  1. No worries, can see you have the PG map also, there is a road tunnel about 20 clicks south of Khasab also - next time im on PG il get the grid for you. Tend to know where they are as use combined arms alot on the server i play on so you get to know where they are!
  2. There is quite a few but if on the caucasus map look at MN21 from memory, in the mountains north of Reno Zemo. It straddles the border into Russia from Georgia there is quite a few around there. There are also smaller ones on the road north from Sochi. They are dotted all around the map to be fair.
  3. ED need to get involved, surely they cannot allow a third party to interact with their customer's in such a poor, rude and unprofessional manner. There has to come a stage on quality control when the parent company has to get involved rather than allowing a third party to continue in such a fashion. Especially, when you consider alot of us have spent well over $1000 in DCS software alone. But yes to silence legitimate concerns and constructive criticism is a worrying sign of insecurity in Razbam's ability to bottom out these issues, combined with their actual track record and inability to resolve these issues, some of which on the bug tracker (that they don't want to acknowledge) are day one issues and not overly complex to resolve. There appears to be some arrogance. I think a good example of this was when we got told the TDC analogue slew axis issue was due to the consumer hardware not being good enough (lol) to render, despite every other pod in game working, despite having super high end pc's and nothing to do with their code (which they later had to acknowledge it was)! EA is all about improving the product with beta testing from the wider customer base and listening to feedback and issues raised. I mean we are dealing with a company that don't even want to work with the public bug tracker or acknowledge it, something which users are giving their free time to improve the product and yet they don't even get an acknowledgement, unbelievably rude. Can you imagine this in any other sector of business that had a competitor. Reviewing their "official" bug tracker which they control is extremely poor, being frank its a joke, not just in issues not being recognized but also in fixing dates from added. ED learnt last year how important communication was and have been more proactive since summer 2019 it has to be said. Even their acknowledgement of core bug fixing requirements which i think most serious players welcomed over the development or release of further systems/weapons on the 18/16. However Razbam's communication and output has gone backward's and it's been left unchecked. Its a shame because i don't want Razbam to fail, absolutely the opposite but i fear they are going to alienate more and more serious players given their approach.
  4. PS you may also want to read through some other users comments here, your clearly not aware of the history or have enough hours in the Harrier in competitive mulitplayer pvp to understand the issues. Its a great module superficially but it really depends on your skill set and knowledge as to how its shortcomings are a plenty. The primary issue however is the lack of Razbam to engage with their customers and reply when genuine issues are raised. They would just rather silence them. Time here is not the issue, the communication is.
  5. Clearly by the way you are trolling after i leave a post on this and other issues you are in some way either affiliated with Razbam or are some fan of theirs. Let's keep things in perspective this is not nagging, far from it, i have patience however this does not excuse the fact that Razbam do not engage with customer feedback - look at the community bug tracker and then come back to me on each point!
  6. Well its coming up a 2 year anniversary now since anyone from Razbam even commented about this issue which is still outstanding.
  7. So this post started back in April. Not one reply from anyone from Razbam in 5 months, not even a thank you or noted or its not accurate. Question why are we tolerating this level of behaviour? Forget about customer service this is just plain rude! ED need to step in and start sorting out their sub contractors this is non sustainable and affects there brand also. i tried to bring up some of these issues on their discord that they obviously control. All i know is i got banned and no longer able to log into their discord to raise issues. Absolutely shocking disregard for customer feedback or issues. And People get excited about the F15, so would i if it was being developed by a dev team that actually manged to resolve day one release issues 3 years later or didn't try and silence genuine customer concerns and feedback. Thankfully we can say how it is on here without Razbam deleting, what a joke.
  8. Just be advised guys Razbam do not like constructive criticism or questioning their resource base ability to sustain and resolve the issues with this module. I have mentioned a few of the long running bugs and new ones recently on their discord, to alert them and ask as they largely ignore these forums. We've had the owner of Razbam state that he doesn't like to post on here because he cannot control the comments/contents hence why everything goes on their Facebook these days (than in itself should ring alarm bells). Long story short i longed onto my discord over the weekend and noticed that the Razbam symbol had disappeared, tried to rejoin and said i was banned! What a disgrace, no message, no nothing from them just removed like my opinions and genuine bugs ive reported over the years don't matter. i'm glad i live in a country that allows free speech, clearly Razbam do not want this or equally welcome customer feedback. The more Razbam try and silence their genuine, and long standing customers, who equally have been around this genre for nearly 30 years the more they are going to fail as a business. Appalling behaviour - ED need to really start holding this third party dev to account for their quite shocking disregard to genuine issues and zero customer relations.
  9. Ok few other shots these are just south of Ar Raqqah, and lake Assad. Just showing how view distance and slant angle affects the brown looking rivers
  10. What i would say there seems an issue with the tree damage model, i have been in clean air, albeit very low defensive against SA10 etc and have exploded in mid air. Something is slightly wrong with the trees. Sorry this might not be directly related to your video, just stating an issue with the Map
  11. Nothing like Meta play and exploiting the system, why would anyone encourage using an A2G missile for A2A. Play the game as intended, not meta it and cheat.
  12. My install is now circa 270Gb, defo need 500GB SSD these days.
  13. Hawkeye_UK

    F-15E?

I'd be more impressed if they had screenshots of code to be honest alongside this. A 3D texture can do little without the code behind it, and there specifically is the problem. Whilst its a lovely wallpaper, it is just that, a wallpaper without the coding resource behind it.
  14. Its also still the best platform of any aircraft in game for Maritime Strike sorties.
  15. Why has no one mentioned F10 marks on the map and importing them into the data cartridge? Failing that you can just punch them in manually. Viggen excels at high speed interdiction with single strike passes in the right hands. Its speed is its defence. Some of the most exhilarating virtual strike missions are by the Viggen, and certainly alot more skill than just lobbing JSOW's and JDAMS' from 30+ miles away which allows poor virtual pilots the ability to strike any targets from stand off.
  16. Somehow missed this when i checked through the list of issues - iv'e put out my own post but included a picture for ease. But yes its not just this lake its all of them, they all need review. Apologies for the double post as i like to check first to make sure its not already reported but yes agreed genuine issue!
  17. Guys first off a thank you for all the hard efforts of the Syria Map, you can tell its had alot of pride put into the work and having bought all the maps as they were released i can honestly say this has far exceeded anything before it. To get the performance you have yet with the detail its literally by far the best map for DCS. The only main glitch i spot, that affects large portions of the map is the water. Whilst i love the transparency and not advocated this is taken away it does have issues with many lakes that look brown when you fly over them. Either the transparency is too great but i rather suspect its that the digital terrain mesh for depth of lake hasn't been taken into account, aka too shallow hence the brown mud base texture shows through. Can we replace the ground texture to make them look more like lakes when looking straight down into them of fade out the transparency for deeper bodies of water aka past say 60 feet? Same issue at beach's. On this part of the Med coast it has stunning white and golden sands that go far out into the bay, alot of the time we get brown coasts under the water. Can we increase the sand texture further out - these coasts and lakes should be stunning blues and turquoise green in places. The brown though isn't right. See attached.
  18. 50-60 hours is that even enough time to cover the training missions, just perhaps? What it does quantify (no offence intended) from what you have stated is that you have little experience in the Harrier over the last 3 years to quantify. To those that have logged over 20 times your flying hours in her the frustrating bugs are still there, some now dating 30 months since being reported with Razbam basically all but ignoring the forums. Have a read on the Harrier forum. Yes superficially the Harrier is great fun, and i enjoy her, but for first time, first strike pass there are many annoying bugs that in a competitive pvp environment can be very costly, aka forcing re attack and the inevitable loss of aircraft in game. OK so back to the OP's post...... In terms of module choice if your new again to flight sims after your break and guess never got into it properly (?) then the A10c is also a nice slow bird to fly and learn some virtual airmanship. Even if you have bought the other modules i'd recommend going back to basics and this thing loves to blow stuff up as per your requirements. The Hotas systems is still the best modelled in game and if you want to fly CAS or A2G then nothing can touch it. I'd also recommend it if you want to learn a module in SP as there is many good campaigns (enemy within, ranger now free i believe plus the ED tac training modules). It will also serve you well as will force you to learn about Sensor Point of Interest and Sensor of Interest, along with common things such as CMS measures and how to employ them, flying and hunting by RWR, a skill often missed by those that just jump straight into the 18 or 16 and fly from SA. Its also the most polished of any module and has recently just had a cockpit upgrade so its up there graphics wise with the latest releases from ED. I cannot recommend the module enough because it will, as a matter of becoming proficient in it teach you what the various ground units looks like, a must if you end up on hardcore multiplayer servers such as DDCS. It will also teach you the various type of weapons systems and how to properly employ them along with TPOD employment, all of which are skills you can transfer well into the F18/F16 at a later date. So yes if starting out go with A10c, yes it has a learning curve, but its all things that you will need to learn at some point anyway. Also for flight model and learning do not overlook the L39/C101 they are excellent also, albeit limited to dumb bombs/rockets with those. Lastly maps, you don't mention them, obviously you get Caucasus free, however Syria the new one is absolutely the best map by far, then PG, then Nevada. Normandy is now good and also Channel (small) however these are mainly used for WW2 and warbirds. As a side note, i like the Nevada map and again if intending to play offline then there are many campaign modules that will need the Nevada map as they train there (as per real world). I still use Nevada personally as its a great looking map and fly there when new modules come out for testing purposes. Hope this helped.
  19. Why is it not realistic, playing devils advocate here its radar guided, hence why it has greater range than a standard IR - it only goes IR active in its terminal guidance phase which can be well above the cloud base. What is wrong and havent seen it noted here is that you can kill the launch radar vehicle and still launch the missiles, to my understanding this is incorrect - the system needs the initial radar guidance prior to handoff to the missile seeker head for IR.
  20. Uboats just to wade in here - In combined arms if you set up a simple mission say with an Abrams and HQ7 launchers, then fire off AP rounds into the body of the HQ7 it does no damage, it has to hit exactly a really small killbox area in the base of the turret. I've even driven behind one and fired off 5 tows from a Bradley and all its 30mm direct in its rear to no effect. It's not just Bravo one, this is a widely reported issues from many experienced users of Combined Arms on DDCS. Also to note the Chinese BMP suffers from the same issue. If you cannot replicate after spending 5 mins on this, which is all it will take to set it up then let me know, i can provide countless tracks.
  21. I'm guessing this was a vague attempt at Sarcasm lol. I had a lot of patience with Razbam but being honest now its run out nearly 3 years later with simple things being left and constant poor communication and inadequate bug fixing. I find them rude as bugs reported do not get a response, despite the fact that we, the customer are trying to assist them at a cost to our time and wallet, not theirs. As i said earlier this year, its time to face reality and moderate expectations. Razbam are a fantastic and very talented group of artists, however their coding ability to be honest i find rather dubious and suspect given that long standing issues such as TDC slew would be resolved if they had the skill set in-house. Sounds harsh and said not to cause offence its purely an observation from the facts we have in front of us going on 3 years since the harrier released. So basic but vital controls, the TDC analogue slew, first raised 30 months ago to which we got the response of be patient, its more complicated than it seems and will be resolved (i can find the thread if needed). Then we had the excuse that it was down to peoples hardware architecture not their code with not being able to render in time (despite 2080ti/64gb ram/m2), then an admission there was an issue to the code which was being fixed but here we are, same problem and not resolved. Finally MFD brightness / contrast installed this year post 2.5.6 (not great EHSD still not good re font, still got to turn map off) but do we have working keybinds, despite them being in there, no its non functional! Equally we keep getting more and more screenshots of random aircraft, lighting at one point i spotted, would make a nice wall paper i'm sure. Makes me laugh when see all the kids on the F15E hype train, again moderate your expectations, even if they do push ahead at the expense of their unfinished modules and bring one into EA this year, its still going to be 2023/24 before operationally effective, which even then it may not be. Something has to give and i hope Razbam look at their business model and work out how they can sustain the correct resource base they need to expedite the sales contract issued at POS with the consumer for the modules they sell. We need coders not more artists screenshots that do not mean anything until they have code behind them. Lastly and i think most peoples frustration comes from the diabolic communication from Razbam, not helped by the community manager that its fair to say when asked anything just responded with ask Zeus, he has since left in the last week or two. I for one, will not support any further Razbam modules until they at least start acknowledging genuine bugs raised on these forums and stop being ignorant. Lastly for me, i saw the comment from Razbam saying that they like to use Facebook as they can control the comments on there, which is not a healthy attitude and speaks volumes (also re facebook - some of us don't or can't have it due to work/personal reasons).
  22. PS - Maybe if we post it on the Russian forums it would get listened too perhaps and actually something done. Rare to i see the dev's reply on these forums.
  23. Yep this was back in March - and i commented then about it straight away. I cannot believe its been overlooked once again especially with Syria also now out there. For as i said an hour at most (for a decent one with texture) its ridiculous that ED have not sorted this by now???? Enter Bignewy or nineline please....
  24. Not sure why your surprised, its more capable than the F35 in some regards when it comes to Stealth and its for that reason the US will not export it.
  25. And there lies my largest concern about the Eurofighter coming to DCS. That said what we get in DCS is the simulated flight model, the core of the systems and the capability will not be released especially regarding Radar capability / target recognition and ECM. If DCS does go down the lets make aircraft up without any source documentation it starts becoming pointless - might as well go fly war thunder.
