  1. I can't seem to get vrperfkit and Reshade 5.0 to work together. Both fine on there own, but if vrperfkit is enabled, In the Reshade setup exe I get a message "dxgi.d11 already exists but does not belong to reshade"
  2. See post 7 page 1 of this thread from SOH and expand the text. Clear instructions you may not have seen. Edit- this thread Reshade 5.0 gets native support for VR - Page 2 - Virtual Reality - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
  3. The comms menu is a pain in the neck this way as it switches to a separate cursor. You also need to re centre it every time you use the mouse. The suggestion to disable/enable the "use mouse" function in the VR settings via a mappable button click would be really useful I think.
  4. I was getting this. Fixed it by clearing the environment data. There is also an option in Windows MR settings to turn off "fade to grey when positional tracking is lost"
  5. I should add another high quality modification I have been forced to produce. This one is a fix for when the head strap eye on the HMD snaps, which I'm sure it will eventually. My G2 looking more Mad Max than Mark Zuckerberg now, but that's no bad thing.
  6. My eyes are not as sharp as they were and I've been struggling to read stuff on the hud and in the pit recently, so I thought some prescription lenses for my Reverb G2 were in order. Two minutes Googling later and with more pressing uses for the £100.00 demanded I decided a bit bit of beard stroking was needed until a picture appeared in my head. Encouraged by this apparition I went rummaging through a sawdust filled drawer in the shed, and as is often the case in such drawers, two of the mankiest old woodscrews you've ever seen were to be found. Four small holes and a bit of hacksawing on some cheap low mag Aldi readers later and behold... I'm actually chuffed to bits with them in operation. They don't touch the lenses or hurt my face, FOV seems unaffected and the clarity is just what I was looking for, so it's a win. If you decide to follow suit and give this a try, be aware that your face is highly likely to be different from mine, so it might prove uncomfortable for some. Worst case scenario is two small holes in your (original G2 gasket) and a pair of readers that require both hands to use effectively.
  7. My render scale is 0.77. Just tried Steam SS at 100, 130 and 150 and yes, the image seems to be the same, so the question is what is the max Steam SS we should use before it becomes wasteful? Have just tried adding the ReShade also. Agreed, the sharpening is a much higher quality.
  8. I was also fairly unimpressed with the results of FSR until I bumped the Steam SS up from 90 to 130 on my Reverb. Running FSR and Simplex 2.1 combined is giving some really nice results for me now in clarity and performance.
  9. I don't have a landline. My connection is via a 4G BT Homehub 9033 router. There is no access as far as I know to any port forwarding/settings menu and I cannot be seen whenever I try and host. Is it even possible to host DCS on 4G?
  10. Is there a DCS performance hit if I under volt?
  11. Thanks for replies and video link. Have to say I'm not at all thrilled at the thought of stripping down my 3090.
  12. I bought an RTX 3090 Founders Edition last December from Scan computers UK. I have noticed the cooling fans have been running rather loud even though the GPU temps generally sit around 60 degrees while playing DCS. An internet search revealed many with the same issue and pointed towards the VRAM being the issue and a replacement of thermal pads, requiring some card disassembly to be a potential cure. I downloaded HW monitor and ran it while playing DCS. The memory temp quickly rose to 102-104 degrees, which is as I understand it, above the recommended temp limit. I opened an online chat with an NVIDIA employee yesterday and was told that temps around 100 degrees for the memory was normal, however this is the first card I have owned which has spun up its fans so readily. Makes me a bit uneasy considering the current state of affairs with GPU's. Can anyone with knowledge confirm that this behaviour is indeed normal and not damaging the card?
  13. I used to obsess over the limitations in VR until I joined a squadron. Training and missions are strict on RAF tactics, comms and procedures which are reviewed as a group via Tacview in the de-brief, so mistakes can be discussed and performance improved upon. Consequently you're usually using every brain cell you possess on a sortie, from check in to landing. You just don't have the capacity to notice the little VR niggles.
  14. Did you manage to sort this with the Mosquito? I'm getting no output at all.
  15. Anything less than 100% FOV distorts the image terribly for me, so I'm a little confused at this myself.
  16. My log file throws up errors. Any ideas? Initializing hooks... 17. Mixed Reality settings (bottom left of Portal window)/Headset display/Input switching......Change to Manually switch using Windows logo. I should add that In FPS VR the spikes were evenly spaced and consistent with the sensor activated/HMD on my head.
  18. Which HMD? Long shot, but I have recently experienced huge regular CPU spikes/lag which I eventually narrowed down to the input sensor on my G2. The spikes only started when the HMD was on my head and returned to normal with it off. I changed my Mixed reality input settings to manual and it's now fine.
  19. Have tried running as admin. Any chance you could check your firmware to see if it matches my 1.9.36? It's in Device Manager/Mixed Reality Devices/right click/properties/firmware EDIT- I just realised the download installs the exe on the hard drive to then be run from there. Should be sorted now, Cheers
  20. I did run that exe yes. Although not convinced it installed properly as there was no confirmation that it installed. Tried it twice. Just tried it again. The install bar does not seem to complete and the window disappears. Is this normal? Device manager lists my current firmware as 1.9.36 I also have this in the events category of the headset properties, Device USB\VID_045E&PID_0659&MI_04\7&339b820c&0&0004 requires further installation.
  21. I have used the USB-C since December with my G2 with no issues. Lately however the headset tracking started to drift to outside the cockpit then reset itself. Lighting had not changed, so I got the adapter out the box and tried connecting with USB 3 which totally fixed the tracking issues but introduced random audio output switching. I'm currently going through ports to see what works. So far so good with a different USB 3.
  22. Yeah ok, fair one.
  23. Which is what I would have thought and initially dismissed the idea. However, my eyes and the frametimes say different. I'm now seeing 90fps more often than not on the same settings I had and the image still looks as sharp to me.
  24. G2/3090 here. Having read consistent good reports, I just tried the PD at 0.5 /SS 250% (for G2) just to see what all the fuss was about. I'm seeing some very positive gains on my system with MSAAx2 Shadows low. Give it a try, it's a five minute test.
  25. Boss of the squadron I'm in is a retired RAF group captain, fast jets. He's been using a monitor/TrackIR/Helios setup for a few years. Recently helped him setup his first VR rig, a G2. He is totally blown away with the realism of it and says he couldn't go back to a flat screen.
