  1. Yeah ok, fair one.
  2. Which is what I would have thought and initially dismissed the idea. However, my eyes and the frametimes say different. I'm now seeing 90fps more often than not on the same settings I had and the image still looks as sharp to me.
  3. G2/3090 here. Having read consistent good reports, I just tried the PD at 0.5 /SS 250% (for G2) just to see what all the fuss was about. I'm seeing some very positive gains on my system with MSAAx2 Shadows low. Give it a try, it's a five minute test.
  4. Boss of the squadron I'm in is a retired RAF group captain, fast jets. He's been using a monitor/TrackIR/Helios setup for a few years. Recently helped him setup his first VR rig, a G2. He is totally blown away with the realism of it and says he couldn't go back to a flat screen.
  5. Same here. No major issues with the current build on my G2.
  6. I experienced thr exact opposite. The G1 pulled my eyes out of line immediately without tool correction. I did the same adjustments on the G2 but removed again as it wasn't needed. No problems since. I'm guessing this is down to the quality of the initial manufacturer calibration.
  7. I was getting similar issues with icons disappearing. This registry entry fixed it for me. Use a wmr headset? Give this a try - Virtual Reality - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
  8. I don't see the problem. LSHFT-F4 to look back, F1 to return to forward facing.
  9. I'll give that a go for sure. My neck can't take too much dogfighting. Will report back. Yup, works a treat in the Mustang with OVGME. I'll now have to delve into the Hornet and see if I can replicate. Thanks for your efforts.....
  10. In answer to your question-not quite and definitely not in a Rift, but with a G2 and a 3090 and with a bit of knowledge of how to set things up, it is getting very close to what you're seeing here in my experience.
  11. I would add vastly improved tracking to this. My chair is in a dimly lit corner with a wall next to it. If I look on the wall side to check six in the G1 or look down at the console, the tracking shifts drastically. This drove me absolutely nuts. The G2 so far has been absolutely spot on, so was worth the upgrade to me for this alone. Also the 3090 I bought compliments the headset perfectly and is a great match in DCS for the resolution of these headsets.
  12. I just wasn't sure whether the exe changed settings or opened a settings menu. Just run it. Exactly what I need. Thanks.
  13. EDIT: Sorry, yes, I can. You can do it by running the exe file which is X:\xxxxx\Steam Libray\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\OpenVRSettingsUX.exe Can anyone elaborate on the above from Imacken. Will this exe enable reprojection for the G2 without editing the cfg file?
  14. I'm seeing this with mine as Steam VR motion smoothing settings do effect DCS, however I assume it has to be activated in the VR Dash first, which my friend cannot do. Imacken, EDIT: Sorry, yes, I can. You can do it by running the exe file which is X:\xxxxx\Steam Libray\steamapps\common\MixedRealityVRDriver\bin\win64\OpenVRSettingsUX.exe Do I ask my friend to run this?
  15. Thanks chaps. I'll give that a go then.
  16. Quick question, I'm helping a friend setup his G2 and we're having issues with reprojection. WMR for Steam VR BETA is downloaded and we set the Motion Smoothing in Steam VR/settings/video/per application/DCS to Enabled. As he didn't buy controllers, he cannot access the Steam VR dashboard or the specific WMR reprojection settings within that app and the settings in Steam VR are not turning on reprojection. FPS is fluctuating in DCS. Do I need to revert to the old way and go into the WMR Steam Apps notepad page and comment out the marks next to auto?
  17. I fly the Hornet and have this set to 60 in the G2. Feels about right to me.
  18. Cool, yeah, I got it.
  19. What is this punk driver you speak of?
  20. I have a 3090 and have been experiencing exactly this. Wasted many hours trying to solve it. Thanks for posting.
  21. This great mod by Mustang should fix your problem. 2.5.6.xxxxx adjusted shaders - DCS Mods - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
  22. I swapped top with bottom in the tool and have had no issues at all with my G2. It felt weird straight away though without any adjustment.
  23. I received my 3090 and a G2. After a fair bit of fettling in pursuit of a noticeable DCS visual upgrade, I have settled (for now) for the settings below. SS at 100% (3172x3100) Motion Vector locked@45 PD-1 MSAAx2 Visibility Range Medium AF - 8 All shadows off Water Medium It's a real shame about the shadows, but clarity and MP performance are more important to me. This now looks like a proper upgrade in the HMD. No shimmering, nice and sharp with defined aircraft and bright street lights at night.
  24. Just got my G2. Coming from a G1, 100% SS certainly looks more like I'm used to but the strain on resources says different. At 50% indicated native there seems to be a halo of purple around edges (wings etc) giving everything a soft blurry look. Something not right here.
  25. I have a Reverb and the haze is terrible. This mod by Mustang sorts it though. 2.5.6.xxxxx adjusted shaders - ED Forums (eagle.ru)
