  1. When identifying the first group of vehicles (3 trucks on a road leading to fields in the compund before road turns south or something) my F10 menu disappeared, i think it happened when other flight found a scud, not sure. Anyway, see picture - i'm stuck, i can't tell them i see the trucks.
  2. Things i miss the most: - Undo - Select multiple units and/or waypoints just by clicking and dragging over an area. - Allow moving all selected units/waypoints by dragging instead of only 1 at a time - Add "unit hit by weapon X" trigger, weapon in zone trigger is too slow and misses any fast moving weapons. - Give mission designer some "cheat" commands to use, like force AI planes speed, give infinite fuel or trigger command to restore full fuel etc. these would help a lot when working around some AI issues. - Allow mission designer to simulate or "force lase" a target with either a trigger ( On Activation unit X start lasing target Y with laser code Z) or alternatively add invisible static object that acts as a laser designated spot - Add more aircraft hangars as editor placeable objects - Let mission designer set the amount of HP objects/units have and if they are hardened and need penetrator warheads to damage I'm used to ofp/arma mission editor where all of this works like a charm and its a bit frustrating trying to make workarounds in DCS editor.
  3. Sligthtly hard to tell from a screenshot, but the north side runway side marker is floating in the air. From some angles you can see "under it", but from that angle the marking will disappear completely.
  4. This so much. Why, just why would you do this. Cockpit scripts are absolutely neccessary. IC the specific files that allow cheating, not all of them because we need to edit some of them!
  5. I think ArmA is great comparison. DCS and ArmA are the leading simulations in their own area (Flying for DCS, Infantry combat for Arma). Surely ArmA is not superb in everything, just like DCS, however given some mods it is by far the best combined arms infantry sim out there. Many armed forces use it for training. And just like DCS it does not do well outside its main focus, flying planes in ArmA is like driving cars in DCS. Game engines in both titles have evolved so much over time theres barely anything original left now, yet in a way it is still the same old engine (sort of..). Arma and warzone/fortnite could not be further apart. They have as much in common as ace combat and DCS. Warzone and fortnite have totally different target audience, Arma is a sim. However i think there are many much more important improvements to be made before this should get any priority. Only potential i see for first person contol would be for immersion, walking from supercarrier briefing room to the deck and climbing to the cockpit for example or to perform a walk around before flight - i think this would offer more than a very simplified infantry combat extension to CA. Maybe after the AI and performance issues have been fixed?
  6. Where to get the roughtmet template? Official template doesnt include it?
  7. You are correct, main 2 template has different color profile making it near impossible to match it to other parts seamlessly. My photoshop managed the conversion OK i think, no washing away like in your pic. Heres the file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d7SrV3-a6ejZabQcDXvJniU-szUuKFIe/view?usp=sharing Anyone know if it is possible to reskin the HTS pod? Template anyone?
  8. No i don't think it is possible to get 90 fps in VR with any kind of hardware right now even if you had the best computer in the world unless you either use motion reprojection or reduce render resolution significantly, both options really ruin the experience for me so i just got used to my 40 fps.
  9. I would absolutely love this given how big of a mess the AI air-to-air refueling and fuel usage in flight is at the moment.
  10. Recommend quality office chair instead of "gamer" chair, your back will thank you. Herman Miller for example. Gaming chairs are usually chinese low quality gimmicks aimed at people who will buy just about anything that has "gamer" branding or RGB lights on it. If you absolutely want to get the gaming chair look (not sure why people need recaro seats to not fall off when sitting on a computer, maybe add some racing harness to be safe) i would only recommend Secretlab.
  11. Wow, the solution was too simple to notice, lol. Was thinking this way too complicated, thanks!
  12. If you want it to last atleast 5 years or more you kind of do highend-ish setup now. I'd say you need atleast around 2500-3000 pounds budget. Component shortage seems to have gotten easier, now most shops have plenty of parts. As a basic guideline you might want to look at RTX 3070 or 3080 12gb versions depending on your budget, for a CPU something along Intel i7-11700 or 12700 or similiar AMD processors. Throw in 32 gb ram, case, motherboard with correct socket, a case, monitor (highly recommend big 4k screen for DCS if you dont want to go VR), trackir or similiar is a must, hotas (Virpil, VKB great examples). I would estimate you just might be able to get on with DCS for 5 years with these, if you don't do VR. But getting it all under 3k will be tight.
  13. Can anyone help me with this. I have a single tanker in my mission with a race track orbit waypoint. I would like to use F10 menu commands to make this tanker change speed and altitude. I could make more waypoints and use a waypoint switch trigger, but this is very messy and causes the tanker to go back to the beginning of the race track orbit point every time it changes. Is there some script command for example to change the speed/alt?
  14. This still marked as missing info, track in the post above, do i need to post something additional?
  15. I've also noticed that i have to pull back on the stick quite hard just before catching a wire or i'll get a bolter because of the pitching down effect i'm getting near the deck. Didn't have this before burble. No guarantees i'm doing it right, just an observation.
  16. Same problem for me, 3080TI & Intel i7 10700 using OXR without motion reprojection. Sometimes out of nowhere my FPS tanks from capped 45 to 12 for no observable reason. Some times it goes back after a while if i just keep flying, usually it fixes when i go out of focus and back again (click outside VR window or alt tab).
  17. Nope, nothing like that. Managed to reproduce this few times. For this bug to happen it would seem to require the AI to have a long landing and end up quite far on the deck, this bug happened more often when i made the AI plane overweight for landing and/or put in some wind conditions not suitable for landing and did it over and over again until he got wire #3 or #4 and ended up in the positions shown in these pics, both times he taxied over water afterwards. Not sure if it was just luck, but i never managed to reproduce this bug on an empty deck, when it happens there was always another plane on the deck taking off or waiting to get on the cat. Maybe a pathfinding problem on specific part of the deck? Suggest prevent AI having long landings (force jettison or fuel dump before landing?) or find out what the pathfinding issue is. Track attached. I also ran into another bug when troubleshooting this. When AI had a long landing like this but decided to turn right instead of taxiing over water and there was a plane on CAT2 ready to take off, he would turn right and just ram into the plane on the CAT damaging both planes. carrier bug 3.trk
  18. Didn't get a track because it was hours in to the mission, but AI hornet landed on supercarrier and taxied over water. Didn't fall, it just hovered over the water and taxied back on to the deck. Couldn't reproduce yet, will update if i get to reliably happen.
  19. Yesterday i had the same issue too, launched cat 2 and orbited at waypoint 1 for around 30 minutes, went to check what Blade is doing, he is in the good old high AOE full afterburner loop at 40 000ft heading east over land 100 miles away from wp1. Took control of thes plane and flew it myself to wp1 but not surprisingly that propably broke all the triggers and mission didnt advance. Tried again, did nothing different and it worked fine. Blade went to wp1 like he was supposed to. Man i really love this DCS AI. i have a suggestion until the AI is fixed - make a trigger that warns player to restart the mission because "something went wrong with the AI" if either an essential AI plane goes too far where it is not supposed to go, something happens to him or he just isn't where he is supposed to be for long enough time to conclude it is impossible to complete the mission. Alternatively just show a warning that the AI plane is doing something odd and allow player to continue the mission anyway and pretend that plane is there (unless he has an actual task he absolutely needs to do for the mission to work). This mission for example player could complete just fine alone, let the radio messages play and pretend Blade is there. I think this would be much better plan B than to waste multiple startups just for it to possibly fail again.
  20. While it would be awesome to have different versions of the hornet, some of them differ in so many ways (Spanish and Finnish hornets come to mind) compared to the currently modeled one that i don't think its happening. ED has been very specific about the module the make. Its not only a specific block hornet as operated by specific air force but also exactly specific year of that hornet, so bringing features from a very different model hornet doesn't seem likely.
  21. At the moment GPU upgrades only get you so far. DCS seems to be very, very pipeline bottlenecked like XP11 was before vulkan. I have 3080ti and same medium settings that give me 140-200 fps on a flat screen at 4K res give me 30 fps in vr, busy supercarrier deck for example. GPU usage is at like 60% and CPU at 20%. Looking at a clear sky i can get about 55 in VR and even that is not enough to make VR feel smooth. So no matter what you upgrade to you will have disappointing performance unless you do something like 50% render scale and all settings at minimum.
  22. Also really really enjoying this. DCS should come with this type of campaigns by default, very immersive and after playing raven one campaigns it feel very dull and boring to fly anything else. I guess i'll fly both of these again while waiting for F16 campaign.
  23. This issue has been around since forever. I hate it too, using external views is really really annoying the way it is and inverting the whole control is not an option because then everything else is also inverted. There really should be a checkbox option to invert mouse axis in external views, i would guess something like that shouldn't be too hard to program. Or alternatively just add new commands for external views then we can just swap the axis there and keep cockpit stuff as it is.
  24. I'm also torn about this. On one had i absolutely love the graphics and smoothness off 2D. Can pretty much max it out @ 4k and get solid 60 fps with amazing details. With VR i absolutely have to use motion smoothing, crawling at 40 fps kills the immersion and makes me horribly sea sick, looking at the ground when flying low everything appears in 2. With motion smoothing its nice and smooth but with it VR looks like absolute garbage, can barely read displays or hud and even then you have to look right at it. But the immersion is just way too good to give up.
  25. Any real difference using NIS vs FSR? (I have 3080ti). After many days if fiddling with settings my biggest success was to limit FPS to whatever i can maintain reliably with the minimum graphics i can enjoy - having stable 50 fps makes me much less motion sick than having my framerate constantly go up and down from 60 to 80 for example, all those jumps in framerates make left and right eye images go "out of sync" and cause nausea for me. Is it possible to use FXAA instead of MSAA? MSAA off cause lots of shimmering especially when using FSR but MSAA 2x costs huge performance hit.
