like to look at training vids here: http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/index.html
  25. I will post when they are available. We have to:- Finalise manual Send to printer Ship to warehouse
