DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
BaD CrC replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Will try that ASAP Artur. Thanks for the great work. -
Russian helicopters don't like imperial units. That's why. :P

Ahah! Then what about another 'How about the AH-64' thread? Better? :megalol:
-
Hopefully AFTER the Ka50.

Gazelle ...what is needed to get the auto hover kicking in!?
BaD CrC replied to Frag's topic in Polychop-Simulations
+1000 for DOP mode of the HSI. As soon as the needles start to center, hit the hover button mapped on your HOTAS (assuming your VSI is close to 0) -
I would highly recommend watching this to understand the concepts for flying choppers (IRL or DCS): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCG13vqdYSapylJU53JD8yEQ Huey is a good chopper for beginner. Perfect to apply what you learn on chopper aerodynamics. Then you will feel furstrated by its limited firepower and speed. Time to move to Mi8, then Ka50 and eventually Gazelle. @Frag, for hovering, I highly recommend using the last mod of the HSI. When the 2 HSI bars are about centered, it's time to hit the stationary button. Got her into hover almost all the time now.

Helios 1.4 - Taking to the Skys Once Again
BaD CrC replied to BluFinBima's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow! This is a major good news. I am using Helios and Capt Zeen's profiles on a daily basis and I was dreading the day when DCS will not be compatible anymore. Hey Capt, you talking helicopter profiles updates is sweet music to my ears! -
Does this mean we can refuel/rearm on these platforms?

Nothing to do with Jealousy but as swatstar98 highlighted it, this FM question has been a heated topic that ended up with the dev almost deserting the thread as it was becoming really hostile. Hence the mistrust. I have been trough tons of posts from people claiming to fly choppers in real life, and even if it was true sometimes, the comparison of their experience with what the Gazelle can do was often just plain ridiculous (like, "I have 10 hours on R22 so I know for a fact that choppers can't do this or that"). The other thing I realized is that real experienced pilots are struggling big time with what can and can't be done in today's computer. So they are either too complaisant with a software or just too demanding for things that just can't be simulated yet. Finally, the gazelle and many/all DCS modules can truly be appreciated with proper/expensive controls. So if you are flying the gazelle with a gamepad (I hope not) or even a simple joystick, this might alter your point of view. Now I am not saying that the gazelle is flawless, I never flew a Gazelle either and I am one of those guys with barely 50 hours of stick time on a R22. Needless to day my opinion doesn't count that much about how good the FM is.
-
Damcopter, the simple fact that there is no Gazelle in the French Air Force (only the Armée de Terre flies her) is making your statement pretty suspect.
-
The map still looks readable to me with the 2 systems.
-
We got a demo last night from one of our pilot who really master the Gazelle and shared his knowledge during our Tuesday's trainings. I can tell you that everybody's mind (including mine) was blown out despite the fact that we spent many hours flying her before, it turned out that we were just scratching the surface. This thing is deadly. Second after the Ka50. I personally never used the autopilot functions and the trimmer with this aircraft, and proper explanation changed everything. At the end of the session, we were all big fans of this chopper.

[RESOLVED]2.5 Open Beta KA-50 DataLink not working
BaD CrC replied to PapaTango's topic in Bugs and Problems
Make a point? What do you mean? -
Thanks Home Fries!

Hi hrnet940 and welcome to DCS. Yes, I think a lot of people here are coming from the FSX world at some point. There are many ways to export and synchronize physical switches and rotactors with DCS. You should go to the Home Cockpit thread, there are hundreds of cockpit builders there that can help you.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
BaD CrC replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Ron, yes, let me be more specific about this sync. If you are jumping in a hot aircraft and your physical switches are not in the right position, nothing will happen. But then, depending on how you define your profile in DCSFP, the moment you flip one of your physical switch, the behavior will be different. Here is how. Let's take an example with the anti collision switch in game. In a hot aircraft, it is already turned on. - If using the keyboard emulator in your DCSFP, flipping the physical switch up (ON) will turn your anti collision OFF in game because the command to switch it on and off is the same. From this moment, your physical switch will never match the position of your virtual one. - If using DCS BIOS in your DCSFP Profile, flipping the physical switch up (ON) will do nothing because DCS BIOS will see that your virtual switch is already ON. Flipping your physical switch OFF will then properly switch your virtual switch off too. So you'll be in sync. -
Arghh! This is sooooo cool man! Are you providing it to viper too to have it integrated into cf?
-
Pretty sure Viper will get in touch super quickly to add this to CF. It is awesome.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS
BaD CrC replied to a topic in DCS Modding
Use DCS BIOS as often as you can because your switches will be synchronised with the ones in game. But sometimes, the command you want to generate does not exist in the DCS BIOS commands list. So you have to revert to key emulator. But then you are loosing this sync feature which is kinda of a big deal for me. No, you have to open the right profile on DCSFP to fly a given aircraft. No automatic load or alt tab possible. -
Incredible work Seth0s. Thanks. Hey, I don't have any skin request (I think you have enough), but if you are working on them, my wish is really that you prioritize skins that are likely to be seen at the available DCS maps. Some requests look a bit unrealistic with airlines that will never be seen anywhere close to UEA, Caucasus or Nevada. my 2 cents.
-
Hi Kalon, I don't know IVC but yes, SR enable VoIP through the aircraft radios. Channels and frequencies can be directly changed with the avionics in game
-
The server does not need to have the skins installed. Only the clients. Now if the people you are flying with do not have the skins you are using on their computer, they won't see the said skins but rather a default one chosen by the game. So for everyone to fly and see the same skins, all of the clients must have those skins installed.

Looking for flying partner / team (To learn & play MP)
BaD CrC replied to Wexler's topic in Multiplayer
We are doing helicopters only at BSD. But our missions and trainings are taking place in US East Coast so time difference is likely to be a problem for you. -
Hi Flappie. Well, CF 1.0.0 is a release version, but I understood Viper's intention is to make it more like an Open beta so he can get more feedback than what we were able to provide during the closed one. For larger zoom levels, there is always the possibility to switch to Bing maps within CF. It is not ideal but at least there is this possibility. Honestly, I can't wait to have your full scale Caucasus map in CF so we can zoom in enough to see this village and the bridge over this small river nearby so we can accurately prepare our chopper missions. This will be totally awesome.

Hawkeye, I got some strange textures for the V22 cockpit static (see screenshots). Also, OT but your black panther for Animal 1.5 is not completely black for me (see other ss). Ah, yes, no matter what skin I select for the v22 (black, green,...), it shows always the same one (black I think) Can you help? Thanks.
