Thanks for the opportunity to fly such an aircraft in a combat environment. Never have but I sure will!
-
Before I got my rudder pedals with toe breaks, I used a slider (axis) on my HOTAS for breaking. Didn't like breaking with keys.

...and if the contact were a contact.

There is an known issue with most/(all?) aircraft landing on ships and crashing DCS.

Eurofighter Typhoon: Pictures and Videos
Tom Kazansky replied to Etirion's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
That's from the wide angled camera that captures the scene. especially in those right banking turns. Picture this: Pilot's view 12 o'clock sees the horizon, 3 o'clock high sees the horizon and 6 o'clock sees the horizon. The cameras FOV sees almost the whole horizon line at the same time/picture. what else than a massive curve should be the outcome? -
AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod Discussion
Tom Kazansky replied to Kayos's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Maybe the Litening could be adjusted to its real quality in steps, so the pain is reduced a bit. If the display quality difference between current Litening and Sniper does not change, there will be those discussions for decades. -
AN/AAQ-33 Advanced Targeting Pod Discussion

Litening = game Sniper = simulation ? -
Really? Most of the time I don't update DCS in the first days after a patch is released and I never ever had a problem to launch DCS without an update.

For comparison, do you have an IR (WHOT) screenshot of a similar building 44 nm away with the Lightning pod? -
I rate this topic 5 stars

Thanks for clearing things up and refreshing my memory.

I remember the days I had played DCS in 2D and I had to press numpad 5 each time I started a mission to get rid of the initial zoomed out view. Later I learned to adjust the view like @MAXsenna described above but I still had to press numpad 5 to get to this saved view from the initial zoomed out view at mission start. Don't know if this is still relevant. edit: IIRC there is an additional keybind that resets the zoom in DCS. I can't remember whether I had to press that once, too. Just give it a try. (I will when I'm back at my PC)

Damage of one slat (left or right) that is not retractable anymore?

[just on my side - disregard plz] DCS website down?!
Tom Kazansky replied to Tom Kazansky's topic in Forum and Site Issues
Router restart fixed it. Thank you. -
That's news to me. didn't know I can bind keys that way. sounds very handy. will try that, thanks!
-
Since ED introduced bindings for their comms menu up/down/back/select/... I find it very simple and less immersion breaking to navigate through the menu(s). I just have a modifier and the 4-way comms button on my hotas to do this. I don't say it is better or worse than the big HB-style wheel, but you already don't have to fiddle with F-keys anymore in VR.

Is this screenshot taken from DCS or F.BMS? I won't post a link but if yo search for BMS 4.38 Trailer at YT and go to 2:20, there it is.

Thanks for the input that led me to a test on my PC. And it works, but not on my smart phone. So it's on my side. Thanks! edit: no VPN's -
I Like that cockpit. Some scratches and wear but very nice readable white labels. Not too new, and not too old. Still a matter of taste of course.

Thanks for those hints
