“ЦEНТР ЗОНЫ СТРОБ.” including the period. -

The text on the stick is labeling the manual cursor slew button. The label on the throttle marks the ENTER button. In the sim and real life, it’s the target lock button. In the real world it is also used to manually enter range information for aerial targets and to enter the anticipated aim mark against ground targets, when using the OEPS. -

Excellent. Thank you! -

FWIW, since in this image there’s a button identified as “lock on ?”, I’ve seen that labeled as the laser control button. -

Yes, “discard”. EDIT: сбросить: among other meanings, “throw down, drop”. So it probably is for countermeasures. -

You might not want to write "Countermeasures" just yet. I've seen it labeled that elsewhere which is why I posted what I did. But "сброс" actually means "reset". -

The bottom button is countermeasures. The switch above it is the airbrake. Pulling back extends. Punching forward retracts. -
Since the pod is merely amplifying exiting light, has the moon risen in the mission? Without moon light, you won’t be seeing much of anything.

Thanks for checking. I’ll make a report soon, then. As for the ILSN directing the player into the ground, I don’t know. Haven’t been in the F-15 cockpit since this thread. If no one else checks, I’ll try to do so soon.

Excellent. I should get around to posting a bug report for the Flanker's ASC Landing Mode. It's been around for years. Or is it something they're aware of?

There's no struggle in the FC3 MiG-29. And you don't need to wait for the FF version. My flying is rusty but I'm not going to spend more time on this either because it was damned close as was. TRK attached as well. MiG-29 Power vs Video Test.trk

Duh! Talk about overlooking the obvious.

Sorry. My error. I use the Windows power shell to start the updater and I thought that starting the updater from the Desktop would work the same way. But it doesn’t. Unlike using the power shell, starting it from the desktop will also start the sim. If you want to try the power shell approach, use file explorer to navigate to the “bin” folder in your DCS installation. Highlight it. Hold down the SHIFT key while right clicking on the folder. In the context menu that opens, select “Open PowerShell window here”. In the window that opens, type: CMD The cursor will drop to a new line. Type: DCS_updater update Done. If there’s an update, it’ll update. If there isn’t, it’ll tell you that you’re up to date. In neither case, will the sim start.
-
There should be a large one in Vidsel, Sweden. But I'm still many hours away from the map finishing its download. So I don't know if it's on the map yet.
-
The easiest way to handle it is to link the updater itself directly from your Desktop. That way you only start the updater and not the sim.
-
I’m jealous. It’ll be Monday, at best, before I have it downloaded.
-
Thanks. After posting, I realized that there might be an update for it. Was just coming back to delete my post. The update is downloading now. Thanks again.

So I purchased the map thru DCS. Normally I go into the module manager and my purchase is there ready for installation. But, with this map. it's not. So how do I install it?
-
I guess you could call it that but, with the pitch angle he started from (due to climbing), the nose only pitched up an additional 45-50 degrees or so.

Ahhh... I see. Well, hopefully your concerns will come to naught. And thank you for taking the time to compliment this "has been". -

Orbix does excellent work for other flight sims. There’s no reason to believe this will end up being any different. The early access release will have definite limitations, however. The map will be improved over time. So this map’s early access may not be for you. Figure another year, maybe more, before it’s complete. -

I always wondered why they wanted to split the community in two with MAC. Maybe they changed their minds. MAC was going to be its own world with its own bells and whistles separate from DCS with FC3 remaining part of DCS for access to the Flankers, F-15C, etc. OTOH, now that there’s the F-15E and a FF MiG-29 in the pipeline, there may be no need for an “enhanced” version of FC3 (MAC) and the community split will happen upon the FF M-29A’s arrival. Certainly saves on the ma hours involved. -
@Skyhammer Finally home and took a look at two of your Su-27 tracks (Flanker not even 9 G turn.trk and Flanker 56% fuel still 7.6 G max.trk). The issue in both was airspeed. Yours was too low for the altitude. At 2000m, you need to be up around 900 km/hr to generate enough Gs to even hit the limiter. I took control of your Flanker 56% fuel still 7.6 G max.trk and sat on 8Gs for awhile just to show that the limiter is there and will limit you to 8Gs at that gross weight. And, just for clarity, I did not use the override at any point. Ironhand-Skyhammer-Flanker 56% fuel 8G Limiter-No Override.trk

None that I’ve noticed. “H” was the original key command and never removed. Then again, I seldom use the AP, so I could be wrong.
-
You’re allowed to pull 9Gs in real life according to the manual, just not with a lot of fuel on board. GW needs to be something like 17,100 kg or less.
