  1. unbeknown to me yesterday, there was an update. i had no issues like usual. the updater also updated itself during the initial process. it is now 2.17.3.11. you can check the properties of the updater in DCS install folder. put in a ticket to ED at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ then pick support, user support from top menu.
  2. good work. so it seems the issue is VR. questions. is there a way to test the headset on another game? here is where temp folder is. %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS just paste that into URL in file explorer
  3. i do not see it mentioned to test your hardware. i suggest to strip as much external hardware from your rig as possible to see if a component is causing the issue. reattach them one by one to see if the issue comes back. if you cannot get through a mission without a crash, then it is something deeper. if so, test memory. i always suggest taking out the dimms and reseat them. maybe they are just a little loose now. also move them to opposite slots. and take half of them out. see if a specific dimm is bad. another idea is to run chkdsk. lastly remove any overclocking from ram and gfx. even factory overclock. if windows is 'killing' the dcs process, there is likely a hardware issue. oh and this was an issue with some other users. check your power supply. even to the point of plugging directly to wall socket. @Flappie and @MAXsenna will remember this fun one. keep at it. we will figure this out.
  4. you are a volunteer to add your own exceptions. thank you for your service /s
  5. officially it is the other way around. ST is what is being deprecated. currently the DCS.exe in both folders are the same. look in the same folder you got the DCS.LOG from and grab the latest zip file. it will be named similar to dcs.log-20241001-214432.zip. it will be named with a date code.
  6. hello. i just cloned my 2 TB nvme to a 4 TB nvme. purchased an NVME SSD Reader Adapter, a 4 TB nvme, and used free macrium to clone from 2 TB drive to the reader. took under an hour to do the copy. turned off computer, and replaced the nvme. windows never knew the difference. example gear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084ZKLQR8 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHGT1KFJ https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree#backup-and-recovery-software-for-home-pcs about $350
  7. most definitely it matters. as far as the P-47 it is two alphanumeric and then one alphanumeric. reading from left to right. now a problem is some early P-47s had numbers only.
  8. hello. unfortunately no good answer. there are hundreds of posts exclaiming the same or similar issues. https://forum.dcs.world/search/?q=replay &quick=1&type=forums_topic&nodes=1196
  9. preload radius is in DCS options within game or changing it in the launcher. null
  10. another thing you do not want to hear is "oops, that wasn't supposed to happen"
  11. i was not trying to be mean or anything. users hopping on a topic and to say "me too" without any other empirical info is not exactly helpful to those of us trying to help. i personally go for the low reply numbers in threads. also if there is actually a solution to an OP, then they can say they fixed their issue by doing this. mark it solved. this helps by having a green solved checkbox. i understand and like i said, i am not try to be impolite. your issue may be totally different. without the appropriate logs that tell us more information. and more information, the better.
  12. hello, you replied to a nearly four year old post. you should start a new thread and post all your relevant logs.
  13. that's cool rudel! bueno.
  14. most definitely the board numbers are important for keeping track of your wingman or wingman keeping track of their lead. the reason for letters + numbers is there are more variations with letters + numbers as opposed to just numbers. for example you would have 36 variations rather than just 10 variations for each digit.
  15. the other choice is cloning C to a new drive. i just personally went through this. i had a 2 TB nvme that was nearly full. i purchased a new 4 TB nvme, a cloning software, and a drive cradle. i connected the drive and cradle via USB C to the computer. it took about 45 minutes to clone. then replaced the original drive inside the computer with the cloned drive. computer booted without issue. if you have the means, it's another option.
  16. only way i know how is likely what instructions you have found. sorry. is DCS on C? how much space left? also what is space left on D? you can also move the entire DCS install folder to another drive if there is space. now back to a symbolic link. someone did a doc for it especially for DCS. https://forum.dcs.world/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=232380&key=08ba65db6bc435f2b85d397e67228f47
  17. P-47D had letters instead of numbers for the side for some instances. i shared a relic from the USAF museum. this instance was LHE. null
  18. flights 3 and 5 are always cutting up.
  19. maybe you could delete the shader folders in saved games? may help.
  20. its up to ED if they use the latest DLSS. they will have to do testing on the change.
  21. if you have another SSD, why not just put the maps on that drive and do symbolic links?
  22. this has already been reported and been this way a while. i am not sure of a workaround except using a "kentucky windage" approach OR, another suggestion is to, lase the target for accurate distance. i personally use KY-W. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/365599-ccip-inaccurancy-on/
  23. not answering for ED BUT keep track of the change logs. ED devs are obviously busy with, what they think are, more pressing issues. this is not meant to degrade what is important to you. i have only seen trains mentioned a few time in these forums. there is probably not much of the user base that cares about trains. i can definitely see where it would matter in WW2 scenarios.
